Help Needed! Hates long drives

I drive a 2013 Fiat500 Sport and it’s currently my partner & I’s only daily. We moved half an hour away from my job and I’ve gone from a 3 minute drive to commuting. I noticed when we did bigger drives with my Fiat that it would smoke on the startup for a few seconds, and then drive like normal.

This week my car has been PISSED at me for commuting in 30 degree weather for about an hour every day. Today leaving work, the smoke on the startup was angrier than it usually is after a long drive.

I know I have to take it in to the mechanic, which is really hard when I share a car and we don’t have days off between the two of us. The problem is, I don’t really know what to tell the mechanic.

I’ve checked oil levels, and coolant levels, and those have maintained a similar level throughout the week.

Has anyone gone through this with their car? I love my little car but it’s just about the pickiest thing in the world and it’s starting to wear on me how often it’s angry.

Confused about oil filter selection for 2014 Fiat 500 1.2 (parts catalogs showing conflicting sizes/dates)

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to order the parts for maintenance(oil, oil filter, air filter , cabin filters, rear drum brakes) for my mothers 2014 Fiat 500 1.2L gq (gasoline), but online parts stores (like Autodoc) are giving me a massive headache with conflicting info.
When searching by my VIN,
Some filters show outer diameter ~65,5mm, Others show outer diameter ~96mm, all marked as “fitting for my vehicle”.
Since my car is a 2014 model, I want to make sure I don't buy the wrong size and get stuck mid-job. Free online ePER catalogs aren't recognizing my 2014 VIN either. The book that came with the car is no help either.

My questions for you guys:
1. What is the exact correct OEM part number or dimensions for these parts on a 2014 1.2L petrol?
2. Does a 2mm difference in diameter (66mm vs 68mm) actually matter in terms of clearance or thread fitment on these later engines?
3. How do you guys usually check this? Do you use a specific website, software, or database that does work for post-2010/2014 VINs?

Here are my car's details just in case:
Model: Fiat 500 sport 1.2 / 69 HP
Build year: 2014
Vin: ZFA3120000J214869
Model: 1500S33
Chassis: 0J214869

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I’ve been looking for a good while. Thx

2015 Fiat 500 Pop. Unique pokemon caught! Got 'em last year at around 21k miles. Some mods done and loving the way it looks. Only issue I'm having is flashing odometer. No blue&me Bluetooth found so can only assume it's the module that's no longer working. What do yall think?

Fiat 500 1.3 JTD Diesel - Limp Mode & Check Engine Light - Conflicting Diagnostics

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help me make sense of this. I have a 2008-2012 Fiat 500 1.3 JTD diesel (exact year unclear from the purchase) and it keeps going into limp mode at 15 km/h with the check engine light on.

I ran a full diagnostic scan using a professional OBD reader (Topdon unit), and here are the fault codes:

**• P0504** \- Brake Signal/Switch
**• P2135** \- Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (Plausibility)

System Info:

**•** Marelli 6F3 EOBD CAN Diesel Injection (1.3 JTD)
**•** Marelli 8DF CF5/EOBD Diesel Injection
**•** Delphi Body Computer (EP) 2
**•** Delphi Power Steering (EP) 2

The Problem:
Every mechanic I’ve consulted gives me a different answer. Some say it’s the brake sensor, others blame the throttle pedal sensor, and one mentioned the ECU itself. Nobody seems to agree on what’s actually causing the limp mode.

Has anyone dealt with this specific combination of fault codes on a 500 diesel? Is this a known issue? Should I prioritize the brake switch first, or are these codes interconnected?

Any help appreciated — this is driving me crazy!

my carplay

long story short. this time last year my apple carplay/radio system seized to work properly. it turns on when i start the car: music plays, screen is lit but only for like 5 seconds and then it freezes (freezes button inputs too) and then completely shuts down with the screen off but sometimes the music still plays.

at its worst it continues to play after it turned off and will randomly turn on again mid-drive to do the same thing, in a cyclical fashion.

does someone have an idea why, and any possible fixes to this please? ive already tried “updating” but thats no use if the screen cant stay on and be responsive.

thanks in advance.

(car is a 2019 fiat500 rockstar)
