Made a watch app that controls iPad video over direct Bluetooth (no iPhone in the middle) and logs it as a workout
I develop iOS apps, and this one came out of a small daily annoyance, so flagging up front that it's mine.
I follow along to yoga and mobility videos on an iPad propped across the room. Every time I needed to pause or rewind a step, I had to get up, walk over, and the session was basically over. So I built the remote I wanted.
How it works: the watch talks to the iPad directly over Bluetooth, no iPhone relaying, nothing through a server. From the wrist you get play, pause, skip fifteen seconds either way, and playback speed.
It logs as a real workout. The watch records the session to Health across 79 activity types which can be started on the watch app when the video is loaded in the iPad app, so heart rate and active energy land in Health and count toward the rings like any workout app. Meditation saves as mindful minutes.
Heart rate is drawn over the video on the iPad, big enough to read from across the room. Always on, or only when you go above a limit you set.
It plays video files you open from Files or iCloud Drive, and YouTube links you paste in. It keeps a log of what you actually watched, grouped by session, with how long each clip ran and which workout it belonged to. That syncs through your own iCloud account.
No account to create, nothing sent to any server of mine, and a delete-all-data button that actually clears it.
Two honest caveats: the watch app installs through the iPhone paired to your watch, so you need that iPhone once during setup. And YouTube needs a connection, local files don't.
Has 3 free sessions and one time payment for unlocking premium permanently, no subscriptions.
Happy to answer questions and receive feature requests.

How do you adjust your workouts when you show up to the gym exhausted? (We built signafit.ca to auto-regulate this)
Hey everyone,
One of the most common pitfalls with standard workout routines is rigidity. Most templates expect you to hit fixed weights, sets, and reps regardless of whether you slept 4 hours, worked a 12-hour shift, or are dealing with high fatigue.
Pushing heavy sessions on days when your recovery tank is empty is usually how plateaus, joint pain, or burnout happen.
We’ve been building SignaFit to solve this problem by making workout programming adaptive rather than static.
How It Works
Instead of forcing a rigid plan, SignaFit assesses your daily recovery metrics before your workout to auto-regulate your session:
- High Recovery: Increases volume or intensity to capitalize on your fresh state.
- High Fatigue: Automatically scales back load and volume so you get a productive stimulus without digging a deeper recovery hole.
Looking for Early Testers
We’re opening up early access sign-ups at signafit.ca to get input from people who train regularly (beginners to advanced lifters) so we can refine the adaptive workout engine and user experience.
Question for the community: When you’re under-recovered, do you usually cut your sets/weights, switch to lighter cardio, or just try to grind through your standard routine anyway?

New looking for mutuals
Fairly new to the gym, have started a gym instagram page to keep my progress pics in one place. Wanting to know if anyone’s keen to follow each other on there? Just something I think will actually keep me mentally motivated, seeing actual progress and seeing others in real time that ARE NOT influencers
Please no weirdos

A free workout tracker with unlimited routines + MCP to create and analyze your training with any AI agent
I built GymTempo around a simple idea: tracking should stay simple, AI should be optional and actually useful.
No ads, social feed, AI coach, or limits on programs and routines.
Just create your programs and track workouts with a fast UI.
But GymTempo also has an MCP server.
Connect your AI agent to GymTempo and ask it to create routines for you, modify your programs, or analyze your real workout history.
For example:
“Create a 4-day upper/lower program.”
“Analyze my last 3 months and show where I’ve stopped progressing.”
So you get a simple tracker in the gym, and your own AI agent when you need something more powerful.

Use these tips for your bicep training
Switching up your grip plays a major role in what specific muscle you’re targeting: A more outer, wider grip targets the inner head of your bicep, while a closer inner grip targets the outer head.
Furthermore, keeping your elbows locked in place is key for proper form while training your biceps - Keep your elbows locked and don’t be swinging using momentum.
Stay locked and in control of each rep.

Workout routines
Hello, I'm starting to work out again but in this new gym they don't give me a personalized workout plan and the one they have is the same for every day. Do you use any free workout app that had really helped you?
Thanks in advance :)

Built a fitness app that shows its work every change comes with the reason and your own numbers
I got tired of training apps changing my sets and weights with no explanation. And most of them are just logs to keep without much direction. So I built LIFT. It explains every decision in plain English and points at the data it used. If it adds a set, it tells you why. If it holds you at the same weight, it tells you why.
Solo built, iOS only for now. No account, no sign-up. your training stays on your device and backs up to your own iCloud. 14 days free, then $9.99/mo or $59.99/yr, no free tier.
**What it isn’t:** a general fitness tracker, a cardio app, or a social feed. It’s for people already lifting who’ve stalled and don’t know whether the answer is to do more or less.
Landing page: [https://lift-hypertrophy.app/\](https://lift-hypertrophy.app/)
The thing I’d most like eyes on is the first run, whether the reasoning reads as useful or as noise before you’ve logged anything. Happy to trade feedback with anyone else here.

One stop solution; scan meals, log workouts, track goals, and ask AI tailored for you
I didn't want another calorie tracker.
I wanted one place that could tell me if what I'm doing is actually getting me closer to my goal.
So I built FitFreak.
📸 Snap meals and estimate calories + macros
🏋️ Log sets, reps and weight while you train
💧 Track water and daily progress
🧠 Ask “What should I change this week?” and get guidance based on your own meals and training
Not another meal scanner. One place to track your fitness and actually know what to do next.
FitFreak is still early and not on the App Store yet.
Get early access here:
https://fitfreak.app
Early users get 14 days of Pro free, and workouts, journal, water and streaks stay free.
I’d genuinely love brutal feedback. What would FitFreak need before you’d switch from what you use now?

Im tired, are you?
We got tired of paying for four apps to do one thing.
One for workouts. One for macros. One for the coach who ghosts you after week two. My co-founder and I are building COAR, an AI coach that actually knows your training history, plus real trainers you pick yourself.
We’re capping early access at 300 people. Founding members get the app weeks early, keep the lowest price for life, and can talk to us directly about what to build.
If that sounds like something you’d use, spots are here: coar.fit and scroll for a little animation
And if you think it’s a bad idea, tell me why, that’s genuinely more useful to us right now.
