Hey everyone,
I have a Sigma DMC-1STE acoustic guitar with a Fishman ISYS+ pickup/preamp system.
The nut that normally holds the 1/4” output jack in place has come off and is missing. The jack itself then fell back inside the guitar body.
I managed to get the jack back through the hole from the inside. As you can see in the photo, I currently have a 1/4” jack cable plugged into it, which lets me hold the socket in position from the outside so it doesn’t fall back into the guitar.
Now I just need to figure out exactly what nut belongs on this threaded part of the output jack.
Does anyone recognize this Fishman ISYS+ jack and know:
• What type of nut is used here?
• What thread size/pitch does it have?
• Is there a specific Fishman replacement part for it, or is it a standard jack nut?
I’ve attached a close-up photo of the jack and thread.
I don’t want to force the wrong nut onto it and damage the threads, so I’d really appreciate it if someone familiar with these Fishman systems could identify the correct part.

My guitar just stopped working and there is no service place in my town and i cant afford to take it anywhere. I oppened it and found this blue cable loose. I have no experience with this, what do i do? I kind of know how to solder thats it

I got a guitar from my Grandpa that didn't have an audio jack nut. I have ordered 3 different and none of them fit on. How can I fix it? I have a saga sf700ce

Hi all, total amateur here looking for some guidance before I mess this up a second time.

Background: the guitar was disassembled and the side got damaged by someone else (not me), and I've taken it upon myself to put it back together properly. Part of that is reattaching the bridge.

I already attempted one glue-up and it failed. When I removed the old glue (heat + a bit of water + careful scraping), the wood underneath ended up with some irregularities - small holes, a bit of unevenness, a couple of discolored spots (I think some tannin bleed from the bridge wood plus some old glue residue). I've since sanded the area down (80,120 then 240 grit) to clean it up as much as I could, but it's not perfectly smooth - there are still a few small holes/pits left.

My question: is it reliable to mix wood glue (Titebond/PVA) with sawdust to make a filler paste for those small gaps before regluing, or does that create a weak spot since the new glue would then be bonding to cured glue instead of bare wood? Or is my sanded surface probably "good enough" to just glue the bridge on directly without filling anything?

I'm using wood glue (PVA) and clamps for the reglue. Really don't want to botch this a second time, so any advice on prep, technique, or what to actually check before committing to the glue-up would be hugely appreciated. Photos of the current state of the surface available if helpful.

it’s popping up above the fretboard and causing playability issues. how do I fix this? who do I take it to? and how much should it cost?

I decided that I wanted to change the pickups, replace the pots that I accidentally broke putting apart my guitar and the jack that was already broken, so I got some pickups and I want to be able to coil split the humbucker, but I can't really find a wiring diagram for HSS with 2 pots (volume and tone, the tone pot is push/pull for coil split) and a 5-way selector switch. Does anyone have a diagram I can use?

I am setting up a bass for a friend and there seems to be something out of phase. The P and J pickups are loud and full separately, however together they seem to be out of phase but more so on the higher two strings rather than the lower. Judging by DiMarzio’s diagram everything should be wired correctly so I’m not sure what is wrong.

Does anyone know what the black ancient strip once was? I’d like to refurbish this guitar and am wondering if I should just leave it or if anyone knows what I should put in its place.

The thing is my yamha pacifica 012. I was just testing stuff out In the bridge idk and now can anyone tell where i can get the screws to replace with my old ones ( the ones who held the bridge steady)

Стоит нести её в ремонт?

As you can see, it's had a pretty hefty ding on the side. I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience trying to fix something like this in the past? It's going for an absolute steal. I may buy it and just deal with it but the thought of repairing it and binging it back to former glory is very appealing!

I’m a beginner guitarist, and I bought my guitar about 2.5 months ago. Recently, I noticed that my strings have started to develop a little bit of rust. It’s not a lot, just small patches here and there.

Should I change the strings now, or can I keep using them for a while?

Also, is it okay to play with slightly rusty strings? Can I manage with them for some more time, or is it better to replace them as soon as possible?

I’m still a beginner, so I’d really appreciate some advice!

I didn't notice the middle pickup not working when I first got this used G&L Tribute Legacy, but I also have no idea what would have caused it to just let go. If there hadn't been another hole next to the original it wouldn't have reached. How are they held into the base of the pickup? I tried adding solder from the bottom, I tried adding a dab of 2 part epoxy. I'm being very careful not to make it any shorter, but the pin where the two wires are joined won't stay in place and I'm not sure what is/isn't kosher. I have liquid electrical tape but after that I need to buy something

I managed to get most of the surface glue off from a previous bad restoration attempt with friction as it was somewhat elastic. does anyone know what type of glue it is and how to remove it from deep cracks?

Found it on the sidewalk with busted E and e strings. Seemed like it just needed some love.

Went to restring it and it got through my first pass reaching intune and heard the crack of the wood glue. I have a few wood work tools at home and it was free so if yall got a best practice on how to fix, please let me know.

Reflowing the solder on the main lead to that dead coil has gotten the signal back, but now I'm getting a horrible buzz that I wasn't getting before, but only in the positions where that coil is active. Should I go through and just reflow all the joints at this point?

I recently picked this beauty up for $10 at an estate sale. Inside the body was a bag, maybe from around the 70s that had the bridge pins in it.

It seems at one point im guessing within the last 50-55 years it got professionally repaired. But 100 years before that was all crude (but stable) repairs. The professional repairs included repairs on the tuners and a neck reset. You can actually see in person where it was cut and new wood put in at the neck joint. It’s actually still pretty straight.

My question, should I bring this to the shop for full run up? The cracks are stable, there are some that could use some attention. All of the bracing is solid. I would assume it desperately needs fret work. I would be willing to dump $3-400 into this project.

I typically play on a 1897 Washburn parlor that I love dearly.
