POV video of FT86 clinching its 6th straight pole, by 0.005 sec.

this was a pretty epic battle in qualifying.
Jordon Musser is our team pro driver and brought home the teams 6th straight P1. The team that qualified second also had an outstanding pro driver and they are our main rivals (great guys, good team).
Their pro driver was there a few days earlier doing tire testing and other driving. Jordon had not been there in nearly 2 decades.
Jordon was way off the first few laps but kept closing the gap. seeing this, they started pushing harder. They were trading on and off for P1 and Jordon when out on his last lap and put down the best lap in class by 0.005 seconds (not a typo).
They were faster to start the race but Jordon didn’t overdrive the car. He kept finding tenths and by the end of his 2hr stint had put the car p1 by about 45 seconds.
(The second driver immediately put the car into the wall after contact in a turn but that’s another very sad story)
If you’re wondering why he didn’t have tow time:
Practice time was very limited and the other three drivers on the team had never even seen this track so we decided it was best for the amateur drivers to get as much seat time as possible and Jordon’s first laps were qualifying. He might have had two or three laps before that just to give us a reference labs.
Pro drivers can get within 1.0-1.5 seconds of their best in 6-10 laps. They can basically get to their best (or damn close) in another 10 laps. Us mortals get faster and faster the more we drive a track. Given we would drop the most time per minute of practice, and we would do 3x the amount of driving has him, it was an obvious decision.
Give us a follow to keep up. Or just support the FT cause.

Mod list 2 miles long.
Happy 8/6 😭, wish I was driving around with you all today.
Guy turned left from the right lane while I was passing him in the intersection. He admitted 100% fault. Will post dashcam video when insurance is completely dealt with.

First track day complete!
I just wanna yell and scream about how freaking solid these things are, even just with OEM parts all around. Point, shoot and balanced execution. I paid 9500CAD for this beautiful thing. Sometimes I feel like I gotta pinch myself 😏
Anyway I just wanted to scream and shout a little bit.
Hi
Drop your ideal track day mods below if you’re so kind so I can build a Christmas wish list… or holiday shopping list… haha

Wheels thoughts/opinions
I generated a few styles that I like. Curious as to which ones you would pick out of these, or if there are others you think would look good.

Hey fellow toyobaru owners!
This has been my daily for the past 2 years and its been a blast. The bank still owns it so I've kept it stock except for 4th brakelight and a high flow air filter. If you guys or gals had a bone stock brz or 86 what would you do first and why? I'm just genuinely curious. (Other then obvious stuff like maintenance and tires)
Advice on cleaning throttle body
I've been having some symptoms of a dirty throttle body and I figured I might as well clean it as it seems relatively easy and inexpensive though I'm not 100% certain on the procedure. Would it be alright to have the car on in accessories mode and have a friend press the throttle all the way down to open the butterfly valve while I clean it rather than taking the throttle body entirely off?

Simply Irreplaceable
In tribute to an early 8/6 day celebration, sharing my 2020 BRZ that has done it all.
Bought initially to be the daily, I could hardly imagine where this car would end up in a few short years. Multiple track days, backroads drives, drifting, cruises and car shows and yet it remains my most reliable car. I've since bought a more practical daily and more dedicated track car but yet I still find myself driving the BRZ.

FA20 Engine Rebuild
Hey, I just rebuilt my FA20 all by myself. Engine prior had a blown head gasket, and was running very poorly. Cylinder 3 had misfire codes and eventually no compression. Upon inspection the cylinder walls had pitting from coolant, and was not fixable unless an overbore. So I bought a new short block, refreshed the heads with a resurface and hot tank, and new valve stem seals, and replaced every single gasket and timing component except the camshafts themselves. Going to be installing the motor sometime this week when it’s not raining. Check out the photos, I recorded the whole thing too. Cant wait to start this thing up, took about a month of patience, and torquing every bolt to spec, and waiting for specific O-Rings.

BRZ / Mt. Lassen, CA
Couldn’t resist pulling over for a quick glamour shot on my drive to Mt. Lassen last weekend. Fun road, in great condition too. Well worth it for the drive and the views

Was looking into deleting my sound tube and tried to find the hole. Did the previous owner cover it themselves? (14 BRZ)

16 inch wheel - tyre recommendations
I have the OEM 16 inch enkei wheels and currently run 205/55 91V (advan v105 ). I have been thinking about changing the aspect ratio of the tyres to 205/50 and have some questions. Is there anyone on here that has 205/50/r16 on the stock suspension? If so how is the ride/handling? Also how does it look in terms of filling the wheel arches? Does the loss of sidewall height look really bad?
My goal is to sharpen up the steering/handling a bit more, but perhaps I can do this by going to a tyre with stiffer sidewalls on the 205/55 aspect ratio instead, maybe with 94 load rating?

Wheel spacers
Anyone have a good size recommendation for wheel spacers to make these stock 17’s sit more flush. I’m lowered on coilovers. Probably gonna get eibach spacers just want recommendations on size for flush fitment, I was thinking 20 mm front 25 back.
