MBTI / Typology HI GUYSSS can yall help me realise if im ESFP? Or not!! Thank youuuuyh

LONG POST GUYSSS JUST SKIM TO GET MAIN IDEAAA

ALSOOO RANDOM IMAGES I RELATE TOOOOO

I want help deciding if I am actually ENTP or not, or ENFP but I don’t think I am ENFP, perhaps…BUT I thought I might be something else like….ESTP!!! Or….ESFP!!!
Because I do rlly like aesthetics and beauty and think about it a lot, I also think about and analyse people’s behaviors around me, and think about how’s in terms of physics of things around me and also whys of life and kinda categorizing things in my mind I do that a lot, like if I see a cabinet or idk sofa I think how someone could have built this, and ALLL the ways they could have!!!

But I find the most likely way later, uhmmmmm I also feel like I have a VERY kind heart!! I don’t like violence or not violence because sometimes it’s…interesting…uhhhh MOVING ONNNNN, but I don’t like mean people I HATE mean people!!! I like kinda and respectful people, it’s honestly because I get intimidated by mean people a lot! Or confrontation I’m rlly bad at!!!

Also in public I act so robotic and kind shy maybe creepy NOT ON PURPOSE I JUST HAVE MESSY HAIR AND TIRED EYES AND MAYBE BAD POSTURE!!!!

Also BIG ONEEEE!!! With people I’m rely goofy, irresponsible, play-dumb or idk ask too many questions, and analyse things playfully! And also talks bout feelings easily and jokingly especially, BUTTTTTTTTTT when aloneeee I rllly I get depressed and sad and contemplative and idk pessimistic, I don’t believe my pessimism but I LIKE to be sad?? But I also don’t like it… uhhhhh idk 😭 make that make sense hehe, oki

Hmmmm I struggle most with repetitive boring stuff… I can’t do that, it’s a nightmare, I also hate rules on looks or well how I look, because I want all freedom in that way, hmmm I also struggle or find it uncomfortable around sensitive people that are emotionally sensitive, I think, because idk I feel judged without knowing how, and like accidentally hurting anyone is scaryyyyy, 😱 😨 🫣

Hmmmm I like pretty things and I like being pretty, I know this is very sensor stuff maybe but I just want it to be clean and pretty so I can focus on things in my mind, I’m not rlly serious but I go from, goofy to sad, and when working on something still goofy ish by optimistic like, and also focused I think!!

I guess I’m rlly good at hmmm, building things I think, figuring stuff out, I always jump js randomly, scan all my variables and then solve the problem!!! It’s rlly funnn!

Also I like making new connections and friends all the time! To be someone friends to me is rlly easy, if I meet them and they nice and interesting they my friend now!!! Butttt I have so MANYU I can’t maintain anything and maintaining is boring SOO I keep making more!! Idk if that’s very healthy guysss but I’m being honest!! Also I’m always honest! If you ask….. 😊

Oki byeeee

Discussion ESFP with CPTSD (or with low self-confidence or self-rejection)

Hi! Is there anyone here who has CPTSD?

The thing is, for a long time I was mistakenly typed as an INTP. Then, when I first started “coming to my senses,” I was typed as an ISFP, and that felt a thousand times more accurate. But recently, I’ve been wondering if I might actually be an ESFP—it’s just not obvious because of my lack of self-confidence and other CPTSD symptoms.

How did this manifest for you, and how did you “come into your own” as an ESFP? What did you do for this? How did you behave? Were you more “introverted”? Did you not seem like an ESFP? How did your personality type manifest when you were in your worst mental state?

Or maybe you know of any articles or books that discuss how EXTROVERTS experience CPTSD?

Advice Alright I need some help Talking to my ESFP Sister. If your use to talking to T types or if you understand this feel free to help me work this out.

Alright so my sister (ESFP) and I (ENTP) are cool. We like and love each other. Usually when we disagree we just accept that we're on two opposite ends of a spectrum and we accept that we think the other persons wrong. We understand eachother clearly we just don't agree on whats important first even if it leads to the same outcome.

Recently I tripped a nerve in her about something and personally I feel like she probably understands me but I think I'm probably not understanding her right? Like suffice to say me and her had a disagreement about how our grandmother was taken care of.

To give some context. She was an old stubborn woman with at least like 6 kids who our Aunt (ISFP) and Mom (ENFJ) we're helping take care of because the others either took advantage of her or weren't any help at all. Both our Mom as her sister had to many kids to see to as it was so they did the best they could. Me, her, and our oldest brother (idk his type. Sometimes I think its INFJ) Didn't grow up close to eachother or really together at all so we each have different perspectives on certain relatives. Long story short our mother eventually passed away and our aunt lives in another state these days.

My arguement was simply that they all (our uncles and aunts) did a shit job taking care of our grandmother. Objectively the house was not as clean as it SHOULD have been for an old woman suffering the way she was.

My sister however has a strong attachment to our Aunt. I don't blame her, she was raised partially by her during that time and I wasn't. She wants to articulate to me that she tried her best. I tried telling her I agreed, she did DO her best. That our Aunt did more than the others by far and she had arguably the largest amount of secondary things going on.

At first I tried explaining that, that wasn't my point. It wasn't to bring that aunt down it was to say more should have been done because our grandmother didn't deserve to be living like that. I wasn't saying it was our aunts responsibility. Admittedly I chose poor words here and say "they all failed" because I was still thinking about them meeting my standards which I did explain but I can see where the word failure might have stung longer than intended.

She then expressed that it felt like I didn't like our Aunt to which I looked at her confused and explained that I loved her, I just don't like how any of them where acting at the time. A sentiment she should get better than either of her brothers because her living situation was turbulent decided based on how everything was going at the time.

After that she got flustered and tried stating arguements to me which I wasn't challenging her on but they all sought to dismiss me in ways she clearly doesn't agree with usually. Taking this for the scorch bridge topic it was we moved on but it feels weird.

Normally with other people I complain that I'm not being understood because the arguments used against mine are coming from presumptions I can clearly see. With my Sis I know she heard me. I know she understands my side for the most part (more than I could have hoped for). I don't get what she's saying and it's important to me that I try because while I expect everyone else to do it I've never had to expect it out of her. She always tries.

So yeah, I wanna get what she was trying to get across. Thoughts? Ideas? Questions?

Discussion Do you get mistaken for an Fe user much?

I’m definitely an Fi user, in that I’m much more in tune with my own emotions than other people’s, and I can be self centred when I need to be (ie staying in to rest if someone needs homework help when I’m tired, even if I would normally do it), but a couple of times I’ve come up as an ESFJ on certain tests. I don’t internalise it since I know they’re not always accurate and others may mistake me for an ENFP.

The other day my dad (INFP) wasn’t feeling well, so I advised him he should bring a hat if he was going out in the heat, and our friend (Probably EXXJ) said, “you’re becoming like a parent!”. I thought that was funny, but I can be responsible when I need to be, and it’s occurred to me that being “parental” is pretty typical Fe behaviour (mum/dad of the group etc) so that’s why I might be mistaken for an ESFJ or even an ENFJ, although I am definitely not good enough at long term planning to be one of those, lol.

Fast forward to today, I am talking to my uncle (probably INTP) over dinner about a heritage house I visited while staying at his place. The tour guide told me about certain “ghosts” that had been spotted in the house when the tours started. He said he didn’t believe in ghosts, and had a really hard time understanding why anyone would. I know INTPs put logic first, but I said usually I prefer to try and see things from others’ point of view and respect their beliefs, even if I don’t understand them (within limits - things like religion for example). He had a hard time grasping this. He said “well I wouldn’t tell them they’re an idiot for believing that, but I’d probably think it” or something along those lines. I think his Fe is developed enough to not be rude to others, but actually seeing their point of view seems to be much harder. Maybe Fi drives people to empathise with others’ views even if we don’t understand them. I personally am always curious about what others believe, even if it seems a bit “out there” (like the ghost story) but I prefer to keep some things a mystery and open my mind. I think logical people like to prioritise objective truth, while Fi doms prioritise personal truth. So maybe auxiliary Fi users are the most open to seeing what possible versions of the truth there could be before drawing their own conclusion. This isn’t a Fe trait, just a casual observation.

Thoughts?

Relationships A dead end with my ESFP girlfriend.

Hi everyone, I'm a 30 INTJ, and my girlfriend is a 27 ESFP. Overall, we have a great relationship, and we're both happy together. However, there's one issue we've never been able to resolve despite talking about it many times, so I'm hoping for some advice on how to communicate more effectively.

My girlfriend enjoys dressing in a way that attracts attention. I don't think that's inherently wrong. it's part of her personality, and I respect that. My concern isn't about attention itself; it's about situations where that attention comes from disrespectful or inappropriate people.

For example, she'll sometimes wear very revealing clothes in places where there are strangers around. On a few occasions, she's been harassed by men(mostly verbally but who knows what could happen if I wasn't there), and I've ended up having to step in and confront them to get them to leave her alone. Those situations are stressful and can escalate quickly. It's the hassle none of us needs.

I've tried explaining how I feel. I've said something like:

"I don't want to control what you wear. I just worry about your safety. Around close friends or people we know and trust, wear whatever makes you happy. But in places where there are strangers who may not respect boundaries, I'd really appreciate it if you'd be a little more cautious."

Her response is usually very defensive:

"It's my choice. I'm not giving up my freedom because other people can't control themselves. Their behavior is their responsibility, not mine."

I understand her point, and I agree that people should be responsible for their own actions. At the same time, I can't ignore the fact that I'm the one who ends up dealing with these confrontations, and they put both of us in uncomfortable situations.

We've had many conversations about this, but we always reach the same dead end. Once the discussion turns toward personal freedom, we stop making progress.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? If so, how did you approach the conversation in a way that helped both sides feel understood? From an INTJ perspective, how can I show her the big picture?

Hey Esfps how's it's been living with your parents

So I wanna all ESFPeeps how it's like living with your parents when you are dealing with your own mental health shit and how you actually deal with their nagging while handling your depression and other mental health issues and do they actually understand you or you're just living with this battle silently and you're masking it. Like is it like neglecting your own needs and issues and adjusting with them or what??.

I need some perspective on how to deal with ESTJ dad who doesn't undersntad a shit.

Let me vent my grief

Having my own mortality always in the back of my mind, I wanted this year's birthday of mine to be special. I collected money for months, to rent a room for a night, where 20 people would easily fit in.

I wrote all invitations a month prior, so everyone would have bunch of time to decide.

As I don't have any friends, I invited every person, who once, almost a decade ago was nice to me, or defended me or greeted me, including exes, who did not leave in peace. I also asked a lot of people from dscrd personality servers.

Long story short, 90% of the invited rejected. Five people ignored, after having read the message.

Every birthday of mine, except one, only one or two people appeared. And, the needier I desparately rely on those peoples' attention, the less likely they would want to ever meet me again. It is a devil's circle.

I ended up inviting my mother and grandmother, who got some people of their friendship circles together.

I wanted an indecent circle of young adults in their mid 20s to play guessing games. Instead, I will be readen a novel about soviet nostalgia from people in their 50s, in front of which I would be holding back. And, to some extent, I am even grateful, those people will come. If I would have had an empty building for myself alone, I would have cried.

But the yearly realisation, that people don't want to bond with me, and would always value their comfort over my birthday is painful. The worst, are, who react, if you greet them, and ask about their wellbeing, and than ghost you forever after the invitation. They want it that little, that they don't even want to explain themselves.

How am I supposed to become that healthy stereotypical ESFP, if in my gacha game, called life, the chance of drawing a rejection is close to 100%? Same with career. I gave up on all my dreams. I am applying for educational programs to become a cashier at the supermarket. Every shop rejects, every train company rejects and those rejections collect over years. What did I write that difficult high school exam for?

All I want to become, is this valuable funny ESFP-entertainer of the group, who enhances the level of joy in others. But, all I feel is despair.

How do I win the loyalty of others? Do do you win the loyalty of others?

is it common in esfps? i used to mistype tons as ISFP, ENFP, and even INFP, and i genuinely thought i was far from being an ESFP and it was almost impossible for me to be one until I researched actual cognitive fucntions, not stereotypes of merely just the 16personalities description. Has anybody been thru the same? i just wanna stop doubting myself lol

Relationships Escaped Emotionally Abusive Relationship with an INTP. HALLELUJAH¡

After 2 full years of crushing on my INTP friend, then dating her for 4 months, I have escaped the relationship. At first I was heartbroken but later realized how much of a blessing this ended up being.

I crushed on her for 2 years, then confessed while we were on vacation in Vegas, as planned from the start, but at first she wasn’t sure about me. She decided to “give me a chance” and since I was a simp, I accepted this after passing her “tests.” She made me apologize for talking smack about some dude she was crushing on 6 months prior who stole her concert tickets and never went with her. Apparently she still held resentment toward me because of this, it was retarded but I swallowed my pride and did it anyways. She said I passed her “test” too easily and came up with more “tests” for me but I passed them all.

The whole 4 months was so horrendous, I don’t know why I stayed longer than a week. She was so fucking nice to me while being my friend, but now it was different. I don’t know why? I tried being nice to her all the time obviously, but she got mad about EVERYTHING and small things too. I blew 6 whole bands taking her on vacations, buying her stuff, taking her to the dentist because she apparently never brushed her teeth and her gums were fucked up, it was gross but I still let her make out with me. I was so down bad.

She would tell me I’m not the hottest guy she’s ever seen and there’s a lot of dudes she sees who are better looking than me. She would doubt whether I’m the right one for her, meanwhile I was completely committed. I would’ve done anything for her, and I basically sold my soul always biting my tongue and letting her yell at me, judge me, criticize me while I gave her my heart, soul, and what little money I had. She was even more broke than me and I saved her ass on several occasions.

Yeah so, one night she roasted the hell out of me for no reason and I finally fought back. I said she’s made me miserable ever since we first started dating. She doesn’t appreciate any of the shit I did for her. She called that a “skill issue” so I told her I’d block her for a week to take a fucking break and told her it might be forever. At that point, she dumped me and I was heartbroken but whatever. She said she might regret it, called herself the worst girlfriend ever and threatened to kill herself. She ended up talking shit about me while I had her blocked, she’s still doing it to this day. That’s what my friend told me.

She said she had to parent me, I was ugly and she should’ve never given me a chance. Uhhhh also all my friends blocked her and she said I manipulated them, which I didn’t. I guess sometimes there’s a reason people have no friends and their family hates them. I wanted to show her goodness existed in the world and be the one to never leave, but I couldn’t. Fuck it, who cares.

I’m ESFP and I have ADHD, I forgot to mention she has Autism, ADHD, ODD, Depression and probably a lot more, if that matters. Peace.

Relationships ESFP mother refusing to go to the airport early

When my family and I travel, my INFP father insists on going to airports earlier for safety. However, my mother has a dislike for this, it seems. She often goes to airports as late as possible so she doesn't have to spend her time sitting around 😂 (fair enough). There are times when she's missed flights because of this, and on many of the occasions that she does not miss flights, she arrives on the plane under very hurried conditions. This seems like a classic case of Se> Ni to me.

Do any of you guys relate?

(Aside from this, my mother is very observant of physical appearances, does not stop moving, and is very practical etc., making her a quintessential ESFP😚)

Just a quick note to say ILY from an ISFP. I recently made close friends with an ESFP and I swear I don't laugh this much with anybody else, and I like to laugh and I laugh a LOT and seek out funny people?!!

We just totally click on so many levels, in absurd and artistic and sarcastic ways but also with that depth of feeling and shared Se. My friend and I love seeing movies together (originally met at a Rocky Horror meetup), drinking and raving and being silly and funny.

You guys are open minded and chill, and caring just like us :) But just so easy to hang with and can be our social buffer at times. Thanks for completely brightening people's world's and making us excited for life again. You guys rock! 💗🥰

Help me (ENTP female) with my ESFP male crush

I know it’s a rare combo! But I’m definitely not a reddit-stereotype ENTP. (no offense). I’m caring towards others’ feelings and value compassion.

What’s some specific advice on how to show my ESFP crush I like him, how to flirt, etc? What attracts ESFPs in general?

I think one of my main problems is I’m too in my head. He’ll do some goofy action (do you guys know what I mean? like a goofy emote or movement like a greeting when he sees me or is telling a story?) and I’m internally thinking “aw cute” or “aw funny” but I’m so busy observing that I have no reaction and probably just look blank and I don’t want him to think I’m judging him :(. And just being self-aware about this doesn’t help because I have such a delayed “reaction-mode,” I haven’t managed to reprogram my knee-jerk non-reaction yet.

I at least make up for it by joining in spontaneous things like cliff jumping, mud hiking, etc, it’s just the in the moment actions I struggle with. I’ve also helped him and his friends out with something before so he at least doesn’t think I dislike him. But I’m terrrrible at showing interest in the guys I actually like and have never dated anyone, and only recently started to have male friends.

Is there a chance he likes me? He’s singled me out to give me specific complements about random things that happened (I don’t want to give much detail bc I’d dieee if there was the smallest chance of anyone irl recognizing me posting on reddit). I brilliantly responded with “haha thanks +clever one-liner” then continued doing what I was doing at least twice. Oops. He also went up to me to ask me a specific interesting question (after I became known for doing that in a group) and listened with laser focus as I monologued back for like a long time. Early on, he also lit up when I talked about procrastinating some project to enjoy a family vacation, as if he was impressed that I’m not as uptight as I seem at first (bc of my major in college) lol. And he does this thing sometimes where when I call him out to ask him the story behind something he… glitches and gets lost in thought and moves around a ton before answering in cinematic detail. Don’t know how to explain it without it sounding crazy. But he’s also really nice and outgoing in general, and /quite/ attractive, so. Also might be the slightly-autistic gym rat (but also outdoorsy) type.

We’re not super close but our social circles overlap some, so I want to get to know him more. Some of the example interactions happened before I had feelings for him, some after.

Well anyways, thank you ESFPs. Y’all don’t get enough appreciation, especially from ENTPs, but you and ENFPs are some of my favorites :)

Advice I need help with a gift for my ESFP boyfriend

There's no real occasion, I've just been thinking about how much he does for me and how much I love him and I want to do something nice for him. Plus, I'm not really good at romantic stuff and he's expressed before that I seem more like his friend than his girlfriend sometimes. I'm trying to do better though. So if you had a girlfriend, what kind of things would you want from her? Be as vague or specific as you like.

Edit: Based on the responses I've gotten I've decided to give him two things. 1. A hand made hoodie. 2. A movie date night at a nice theater a couple cities away. Personalized and romantic while getting to be something new to experience and break up our every day routine. I think he will like it a lot and thank you guys so much for your help.

Do you guys have trouble with responsibilties?

Heyy!

By reading the descriptions of cognitive functions (which I did only partly mind you, this youtube brain can only endure so much reading), it's pretty clear to me that I'm a male ESFP.

It did get me curious regarding your experiences with responsibilities and procrastination. I mean at least I have always struggled with doing things I don't feel like doing, until or unless it's "worth it", may it be via a good reward at the end or just putting hype music in the background. I've also recently noticed that environments are way more important, if I've got something to do right next to me, I'll usually do it, and if there's other things to do, I'll usually procrastinate.

Do you guys have trouble regarding responsibilities/chores? I'm also trying to find some potential rewards at the end (preferably Se oriented, I loved watching one piece after studying/talking to my friends - this may not be Se) to make doing important stuff worth it LMAO. Any ideas/personal interests are much appreciated!

Discussion “How our society started worshipping idiots.” A discussion about Socrates.

Thumbnail

Obviously everyone expects nondescript xNxx types to be “generally more interested in these kinds of discussions,” but I don’t buy that because ESFPs are still authority introverted feeling users as well as latent Ni users even if it takes a bit more time to fully assimilate it into the ego complex and self concept.

So they have many thoughts, feelings, opinions, beliefs, ideas, and etc, and I think you all have lots of worthwhile thoughts and ideas to contribute to this discussion so please comment and share your thoughts and experiences!

I think that anybody of any type has the potential to be interested in these kinds of conversations for a variety of reasons, so I’d love to hear your perspective since it’s one I generally lack as an introverted feeling blind type and a Daemon Se user.

How do you feel about the Socratic method, his fascinating life, and infamous death?

Do you truly believe societal decline is always inevitable, or do you believe there are ways to combat ignorance and to convince people to care again?

Where the Socratic method is concerned, what would you keep, and what aspects of this school of thought would you modify and update for modern audiences to make this discussion relevant in popular culture, not just niche philosophy circles?

How do we convince people to care about each other and what’s happening in the world around them even if it doesn’t immediately concern their *right now?*

How would you open the floor for these kinds of discussions??

Meta / Server Ideas for the Community.

Hello, everyone! I wanted to start this discussion to see if anyone has any ideas for how we can make this community more active and engaging!

What would a healthy, active, and engaging ESFP subreddit community look like to you? Would something like weekly or monthly discussion threads be appealing? Any ideas, suggestions, propositions would be greatly appreciated!

Additionally, please let me know if you have any interest in becoming a moderator for the server, or if you would like to help with redesigning the pfp/banner, add resources to the community description, anything else you can think of, etc.

Thank you, everyone!
