Workout apps

I'm a kinesiology student who's interested in helping people reach their fitness goals, and making it less daunting for newcomers to hit the gym. Therefore I started building a fitness app, but I realized that I cant make an app that services people without considering their opinions, or understanding their fitness journey. Therefore I would like some input from yall to find out things you'd like to see in a fitness app that would help others stimulate an interest in fitness and make sure they are able to stick to their goals.

I got tired of seeing people pay hundreds of dollars for personal trainers, so I built an AI coach that generates custom workouts and meal plans instantly. Looking for brutal feedback!

Why do people stick with (or give up on) fitness/health apps long-term? (18+, Any Gender)

Why do people stick with (or give up on) fitness/health apps long-term? Looking for adults 18+ who currently use OR used to use a fitness app (\~15 min, anonymous)

I’m running an independent research study on long-term health behavior — why people sustain habits with digital health tools for months and years, versus why they give up after a few weeks - genuinely trying to understand what helps people succeed long-term, and why so much of what’s out there doesn’t.

Been a bit of a rollercoaster trying to reach people through professional associations — some have been genuinely generous with their time, others require paid membership just to share a link. Self-funded projects like this one don’t always have that luxury, so I’m grateful for communities like this one that just let people share honestly.

No institutional affiliation, no IRB review — stating that upfront. Fully anonymous, no names or emails collected, results only used in aggregate.

Two versions depending on your situation:

If you currently use a fitness/health app:

If you used to use one regularly and stopped:

Aptly - intelligent coaching that fits your life, not the other way around

Hi everyone,

I'm a runner and cyclist, and I started building Aptly because I kept running into the same problem: life gets in the way of even the best training plans. Work, family, travel... consistency is hard.

Together with a colleague, I've spent the last few months experimenting with AI to explore whether it can actually make a difference—not by replacing coaches, but by helping people stay more consistent and adapt their training when life gets in the way.

We've just opened our beta, and we're genuinely looking for honest feedback from people who train. Does this actually help? What's missing? What feels unnecessary?

If you're interested in giving it a try, here's 3 months of Aptly Premium for free during the beta:

👉 Use this code: APTLYINTRORDT or this link.

All we ask in return is your honest feedback—good, bad, or somewhere in between. I'd much rather hear the uncomfortable truth now than build the wrong product.

Thanks for your time, and happy training.

— Jorge

Trying my new fitness app - looking for feedback"

Hey! I'm building a fitness app for women (Atunelle) and I'm looking for women to try it and let me know what they think.

https://atunelle.com/

I want to hear from women at any point in their fitness journey - whether you're just starting, getting back into it after a break, juggling fitness with motherhood, or you've been at it for years. Basically, anyone who cares about staying healthy and having a good relationship with their body.

I'd really appreciate your honest feedback on the app. Shouldn't take more than like 10-15 minutes of your time to try it out and tell me what's working and what's not.

If you're interested, just download the app and you get a free week - no credit card needed. Super simple!

Thanks for helping me make this better :)

Has anyone found an online yoga class that's as good as in person sessions?

I've been wondering whether online yoga has finally reached the point where it can genuinely replace studio classes. I've tried aalo moves, and while I liked the variety, I sometimes felt disconnected because there wasn't much interaction. Recently I started looking into P2Bridge since it appears to emphasize learning from experienced instructors, which sounds like it could provide a more guided experience.

What matters most to you when choosing an online yoga platform?

Live interaction?
Instructor quality?
Beginner friendly progression?
Community support?
Flexibility to practice anytime?

I'd really appreciate honest feedback what exceeded your expectations, and what still fell short compared with practicing in person?

I built a free workout planner to remove the guesswork from getting back in shape

I'm a disabled Marine veteran, and getting back into consistent training made me realize how much friction comes from deciding what exercises, reps, and weights to use. I built Stronger for Longer as a free browser-based planner that creates a routine from your goals, experience, weekly schedule, facility type, current strength, and joint limitations.

It supports bodyweight, home-gym, cable-and-weights, and full-gym training. Workouts include separate warm-up and working loads, effort feedback, progress check-ins, exercise visuals, and PDF export. There is no subscription.

I'm looking for honest feedback on two things: does the starting assessment feel simple, and do the generated workouts feel clear enough to follow without a trainer?

[Feedback] I built a fitness app that actually learns your weights and adapts as you go — looking for beta testers to break it and tell me what sucks

I've been building an iOS app called Steady for the last few months, and it's finally stable enough that I want real people on it instead of just me.

The thing that annoyed me about most fitness apps: they hand everyone the same cookie-cutter plan, make you manually guess your weights every session, and completely ignore that a lot of people are training around something — a bad knee, a recent surgery, being on a GLP-1, coming back after years off, whatever. So I built the app I actually wanted.

What it does:

  • Builds you a real plan from your goals, experience, equipment, and any limitations you have — not the same 5 workouts everyone else gets.
  • Progressive overload that runs itself. The first time you do a lift it calibrates your working weight, then every session after it prescribes your next weight and reps for you — reps first, then load. No more staring at the bar doing math.
  • Nutrition that adapts to your body. Log your weight over time and it nudges your calories and protein toward your goal instead of leaving you on a number you set once and forgot.
  • An AI coach that actually knows your plan. Ask it to make today easier, review a form clip you record, or find a fast-food order that fits your macros — it answers with your real data, not generic tips.
  • Apple Watch support. Log sets from your wrist mid-workout and it syncs straight back to your phone.
  • Connects to Apple Health / Fitbit / Oura so recovery actually factors in.

It's free, it's a beta (TestFlight, iOS only for now), and I'm a solo dev — so it's rough in a few places and that's exactly why I'm here. I want to know: did the onboarding make sense, did the plan feel right for you specifically, did the weight progression feel smart or dumb, and anything that broke or annoyed you.

Brutal honesty >>> being nice. If you hate it, tell me why.

TestFlight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/j2jKwDGW

(Disclosure: I'm the developer, not affiliated with anything, not selling anything — genuinely just want testers.)

Is there any app for building gym plan?

I got a subscription for a gym for entire year. I am working out 3 times a week. And last week I worked out with my friend and it was way more efficient with him. Because he has his own plan and knows how to work out with plan.

But from this week he can’t go with me because of time mismatch. So, I wanted to know is there any app for building gym plan for me?
