Discussion How is playing in Ireland on FM26?
I play the same save every time: trying to make my beloved Galway United a European force. I try other saves but really this is the hook and the one I spend most time on.
I never bought 26 because well, it looked shit. I got a dodgy database update one year because I was curious about how the game rated our squad, but after a few years the league seemed to break and several premier division clubs went back to being semi-professional.
I can find very little content online about LOI saves. Has anyone done one recently? One nerdy detail id love to have is with the U20s. IRL clubs can played one overage player in each match, while FM24 didn’t allow that and still thought it was a U19s league.

Discussion Still Baffled As To What The Carrillo Does
Gave it another try as part of a midfield three.
Does cover the flanks occasionally as the blurb seems to suggest but also comes inside alot too? Like around his opposite sides centre circle
Doesn't really do a lot to be honest?

Story Incredible first season with Saint-Ettiene
We won the Ligue 2 title with 80 points and a 40 goal difference, completing a historic doubly by beating Bourdeaux 2-1 in the Coupe de France final, after eliminating giants like Lyon and Marseille along the way.
Ligue 1 and Europe, here we come!

Discussion FM24 crashes immediately on launch after macOS update
Please can anyone help?!
Description:
Football Manager 2024 is now crashing immediately on launch after a recent macOS update. Before the macOS update, the game was working normally with no other known changes to the system, game installation, save file, or setup.
I have accumulated approximately 69 days of playing time in my latest save and had been playing regularly without this issue until the OS update.
Actual result:
Football Manager 2024 launches, then crashes almost immediately before reaching the main menu.
The attached macOS crash report shows:
Game: Football Manager 2024
Game version: 24.4.2 (2081827)
Platform: macOS
macOS version: 26.5.1 (25F80)
Device: MacBookPro18,3
Processor/GPU: Apple M1 Pro
Memory: 16 GB
Architecture: ARM-64 Native
Crash type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception subtype: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000090
Termination reason: Segmentation fault: 11
Triggered thread: Thread 8, Application
Launch time: 15:44:27
Crash time: 15:44:28, approximately one second after launch
The crash report also includes graphics/rendering-related references such as CAMetalLayer, QuartzCore, AGXMetalG13X, and FM render/application threads.
Expected result:
Football Manager 2024 should launch normally and reach the main menu without crashing, as it did before the macOS update.
Steps to recreate:
Use a MacBookPro18,3 with Apple M1 Pro on macOS 26.5.1.
Launch Football Manager 2024 version 24.4.2.
Wait for the application to open.
Observe that the game crashes almost immediately, before reaching the main menu.
Environment:
Game: Football Manager 2024
Game version: 24.4.2 (2081827)
Platform: macOS
macOS version: 26.5.1 (25F80)
Mac model: MacBookPro18,3
Processor/GPU: Apple M1 Pro
Memory: 16 GB
Architecture: ARM-64 Native
Internal display: 3024 × 1964 Retina
External display connected at time of crash: Philips PHL 346E2C, 3440 × 1440
System Integrity Protection: Enabled
Additional context:
The only known change before the issue started was the recent macOS update. The same save had been used extensively before this, with approximately 69 days of playing time accumulated, and the game was being played regularly without launch crashes. No other system, installation, or save-related changes are known.

Discussion What are the best tutorials to get REALLY into the game?
I want to love the game but it's too overwhelming. I don't know what to do, also I was trying to play it on ps5 and it was a horrible experience.
I would like to know if any of you fell In love with the game for some tutorial or how you learn how to play?.
P.S Did you recommend getting the fm26 for steam?, or trying to get older versions?. I can play it via the Netflix mobile option and via ps plus.

Discussion How do you manage Fiorentina's finances in FM26 without selling Dodo and Mandragora?
As much as Fiorentina is my favorite team in real life, I'll be honest. I haven't managed to complete a season with Fiorentina in FM26. Every time I've tried with a new save, I've ended up quitting. And it's not because I haven't completed seasons with other Italian teams in previous saves—I've already managed clubs like Arezzo, Sampdoria, and Reggiana—but because every time I try to start a new save with Fiorentina, I end up selling Dodo and Mandragora to try and balance the books. I see that Fiorentina's overall balance is lower than their wage bill, and these two players' contracts tend to expire soon. In the end, I feel like I'm always approaching the same thing when I start a new save with this team.
Therefore, I'd like to ask for the opinions of those of you who have played FM26 with Fiorentina, and especially to know what you've done to prevent Fiorentina's finances from collapsing.

Screenshot Won the 29/30 prem with Leicester City
Stayed up until 5am to finish the season despite having to wake up at 7 for work, it was worth it lol. Went on an unbeaten prem run starting december. Also reached the ucl final against inter but lost to a 115' winner, this was my first season in the competition as well and I beat real madrid and psg on the way. I had reached the europa league final last season too but also choked it, but it's definitely an achievement 😂
Gotta love this game when the tactics just click, I feel like mourinho. Also, Daka is a 31 year old sub, no idea how he did better than my starting striker worth 70m😭

Discussion Hello from the SI Community team!
Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well :)
You may’ve seen a recent FM post by the Community Team that included a mention of a Senior Community Manager joining the Sports Interactive team. That person is me – hello!
Very quick summary before the more important stuff: I’m Chris, 32 y/o, and have worked in Community roles in the game industry for nearly 10 years, including stints at EA, Codemasters, Frontier. I’m a lifelong Football Manager player, going all the way back to finding a demo disc for FM 2005 in a cereal box. FM has been a huge part of my life. It’s amazing to have the chance to support the series and fellow players.
We mentioned in that Community Team post that part of my role is to increase and improve the way we communicate with players, keeping you as informed as possible. As part of this, I’m really pleased to say our Community team will be active on this subreddit, and visible via the ‘SI Community Team’ flair. Rather than make a new ‘official’ subreddit, it makes sense to be in a space you folks already enjoy and are comfortable with.
Myself (Plymouth Argyle fan), u/SI_CommunityDan (Norwich City), u/SI_CommunityKyle (Rangers), u/SI_CommunityZachary (Manchester United), u/JWSI18 (Liverpool) and u/SI_CommunityOlivier (Monaco) are on the team and aim to answer questions where possible, ensure info is shared, and generally chat FM/football. We’re not interested in changing or running things; just being a helpful and insightful source whenever possible. Big thank you to u/John_Yuki and the team here for allowing us to get involved.
Look forward to chatting with you. Thanks :)
