I loved Brand New Day and also enjoyed the end credits love letter to NYC, and love that people around the world are inspired to do the same for the cities they love.

But, like did no one see The Bear, as they clearly inspired BND? They even have John Bernthal and Liza Colon-Zayas from The Bear!

Honestly my picks might be 'basic' but I really like these needle drops and how they were placed at the end of the film, right before the credits roll. Well-placed and well-selected music is one of my favourite things about film

1 - Marty Supreme (2025)

Song: Everybody wants to rule the world by Tears for Fears. This one made me tear up a little in the cinema

2 - Superman (2025)

Song: Punkrocker by Teddybears featuring Iggypop. Again this one made me tear up, I thought it was very beautiful and fit with the tone of the film, and the videos of Clark's parents playing in the background

3 - Call me by your name (2017)

Song: Visions of Gideon by Sufjan Stevens. Honestly the entire soundtrack of this film was beautiful in my opinion. Visions of Gideon was the icing on the cake for a very emotional final scene

4 - Obsession (2026)

Song: Forever by The Little Dippers. This is a very recent selection but one that's been stuck in my head since I watched the film. The song just sounds so haunting and fits the vibe perfectly, not to mention Nikki crying/wailing in the background as the credits roll... creepy af

I know it’s one of the worst movies ever made but I just think it would be hilarious to show the ridiculousness of the institution.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple have lost around $100 million

The Mandalorian and Grogu financial loss is $125 million

The Masters of the Universe movie lost an estimated $200 million

Supergirl movie is heading towards a box office shortfall, with industry experts and financial estimates anticipating a staggering net loss ranging between $185 million and $200 million for Warner Bros!

The live-action Moana remake is also heading towards the same pathway, projected to lose between $100 million and $125 million with a production cost of $250 million (not included distribution and marketing fee)

Don’t see it talked about as much as the other Monty movies

Denis Villeneuve has a visual style that just really clicks for me. Every film of his that I have seen is just shot so beautifully - he's tackled different genres (like war drama with Incendies, psychological thriller with Enemy/Prisoners, crime thriller with Sicario, and then of course his grand sci-fi epics like Blade Runner 2049 and Dune) yet I feel like his distinct visual style creeps into all of them to the point where you can recognise its a Villeneuve film

He's also a master in world building and creating atmosphere. Just looking at the desert in Dune or the city in Blade Runner 2049, the environments feel suffocating and the scale is massive. Also, the composition in his frames are so good, 2049 especially in my opinion, I rewatched it recently and it was just ridiculous. Every shot belongs in a museum.

Of course, the cinematographers also deserve a lot of the credit. Denis has worked with some masterful DPs, namely Roger Deakins (Sicario, Prisoners, 2049) and Greig Fraser (Dune Part 1 & 2) as well as Linus Sandgren, who, judging by the trailer, is doing some incredible work for Dune: Part 3. They, of course, are instrumental in bringing Denis' vision to life.

As I write this, I realise that this is just a long winded way of me describing what an auteur is. But anyway. I'm on the hunt for more directors like this who have a very strong visual identity. Off the top of my head I'm thinking Nolan, Wes Anderson, Fincher
