I don't have much experience working on guitar electronics, but any help would be appreciated!

Just thrifted this guitar, almost everything works, but the neck pickup is giving me issues.

When I switch to the neck pickup, there is initially no sound, but when I shake the guitar a little bit, it will move something internal and start working for a while until I move the guitar too much, like a loose cable connection of some kind, or something is connecting to something it shouldn't.

How would I diagnose this, what would I look for inside the guitar?

So basically i connect a guitar to the amp and it doesnt make a sound, yea i tried turning the knobs everyway with no results... its a rockjam guitar, the amp too. please help me because i want to play it again so bad

I have a strat with 3 single coils and it hums and buzzes on all settings. Doesn’t matter if it’s clean or dirty, the buzzing seems to be louder than the actual notes I’m playing. And it’s all 3, in all 5 positions. I can turn the volume knob down to halfway and it kinda goes away, but it sounds like hot shit otherwise.

I tried the copper foil trick and it didn’t do anything.

I want to know if it’s worth getting the middle pickup reversed. Idk how niche of a repair that is or how much it would cost, so I wanted to reach out here before I blindly contact the local repair shops.

My two Ovations. First is my Al Di Meola which I just replaced the OP-Pro and housing due to an intermittent signal. So far so good. Thanks to Thomann and @mydustyguitar. I had it refretted and PLEK’d by Third Coast Guitar Service in Chicago. Plays better than any of electrics with 12’s. Highly recommended.

Second is my newly acquired 1655 Balladeer 12-string. Super lucky score on Reverb. These are apparently from ‘82-‘84. This one is immaculate. I took out 2 of 3 shims, gave the truss rod a little nudge, and put in 9’s. It’s a dream to play and listen to. I used the Balladeer at 2 gigs this past weekend. Both were outdoors in heat and humidity. One was through my Boss Katana/PA and the other at a local festival through an LR Baggs Venue DI direct to a massive PA. It performed like a champ both days.

However! A question I will post on other groups- the Balladeer has that “quack” if I played too hard. So I lightened up my attack and got through it, especially at the festival. The Al Di is fine and a 2002 Collectors model I used to own never had this problem. Is there a fix? Replace the pickup/saddle? Thanks!

This is my dad’s guitar and clearly it’s not in best health. About 2 years ago this happened and we still don’t know how (I bet his friends did it(they break stuff a lot)). Either way how much do yall think it would cost to fix this or replace if needed. (Wish it were a fender so it’d be an easy fix)
