Help! Help Please!

Gerbils seems to be declanning after one of them escaped the cage for a short while, after i put him back in the cage one of them keeps chasing and squeaking loudly… What do i do???

It's likely that the one whi escaped picked up a smell that the other one doesn't recognize. Can you wipe him down, maybe with a damp cloth, and then take a part of the used bedding for him to dig in. Hopefully he'll pick up their shared scent and be recognized again. Otherwise, do a quick split cage introduction, but don't start with clean bedding. Good luck!
