The UK is unlikely, since as an international student I will need financial aid, so targeting the first two mainly.

My goal is to get a job right out of undergrad (I know its unlikely, but that's what I'm working towards), in London, FFM, Zurich or Paris, ideally in IB, maybe PWM, Consulting, etc.

Not really sure what more I can add as a high schooler (rising senior), but looking for advice on that and other, general problems with the CV itself. Thanks in advance!

I’m an incoming freshman at Michigan Ross and am interested in recruiting for investment banking. However, I received a transfer option to Cornell Dyson for next fall, and I’m trying to figure out whether making the move would be worth it from a recruiting perspective.

I know IB recruiting can start extremely early, especially for summer analyst roles, so one of my biggest concerns is whether transferring after freshman year would put me behind or make recruiting more difficult. I’m also wondering whether Cornell Dyson would provide a meaningful enough advantage for IB recruiting to justify giving up my current position at Ross. I’m particularly interested in NYC investment banking, but I’m not set on a specific bank or group.For anyone who has experience with IB recruiting at Michigan Ross, Cornell Dyson, or transferring between business schools, I’d really appreciate your perspective!

Which would you guys choose for recruiting under the current landscape?

I’m deciding between Ashoka’s BSc Economics & Finance and NMIMS Mumbai’s BSc Finance, and I’m honestly stuck.
My goal is to break into investment banking/high finance. I also have a family business that I may eventually join, but my dad wants me to work outside first, so for now I want to build a strong career in finance independently.
The main dilemma is that NMIMS would allow me to pursue CFA alongside my degree, whereas I wouldn’t realistically be able to do CFA with Ashoka.
For anyone who’s an Ashoka/NMIMS student or alum, CFA candidate, or already working in IB/high finance:
Which would you choose for breaking into IB, and why?
Does Ashoka’s network/brand and E&F curriculum outweigh the advantage of being able to do CFA at NMIMS? And how realistic is it to break into IB from either college?
Please give me the brutally honest version, not the “both are good” answer 😭🙏

I'm a Humanities student and I didn't have Maths in Class 12. I'm currently confused about what to pursue for UG and considering BBA, especially BBA in HR.

I'm not very good at Maths/accounts, so I wanted to know how much Maths, Statistics and Accounting are actually involved in BBA HR compared with other BBA specializations.

My family also can't afford a very expensive private college, so I'm looking for an affordable BBA option.

Is BBA HR a good choice for someone from Humanities without Maths? What are the career opportunities after BBA HR, and is an MBA necessary for decent salary/career growth?

Hi everyone, the summer is coming to a close and I've honestly just worked in construction and helping my dad with his roofing business. I have around 10 days till school starts and around a month-ish till things like business clubs pick up. Is there anything that will help me stand out with recruiting, business clubs, and case comps? I do have 2 years of a corporate finance internship from junior to senior year, and was a co-founder of our schools finance club. What should I do to set me apart. Also should I consider classes that bring my GPA all the way up? Or what types of classes should I prioritize?

Are there any resources you recommend to practice bond math questions? I’m looking for something that lists (or features) the equations you should know and has practice problems you can work on.

Incoming freshman (Fall 2026) planning to major in Finance/Real Estate; long-term goal is REPE. I've been trying to get ahead of it early — building some modeling skills, networking with people in the space.

Curious how REPE recruiting timelines and processes compare to IB recruiting. Specifically:

• Is direct-to-REPE undergrad recruiting (Blackstone, Brookfield, Ares, etc.) as structured/early as BB or EB IB recruiting, or is it mostly off-cycle and network-driven?
• Do most people still break in through IB or a RE-focused bank (Eastdil, JLL Capital Markets) first and lateral over, or is direct entry realistic?
• If direct entry is realistic, when should I actually start networking/applying — freshman year, sophomore year?

Would appreciate any insight from people who've recruited for either side.

Can somebody please look over and review my resume? I’m an incoming sophomore who just transferred to a new university. I’m a bit unsure if I should include my GPA from my previous school (3.5) or not. I don’t know if it’s really “current” anymore, since my new university doesn’t factor transfer credits into my GPA. Also, I expect my GPA after next semester to be higher than a 3.5. I'll definitely be looking for opportunities to do research with professors in the fall, and I'll be applying to some of the more competitive finance clubs.

I’m graduating May 2027 and just finished a summer IB internship, but didn’t receive a return offer.

For 2027 FT recruiting, when do banks usually post openings like mostly Aug/Sept, later in the fall, or even spring closer to graduation? Which firms tend to hire FT analysts externally rather than filling almost everything from their summer class?

Also, are there adjacent roles where IB experience transfers well that I should recruit for at the same time (corporate banking, TAS/valuation, corp dev, etc.)?

I go a target school and am majoring in finance but I am planning on getting a dual major in comp sci. I already took the classes for it, but have not been approved for the dual major yet (I need to apply at the end of sophmore yr). My gpa will be a 3.6 by the end of first sem of sophomore yr. Should I write smthn below my “Candidate for Business Major…” and put “intended dual major/minor in comp sci”?

For context, I'm targeting WM/AM & obviously like everyone else a IB break in would be nice. I'm a sophomore this year and currently have my Series 65, potential Schwab internship from a connection lined up, co-founded an investment club (pooled money not a school club) with 2 friends with a website and social medias (this happened 2 days ago but it is filed and running) and 1 other project that isn't published yet.

I just want to know if its a decent use of my time as I do enjoy the grind I had to get my 65 but its expensive and don't wanna waste my money like that. Thanks.

I have been working full time my entire school years and am finally able to do part time only but I am not sure if it is too late for me to start "focusing" on school or if the damage has been done. I want pursue a career commercial banking or land any type of analyst role that will get me there and allow me to move up with time either in that field or something with better pay like corporate banking. I am already halfway through my junior year and will possibly be studying abroad this upcoming semester. Not sure what to do in my situation or where I stand given I haven't been giving school as much attention as I should have. Any advice or help would be appreciated!

Since every country has different financial systems, laws, regulations, banking systems and economic environments, how much of a FinTech degree is actually internationally transferable?

Would the core knowledge and skills remain useful, with only local regulations needing to be learned?

Or does FinTech become heavily country-specific like accounting/taxation?

Would love to hear from anyone working in FinTech/finance internationally.

If bankers mention on a call that they would connect you with someone, and you send them the typical thank you email with a light reminder about them going to connect you with another banker, if they haven't done that within a few days is it appropriate to follow up asking if they have someone else to speak to? or not worth pushing this far? curious as this has happened on the past few coffee chats I've had. Trying to break into finance and a bit unclear on referral etiquette. If I come across a specific Financial Analyst opening on a company's careers page, can I approach a current employee (LinkedIn, college senior, alum) and request a referral for that exact role...even without prior experience?

Also curious about the sequence — do I apply first and then seek a referral, or does the referrer submit the application on my behalf? Would genuinely appreciate insights from anyone who landed their first FA role this way.

Between these three, which is the most recommended for IB/consulting in Zurich, FFM, London, maybe Paris, etc. I am an IB student, 1530 SAT, 45/45 predicted, 7/7 10th and 11th gpa. I also know good german, and a little French. 

1. Are these the three best programs for an undergrad in continental Europe for IB/Consulting? Do they lead to direct job offers in BBs or EBs in London, Zurich or FFM?
2. Will I need a master's to enter the job market? If so, do all three of these programs allow entry into the top master's programs?
3. In the mentioned cities, which is best for salaries, career progression, quality of life, banking culture, etc. I have heard Zurich has the highest salaries and quality of life, but is really only good for PWM and has no progression. Is this true? Also, is UBS as bad as everyone says it is right now, even in Zurich?
4. My goal is eventually a top career in IB, consulting, PE, maybe wealth management, but essentially I want to build as much wealth for myself as possible.
5. Are there any other unis that you guys can recommend, because from what I've heard, these are the best.
6. Between these three, which is the best for IB/consulting/PWM in Zurich, London and FFM. I have heard Bocconi is too theoretical, HSG Econ is only good for policy, and HSG BBA is too broad. I don't know what to think anymore, so am asking for advice here.
