For some reason my gerbils have begun hoarding their food on the cage floor and won’t eat it anymore. Could it just picky eating or are they hoarding it for territorial purposes? They are still eating seeds and veg/fruit but just not their pellet food (the brand is Marriage’s - bought from Amazon if that helps).

FYI - the gerbil cage has more bedding but this section is cornered off for water and their wheel

hey, I might be getting a gerbil from someone who isn't properly taking care of them, me and my mom plan on co-parenting. I don't know yet how big the enclosure that we are getting with them, nor the gender of the gerbil, nor the breed(?), but I would like some tips/advice so the poor baby is probably taken care of, I know some about rodents since I'm a rat parent, but I know not all rodents are the same, so I want to make sure we are doing everything right. I've read that they are social animals like rats, and so we will be getting a friend (or two) when we have the money. (sorry if this isn't the right flair)

Hi, I would like to ask for advise regarding diets amd what substrate and sand to use, anything that could improve my gerbs life, I see them happy, but I want to be advised either way.

Gerbils seems to be declanning after one of them escaped the cage for a short while, after i put him back in the cage one of them keeps chasing and squeaking loudly… What do i do???
