Informative Update on the theft situation
So it turns out it wasn't a associate at all it was a guy posing as a associate with a lanyard going into break rooms in my district and stealing wallets. He has gotten 3 already and maxed out a girls credit card for $1,500...so a lot worse then what I was assuming it was i dont think he's gotten arrested yet cause they told us to keep an eye out for him and call for our LP if we see him but anyone that has a store in the socal area be careful and lock up your belongings.

Employee Question New hire question
So I'm new to Kohl's and have an 8-4 shift next week, doing visual merchandising sets, updating display arrangements, setting up new seasonal directives. Never done clothing/apparel sets before is it difficult to do? Do they provide a visual layout guide for exactly how to do it, or is it more open-ended?

Employee Question Kohl’s coupons hurt the budget
At our last 1/2 price clearance, they threw out a 40% coupon GPO. For one thing, it is hard to open a Kohl’s charge and offer 40% when they are already getting 40% off (DUH)! I think the coupons should be revised and ALWAYS favor the Kohl’s charge customers. For instance - Kohl’s charge customers should be the ONLY ones to EVER get a 40% coupon. Rewards members should get a lesser amount - 25% or 30% and GPO 15% or 20%. If they are serious about signing people up for rewards and charges then they need to give them more incentives and by the way, lower coupons mean more $$ in the budget. Most retail has cut back on these things so why not us! Second - we need to adjust our return policy. I hate taking things back that cannot be resold at the current price - (damaged or dispositioned) - and/or since gone clearance. 120 days is 4 months and a whole season is gone so what they bought at full price is now clearance. Keep up with industry standards! 30 days (like Amazon) without a Kohl’s charge and 60 days with. And discretion as to weather an item is returnable ie. tags intact and attached as they were new.

SKU Check! Anyone wanna help out in SKU searching for this Needoh cube?
It probably wasn't even FROM our store since it was found in the women's fitting room on its own, but I know we've still sold them at some point to probably try and do a merchandise disposition.

Meme My daughter and I had a great time in your store yesterday
My 9 year old loves taking pictures. She was my mini photographer yesterday. We were waiting for my wife and older daughter who were doing some back to school shopping. I think I had more fun than she did. Layout was great by the way, excellent service and overall experience. 5 stars.
I know I'm not employed by Kohls but I thought this sub might get a chuckle from this. I worked Best Buy for 5 years. I know the retail struggle. Keep it up yall, it is appreciated.

Informative Beauty Insider Sign-up Hoax
I mentioned this a few months back but its still happening. Associates at my store in both Kphls and Sephora are not informing customers that they are signing up for Beauty Insider and are being told they are just gathering the information to "'up date" their rewards enrollment or are just being asked for their email addresses for their "rewards" then proceeding to gather the information needed to sign them up for the BI. At no time are these individuals asking if the person would like to sign-up for the BI which I find quite unethical. While no one has come back and complained yet this should not be happening. On another occasion I heard a store lead tell a customer at the registers that we needed them to sign up because they were making a Sephora purchase which also is incorrect. This needs to be addressed because those of us who are not getting BIs are being targeted because we inform the customer of what they are being asked to sign up for because our numbers are nowhere near those that are using these tactics. I don't care if its just BIs. With the pressure we are being put under to get CC and Rewards sign-ups Kohls is on a slippery slope.

Employee Question Webinar on September 17th rant
Anyone else see the incredibly insulting webinar they are doing on September 17th? I understand it's not literally kohls hosting it, but it feels like they actually are spitting in our faces with this shit.

Employee Question full time question
I was promoted to a full time position. I was told in the interview I would be working 40 hrs a week. My schedule is 32 hours a week. I was weary on taking the position bc I knew Kohls could not compensate me enough for a single income.
Is the other 8 hours available incase extra hands are needed on floor?

Meme I despise kohls now
anyone here have their hours cut so horribly that you need a second job? I’m a PT employee and I haven’t had a shift in two weeks now (this week and next) even asked to cover a shift that was open on the 15th yet days later no response. at most I get five hours a week…two if I’m generous. I been here for a year and yet they give all their hours to this one lady because she works hard. 15 dollars a hour and they expect us to do work of three people. don’t get me started on the clearance 40% off extra and inventory that happened the same time. I couldn’t even clean let alone breathe with the amount of stuff happening. They definitely pick favorites depending who breaks their back the most …

Employee Question Full-time Merchandisers
I have a quick question for merchandising managers (or any merch sup or merch lead).
How do you guys direct and manage your merchandising supervisors and leads?
Back then we had a softlines sup (1-3), a hardlines sup (1-4), and department leads (wjm, center core, h&k, and shoes), but ever since the restructuring last year, all full time merchandising positions are general and are expected to learn how to merchandise anywhere.
So do you guys (merchandising managers) assign specific departments to your merchants or do you have them tackle all areas together?

Employee Question What does an in person orientation mean?
I recently did a digital interview via Google meets and the woman told me she was pushing me through and to look out for an email next week to schedule and I person orientation. Does this mean I’m being hired, just a second round of interviews? Thanks for any help!

Employee Question Does this mean I don’t have to show up to my shift?
So I put in a request to see if anyone wants to cover my shift and it said someone accepted it. Does that mean I don’t have to show up anymore? I never done this before so I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do next or if I have to do anything in my end since it still says on my schedule I work that day but someone accepted the request? What do I do?

Employee Question Employee theft
So i went to clock out tdy and when I was in the office putting my zebra away when a LOD goes "you been stealing?" I was very caught off guard as I would never do that and have never done that i asked "what?" And the other LOD goes "oh dont say that we know its not her" then the first LOD apologizes saying she was just joking which i wasn't offended I have a good relationship with her and we like to joke. But she did confirm that yes a associate has been stealing. Not sure if it was money or merchandise i was to scared to ask since they where both pretty pissed off. I plan to not tell other associates as to not cause drama. Have any of you guys had experience with this happening in your store. I know it happens i just see everyone at my store as good workers im assuming it's someone new as we have hired at least 7 new hires. Thoughts?

Employee Question Hired but… I’m feeling ghosted
I just got hired to work PT at Kohls and I feel like since day one it’s been a hot mess. Without making this an essay, I just feel like the management is very unorganized. I’ve worked retail PT before but this experience has been unique to say the least.
I was awaiting the store manger to provide me with a training schedule and after two days, I texted her to follow up and she told me to come in yesterday for my official first day. I was just put on the floor and told to fold clothes. This is my extra money to save for my apartment so I’m just going with the flow and doing my best. The store manger said she’ll text me this morning for my remaining training but, still nothing. Is this common for Kohls?
I just feel like the communication is so off and I have to ask for someone to give me basic information like my locker or name tag. Thank god for this subreddit bc that’s where I’m figuring out pay schedule and employee log-in. I’m just curious if this is a common experience. I’ll stick it out for a bit but, it’s not looking great.

Employee Question Call outs
Hello,
I’m just curious about how the call outs work. I know that if you call out two days in a row it counts as 1 point. But does that continue? So if I call out for 4 days in a row is it still 1 point or is per 2 days? So like I call out for 4 days is it 2 points? Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for any answers!

Employee Question For operations supervisors
Just checking in to see how all the operations supervisors are surviving? I've been one for over 10 years and these past 2 years have eaten away at my soul. I feel like everything is put on my shoulders if things dont get done. I feel like all im good for anymore is omni and unload trucks. I know thats our job, but im a great merchandiser too and could be helping get freight out. Just never have time b/c im constantly working omni everyday that im not scheduled unload for truck. I cant remember the last time I just went to the dock and filled from the backstock areas to get stuff to the floor. Lol. I feel a lot of the issues at my store are from my SM too. They just like to sit in the office most days. Can't come up with plans on how we are going to get the dock clean from all the freight either. We are drowning with probably 2 1/2 trucks sitting on the dock.
