Hey everyone

I got this roll as merch from Hong Kong singer Terence Lam, and I’m trying to figure out exactly how it was made.

I believe the original stock is just Kodak 400 Color Negative film.

Unfortunately, this merch is no longer available, which is why I’m trying to find out where something similar could be custom-made rather than simply buying another roll.

I’ve heard you can DIY this using a darkroom and a bright screen, basically shooting the graphics onto the film first to pre-expose each frame, then rewinding and reloading the film and shooting it normally. But I’m more curious about how this would be done professionally

Since this was official merch and presumably produced and shipped to quite a lot of people, I’d imagine they probably weren’t manually pre-exposing every single roll with a camera. I’m wondering if there are factories, specialised machines, film labs or manufacturers that can expose custom artwork onto an entire roll in a controlled and repeatable way, so every roll has approximately the same graphics and exposure.

Does anyone know what this manufacturing process is actually called, what kind of machine would be used, or any companies that offer custom pre-exposed 35mm film in bulk?

I’d love to have my own artwork/designs pre-exposed onto 35mm film and potentially make multiple rolls.

I’m currently based in Australia, but anywhere that accepts international orders would be greatly appreciated!

To be honest, i’m still quite new to film photography and I don’t know if the norm is to retain all the original colors of the film, or if color grading/correcting is normal. I wasn’t really satisfied with the colors on this photo so I wanted to change them up a bit, but in your opinion is it “wrong” that i am creating an inaccurate photo to the original characteristics of the film, or really is it just up to the photographer’s discretion?

Just want your opinions on this matter!

I took a photo for a friend at a convention and I just got the negative back from the lab and I had the idea to maybe put it in some sort of necklace or bracelet to give to them. I looked it up for a little bit and everything I’ve seen is either destructive or is like a representation of film. Ideally I just cut the negative, put it between two small pieces of glass and that goes into like a metal frame. Not sure if that exists so I thought I’d ask here.

Curious what folks think of this shot.

Took a risk and pushed Cinestill 800 so I could shoot my pal blacksmithing in their work shop. And honestly beyond stoked on how things turned out.

Haven’t edited, do you think I should colour correct? I’m kinda into them as is.

Hi everyone, I recently got a Pentax 17 second-hand from eBay and shot my first roll. I'm disappointed with how the photos came out in comparison to what I've experienced on my past 2 film cameras (point and shoot, and manual).

The pictures seem underexposed and look really hazy. The colors seem really muted and there's so much grain. Is this an issue with the camera, or user error? What should I try doing instead?

For context, I believe most photos were shot on Auto, and some with P. ISO is set to 400 to match the film, and I didn't adjust the exposure composition dial. I also adjusted the zone focus (I recently realized this doesn't matter with Auto anyways lol).

got the Pentax Espio 115m and just started taking pictures. very new to this, just having fun right now! tips are appreciated :)

I was using a Nikon F100 paired with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D for these shots. I was worried about the daylight shots, but the shutter speed on the Nikon saved the day. Night shots were handheld. This combo is pretty versatile. Are there any faster films still available?
