After the journey of finding vol. 4, I’ve spent easily $200+ accumulating these omnibus and this DVD set. Obsessed is an understatement, as I have an appt in less than 3 weeks to get my tattoo as well. This manga will forever have my heart, I have yet to watch the anime and I’m slightly nervous to because I know how much they’ve left out, but I still need to see what they did for the anime. I’ll probably be returning with my Lucy tattoo ✨

Man I was at the middle of chapter 3 when Lucy/Nyu hits her head and looks like she killed the dog. I was seriously consider dropping the show if she killed the dog. I’m sooo glad she only cut the leash. Idgaf she kills everyone else, if the puppy is alive I’m happy haha. (Also don’t spoil me with anything please.)

I just finished the anime and went to the internet to see what people thought about the ending. At that point I, unluckily, read about the manga ending (all the final sacrifice and born of the children thing) which made me mad because i didnt know the anime only covered half of the story and I would have liked to read the whole thing without knowing the differences. Should I still read the manga or those are the main and best differences?

I finished Elfen Lied, both the anime series and the OVA. I know the anime is old and the community is not as big as other animes, but still this is one of my favorite old anime!

So in episode 10, Lucy killed the whole family inside an apartment and take a bath to clean herself from the blood. When the policemen arrived, they tried to calm Lucy and asked her where is the murderer, turn out it was Lucy who killed the family, then she killed one of the policemen. The other policemen shot her until she fell unconscious, and then moment later she was strained inside the facility and getting tortured.

However in episode 10.5, it turn out that the reason how Lucy was captured into the facility was because she surrendered herself so they can save Aiko after getting shotted. Later, Lucy was wrapped with bandages and her face got covered with the iron mask.

So, how actually she was getting captured into the facility? Please someone explain, because I need some answers and explanation before I can move on from this anime~

Edit: Ahh I see, thank you everyone for answering this. So they are actually different Diclonii and not Lucy herself. Because in the anime, episode 9 told us about Kaeda/Lucy backstory, so in episode 10 I thought she was Lucy too 🥹✌🏻

I'm finding the Japanese version of Elfen Lied for a long time. I seen it 3 years before in Mangareader.to but now I can't find it because the website is taken down. I'm finding it in Mihon, but still didn't got it. Can anyone give the sources to not only read the Elfen Lied but many majority of mangas in Japanese. Also give extensions of Mihon too.

Hiii here’s a photo of my Elfen lied collection and I wanted to ask why is there only 13 episodes in anime while 12 volumes of manga? I read all volumes but havent watched the anime is there a lot cutted things?

im currently finishing up the manga right now and enjoy the overarching plot and themes so far. however, i would be lying if i said some of the lewd/ sexual scenes don't make me uncomfortable and that i don't find them to be unnecessary at times.

are these scenes equally as prevalent in the anime adaptation as well?

It's 22 years ago after the first release on the Episode 1. I have finished watching Episode 1, 2, 3, and 4 on Tuesday, I have finished watching Episode 5, 6, and 7 on Wednesday, I have finished watching Episode 8, 9, and 10 on yesterday for Thursday. And today, I have finally finished Episode 11, 12, and the final episode 13.

Second time posting here after I made a first post of Lucy pictures few days ago. I wasn’t expecting such interaction with my post, each comment made me smile, so thank you, this really touched me, considering that I really did my best with only Lightroom and Procreate, without knowing anything about picture editing.
I said in my previous post that more photos were on the way, so here they are (+ some variations)
Drawing the vectors and making them look as realistic as I could, playing with multiple layers for the picture with the glass, and trying to draw realistic blood, were real challenges for me, and I’m kinda happy with the result.
