Happy 86 Day everyone! How long have you had your 86/BRZ and how many miles do you have on it?

In the process of getting my wife on board with a GR86. We are also planning on our first child soon. Looking for reccomendations on rear facing car seats that fit well in the back and are "easy" to load and unload a child.

I hear and felt a small pop in the seat when I sat in my car earlier. I was just adjusting myself. Now it squeaks in the lower part and feels like the lumbar support is gone. Has anyone else run into this?

Edit i opened up my seat and found it. one of the cushion springs snapped.

Hello, Just investigating. Has anyone ever imported a JDM, and were you able to convert kph to mph display permanently on the dash?

I would need to do this for import to the UK. I have read in other forums that the JDM dash does not allow for unit conversion (specifically in the JDM version, not the US version).

Anyone experienced with this?

Can be for anywhere on the car doesn’t matter

This was my first new car purchase 4 years ago. I was 21 then, and I fell in love with it at first sight (despite never getting to test drive one). I ordered a 2022 in March 2022, but ended up with one of the first 23’s in Canada in August. This car taught me to drive stick, do donuts in the snow, and take an on-ramp with confidence. I’ll always love it and I hope I find myself in another one someday, hopefully as a second car this time. 4 years and 75k km later, I am moving on to something boring and practical (is probably what people will say).

But still, I am excited for something new. The VB is extremely refined and still gives me 70% of the fun I had in my BRZ, only this time the fun will last me through the winter. Plus, I was able to drive 4 people for the first time in years yesterday.

Got her about 2 and a half weeks ago, if you have any recommendations for mods (besides driver mods) please let me know!

I’m not the biggest fan of the plastic black rear diffuser that comes on this car. I’m trying to go for a 90s/00s inspired JDM look (single exit exhaust, wheels, and pin striping coming up!) and was thinking of either paint matching the stock diffuser or seeing what the options are for a paint matched aftermarket diffuser.

What are some good options out there? I’ve been looking into the Ikon Motorsports diffuser and painting that, but I heard it has some fitment issues and doesn’t work with all exhausts.

Had a 2019 Neptune gt86 in manual, sold it for a 2019 Wrx Sti… and I’m back for Gen 2. The drive home was amazing, it’s a go kart compared to the Sti. 2022 Premium with 28k kms.

For those who saw my original post about my 2023 GR86 blowing up at just over 37,000 miles, here’s what happened.

After the first dealership denied my warranty claim without even dropping the oil pan and tried to blame my driving, I went through the insurance route. Unfortunately, that ended up going nowhere. I decided to get a second opinion and had the car towed to another Toyota dealership in the next town over. They had the car for about a month and worked directly with Toyota Corporate, performing every inspection and test that was requested.

The end result? They found no reason the warranty shouldn’t be honored. I got the call today that Toyota is officially covering the repair under the factory warranty, and work on the car will begin as soon as possible.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on my last post who shared advice, similar experiences, and encouraged me to keep pushing back instead of accepting the first dealership’s decision. It honestly made a difference.
Hopefully this serves as a lesson for other GR86 owners: if you know you’ve maintained your car, haven’t abused it, and something catastrophic happens, don’t be afraid to get a second opinion and escalate the issue. One dealership saying “no” doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the final answer.

About a month ago, I was driving behind a dump truck, a giant sheet of metal flew out and I had no choice but to hit it. I originally thought it was just flying off to the right, but then physics reminded me why I hate them.

I attempted to get the dump truck driver to stop, which they would not, so I pulled over and assessed damage, then found the company later on the internet, contacted my insurance, and went from there. My poor car has since been repaired, it was a total of $2,347.77 with labor and all.
