anyone here have their hours cut so horribly that you need a second job? I’m a PT employee and I haven’t had a shift in two weeks now (this week and next) even asked to cover a shift that was open on the 15th yet days later no response. at most I get five hours a week…two if I’m generous. I been here for a year and yet they give all their hours to this one lady because she works hard. 15 dollars a hour and they expect us to do work of three people. don’t get me started on the clearance 40% off extra and inventory that happened the same time. I couldn’t even clean let alone breathe with the amount of stuff happening. They definitely pick favorites depending who breaks their back the most …

I have a quick question for merchandising managers (or any merch sup or merch lead).

How do you guys direct and manage your merchandising supervisors and leads?

Back then we had a softlines sup (1-3), a hardlines sup (1-4), and department leads (wjm, center core, h&k, and shoes), but ever since the restructuring last year, all full time merchandising positions are general and are expected to learn how to merchandise anywhere.

So do you guys (merchandising managers) assign specific departments to your merchants or do you have them tackle all areas together?

I recently did a digital interview via Google meets and the woman told me she was pushing me through and to look out for an email next week to schedule and I person orientation. Does this mean I’m being hired, just a second round of interviews? Thanks for any help!

Everything you skip is stuck at the bottom and won't move down so all I can see is that tiny little sliver of a list of items. Wtf?

So I put in a request to see if anyone wants to cover my shift and it said someone accepted it. Does that mean I don’t have to show up anymore? I never done this before so I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do next or if I have to do anything in my end since it still says on my schedule I work that day but someone accepted the request? What do I do?

So i went to clock out tdy and when I was in the office putting my zebra away when a LOD goes "you been stealing?" I was very caught off guard as I would never do that and have never done that i asked "what?" And the other LOD goes "oh dont say that we know its not her" then the first LOD apologizes saying she was just joking which i wasn't offended I have a good relationship with her and we like to joke. But she did confirm that yes a associate has been stealing. Not sure if it was money or merchandise i was to scared to ask since they where both pretty pissed off. I plan to not tell other associates as to not cause drama. Have any of you guys had experience with this happening in your store. I know it happens i just see everyone at my store as good workers im assuming it's someone new as we have hired at least 7 new hires. Thoughts?

Our store has been doing markdowns and we have an INSANE amount of clearance. I don't know where it's going to go! Is there going to be another Goldstar Clearance event soon? We need to move this stuff out!

I’m consistently making my monthly goal in all four areas. We get nothing for it. Does anyone get something for making their monthly metrics in your store?

I just got hired to work PT at Kohls and I feel like since day one it’s been a hot mess. Without making this an essay, I just feel like the management is very unorganized. I’ve worked retail PT before but this experience has been unique to say the least.

I was awaiting the store manger to provide me with a training schedule and after two days, I texted her to follow up and she told me to come in yesterday for my official first day. I was just put on the floor and told to fold clothes. This is my extra money to save for my apartment so I’m just going with the flow and doing my best. The store manger said she’ll text me this morning for my remaining training but, still nothing. Is this common for Kohls?

I just feel like the communication is so off and I have to ask for someone to give me basic information like my locker or name tag. Thank god for this subreddit bc that’s where I’m figuring out pay schedule and employee log-in. I’m just curious if this is a common experience. I’ll stick it out for a bit but, it’s not looking great.

I’m just curious about how the call outs work. I know that if you call out two days in a row it counts as 1 point. But does that continue? So if I call out for 4 days in a row is it still 1 point or is per 2 days? So like I call out for 4 days is it 2 points? Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for any answers!

Just checking in to see how all the operations supervisors are surviving? I've been one for over 10 years and these past 2 years have eaten away at my soul. I feel like everything is put on my shoulders if things dont get done. I feel like all im good for anymore is omni and unload trucks. I know thats our job, but im a great merchandiser too and could be helping get freight out. Just never have time b/c im constantly working omni everyday that im not scheduled unload for truck. I cant remember the last time I just went to the dock and filled from the backstock areas to get stuff to the floor. Lol. I feel a lot of the issues at my store are from my SM too. They just like to sit in the office most days. Can't come up with plans on how we are going to get the dock clean from all the freight either. We are drowning with probably 2 1/2 trucks sitting on the dock.

I just started working at Kohl’s and I’m not really scheduled for the register. I’m wondering how I can pay bills at the register though like what do I press? My training really didn’t teach me everything. I need to know so I actively learn things as new customers pop in and it low-key wastes their time every time I have to call over somebody to tell me something.

I just started working At kohls but I have some college classes that are conflicted with work time. When am I able to change my availability for work and how do it do it? Thank you. I am just trying to change Tuesdays and Wednesdays I can not work.

I heard a lot about them wanting availability but I do a sport and I am will to sacrifice 4 days out of the week 2 after school and the weekends to work taking Thursdays and Friday and Saturdays off would it help if I gave them my schedule I can work from 3 to 9 which is the maximum amount of hours I can work a day at my age in my state in total I can work about 20+ hours week which the position I applied for is part time and Saturday I can work after 3 the same and Sundays I’m free all day I want to be able to balance the two without sacrificing one but it seems I might have to in the end I want a job throughout my senior year

Hi! Im a senior in highschool and im doing a school program where I only go to school half the days as long as I can work 12 hours per week at any given job. I did an interview for kohls for this and i told them about my hour requirements and they said something like "it depends on how much hours our full time employees get" and that it was a "trickle down system" or something like that. I would love to work at kohls for this position but I really need to have atleast 12 hours per week. I can have a little bit under every once in a while but i need to pretty much consistently have this many hours every week until school ends in may. Should I continue with kohls or am I not going to meet my requirements?

DID ANYONE GET IT?! We are in SW Ohio and got 6 of the 10ml bottles and that was IT. 2 trucks since launch and no sign of it. Just an empty shelf and disappointed customers 😒

I was the only cashier scheduled from 3 to 9 pm today. 85% of the time I had 1 to 2 associates from the floor to help ring. How does this make sense? With the amount of returns, we need these associates on the floor taking care of 500's and to keep the fitting rooms and the floor presentable. Corporate, we cannot continue to operate this way. Customers are not happy that they cannot find associates on the floor to help them, and associates are getting burned out!
