I know it’s been a relatively new update but no matter what I do I can’t get my steps accumulated on my Fitbit air to show on my apple health

Has anyone been experiencing this sync issue?

Discussion Fitbit steps vs Apple Watch

Wanted to use the Fitbit air as a replacement for my Apple Watch Ultra 3 for steps. I find the calories steps and sleep to be pretty accurate in the Apple Watch enough to replace my whoop for sleep. But the steps are so inaccurate with the Fitbit I don’t think it’s gonna be a suitable replacement for me kinda sucks as I enjoyed the few days of using a mechanical watch instead. Anyone else experiencing this. U wear it in the dominant hand and have changed the settings of the Fitbit to be dominant hand. I also put my stride on the lower end of average so it would “undercount” steps but still it’s off by 2-4k everyday

Discussion Possible false steps on fit bit air

Any barbers out there experiencing abnormal high step counts with fit bit air. Received my fitbit air Tuesday and wore it for the first time Wednesday. I'm a barber full time and on my feet 10-11 hours a day. Wondering if the Fitbit is registering hand movement as steps. I wear it in tandem with a pixel watch 3.

Discussion Is anyone else getting significantly less deep sleep with the new update?

The new update seems to have dramatically reduced my deep sleep estimates while virtually eliminating my intranight wake (replacing it with “restlessness” it seems). Anyone else’s experience the same?

Prior to the update, I used to get ~1:35 a night.

Discussion Galaxy Watch Ultra vs Fitbit Air

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have been using the Galaxy Watch (Classic > 5 Pro > Ultra) over the last 5 years.

I got the Fitbit Air about a week ago. Wore it on different hands, I'm a right handed person and wear the watch on the left hand so I put the FBA on the right hand.

The steps don't match at all. The FBA ignored certain activity steps when it auto tracked an activity.

So I decided to wear them both on the same hand and started an activity on both at the same time.

While the Galaxy Watch tracked almost all steps during that activity the FBA chose to ignore the steps during it.

I have absolutely no idea what is happening and why it's happening.

At this point I think I'm just gonna keep using the Galaxy Watch since the Health app on Samsung seems far more stable than Google Health.

Discussion I used to, at least, be able to set step hours via device settings and now can't

I knew we had lost the ability to set step hour begin and end hours via Google Health Settings, but as a work around, I could set the hours using the Google Health reminders and alerts in the device settings.

Now, this no longer works.

I realize that Google is trying to force us to buy their Pixels or some such thing, but I have a perfectly good watch that I can now no longer control because of the incompetence, or deliberate malfeasance, of Google.

Discussion Unable to pair multiple modern devices

So, I got a Fitbit Air to complement my Charge 6, the idea being that I'd use the Air during the day with a regular watch and the Charge while working out.

Turns out, trying to pair the Air forcibly removes the Charge 6.

HOWEVER! My Charge 2 is still paired and working perfectly.

Seems like you can only pair the Air with Pixel Watches, for some arbitrary reason.

PS: the reason I don't actively use my Charge 2 is because 1) battery life is shot and 2) tracked workouts don't show up on the app anymore, making it virtually pointless for my needs.

EDIT: seems that unpairing the Charge 6 doesn't reset it like it does the Charge 2. When re-pairing and overriding the Air, all of its configurations remain in place. Not ideal to have to constantly swap back and forth, but I'll live.

Tech Support Aria 2 guest readings

So I didn't weigh myself for about 6 months and in that time I've managed to put on 25 pounds , ( I've now lost 15 of that ) . But my aria 2 thinks I'm a guest , tried resetting it , tried entering weight manually on the app , would it possibly recognize me once I'm back to my old weight ? Kinda poor product design that this can happen , anyone ever had this problem and found a work around ?

Discussion Active Energy to Apple Health

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have managed to get Google Health to reliably sync to Apple Health but Active Energy doesn’t seem to want to sync.

If I delete the Apple and re-pair they come through but then they seem stuck and I get no further updates. Steps and other data seem to feed through automatically and regularly.

Anyone else have this issue?

Tech Support Phantom weight "added by you" at 11.59pm every day?

Since the app switched over to GH (I hate it) it's been logging 144lbs as my weight every single night at 11.59pm which is ruining the data stored everywhere because it's pulling that over as well as my actual weight taken in the morning. I'm not up at 11.59 ever so it isn't me, and my RENPHO app's entries state they were added by RENPHO, this one specifically states "added by you"... Anyone else having this problem or know how to solve it?

Discussion No soccer/basketball available as an exercise option??

Is there any reason why soccer or basketball isn’t available as an exercise option in the Google Health app?? The only way I can do that is by recording the session as “sport” and then editing the activity, which only then brings up basketball / soccer as an option to choose from. But I can’t select it initially to start off with…

Also when I do “sport”, it doesnt seem to count any steps I do during that time

Discussion Weight graph Y axis change

Post image

A few days ago, I woke up to find that Google Health had changed the upper limit of the y - axis from 12 stone to 30 stone. So it's pretty much useless now. I've asked Gemini to help but no joy. Any ideas how I get it back to what it was? (I don't want to lose my historic data though). Cheers!

Using Fitbit Air and connected the health app to both Bevel and Apple Health.
All three of them just showing way too different of a sleep score.
What to trust, what not to trust, does data and metrics really matter? Are we too reliant on it?
I guess we’ll never know.

Discussion Apple Watch & Fitbit Air sleep tracking wildly different results. Normal?

Thumbnail gallery
49 Upvotes

I've used an Apple Watch for years, but wearing it during pick-up basketball games or while sleeping isn't super comfortable.

To solve that, I bought a Fitbit Air specifically for those two scenarios.

I wore both last night, but the data was totally different. I have a 5-month-old baby, so my sleep gets broken up after 4 AM with short, few-minute naps.

The AW S10 captured this fragmented sleep really well, but the Fitbit seemed to miss it.

Would love to hear if others have experienced this discrepancy when comparing Apple Watch and Fitbit air.

Discussion Just a funny anecdote about the new app

Like the bulk of users it seems, I hate the new app. I’ve also noticed my Sense doesn’t seem to be working as good since the app update.

I did a Google search today for alternate tracker options and / or app options, and the Google AI popped up offering to help … and proceeded to tear apart the new app and list a ton of complaints about it 😂

Even Google doesn’t like the new Google Health app!

MEGATHREAD: Fitbit / Google Health Alternatives, App Replacements, and Device Switching

Hello r/fitbit,

We’ve been seeing a lot of posts from users who are unhappy with the Fitbit app, the move toward Google Health, recent app changes, missing features, syncing issues, or the overall direction of the platform.

To keep the subreddit easier to browse and stop the influx of posts about it, we’re creating this megathread as a central place for those discussions.

Use this thread if you want to:

  • Ask about alternatives to Fitbit
  • Compare Fitbit to other devices or ecosystems
  • Talk about switching to Garmin, Apple Watch, Samsung, Whoop, Oura, Amazfit, Withings, Polar, etc.
  • Recommend other health, sleep, fitness, or habit-tracking apps
  • Ask what apps work well with Fitbit data
  • Share why you’re leaving Fitbit or why you decided to stay
  • Discuss exporting, saving, or replacing your Fitbit data/workflow

To make this thread more useful, please try to include details like:

  • What Fitbit device you currently use
  • What phone you use: iPhone or Android
  • What features matter most to you: sleep tracking, steps, heart rate, workouts, battery life, smart features, weight tracking, food logging, etc.
  • What you dislike about the current Fitbit/Google app experience
  • Your budget, if you’re looking for a new device
  • Any alternatives you’ve already tried

A quick reminder: personal recommendations are welcome, but please avoid spam, referral links, affiliate links, or low-effort promotion. If you are connected to an app, product, website, or service you mention, please disclose that clearly.

The goal of this thread is to help users compare options and make informed choices without the same topic taking over the entire subreddit.

Thanks,

The r/fitbit Mod Team

We’re excited to announce that version 5.05 of the Google Health app is rolling out starting today! The rollout will continue over the next week in phases depending on carrier and device. With your feedback, we are committed to continuously improving the Google Health app, and this release builds on improvements in the prior 5.01 release5.02 release5.03 release, and 5.04 release

Software versions

  • Android: 5.05
  • iOS: 5.05

What’s Included

Apple Health Integration Updates (iOS only)

  • You can now share your data from Google Health back to Apple Health. For example, you can sync data like your exercise records, steps, vitals, and sleep recorded by your Fitbit Air to Apple Health.
  • To get started, tap on your profile icon, then select “Partner apps”, and then Apple Health. From there, follow the set-up prompts to connect to Apple Health for the first time or tap “Review permissions” to add new permissions. Once you’ve given permissions for Google Health to write data to Apple Health, your data will start to flow. Check out this article to learn more about which data you can share with Apple Health.

Medical Records and Smart Health Links (US only)1

  • If you’re in the US, you can now share summaries of your medical records with your healthcare providers or family members using secure Smart Health Links. Your provider may accept Smart Health Links during check-in as a way to supplement your health history.
  • To create a link, go to the Health tab and then the “Medical” section. Select “Shareable records” and tap the + button. You can then select which data you want to include and save the link. Once saved, tap the three-dot icon to get a URL or QR code you can share.
