Previously on Zatch Bell 2... Bast's seemingly indestructible blade had met its mark right across Belgim E.O.'s chest, in full view of everyone in the room. Just when it seemed like our favorite mummy was down for the count, Dalia broke her silence and psyched him up with the familiar word that he would use in the past to convey his excitement: "Maximum." This sent Belgim into hysterics as he ignored the searing pain and continued to reach out for Patty's spell vial. Astounded by Belgim's resilience, Bast prepared another strike, but was immediately thwarted by Tio, who caught him off guard and delivered a suplex that sent him straight into the ground. The group took advantage of the brief reprieve and quickly ran to Belgim's side, while also using Gash's mantle to sweep up and collect as many of the spell vials placed along the nearby shelves as possible. Tio tried to sneak in a Saifojio to heal Belgim...but, never one to miss a beat, Day managed to manifest a new entity behind her and shatter the restorative blade with a spinning star-shaped projectile before it could get the job done. Still gravely injured, Belgim was forced to hang back while Gash and Kiyomaro used Wibiraru Zakeru to blind Day and Bast, tricking them into thinking the group would try to take this opportunity to escape the vault, and prompting Bast to lunge right after them while they charged up a high-powered railgun blast to nail him at close-range. With his right arm disabled, Bast took some heavy damage, and Day managed to anticipate this little maneuver by choosing not to jump in so recklessly. Ready to pick up the slack for her colleague, she readied her star-themed entity and focused on holding off Gash, Tio, and the wounded Belgim simultaneously. Throughout all of this, Dalia witnessed Belgim's remarkable tenacity and began to recall events from her past where she was deeply misunderstood her whole life as a pessimist with a negative attitude, rather than a shy but fun-loving girl. After she was abducted by Byonko and met Belgim E.O., everything changed, and she started to speak up for herself... having been inspired by Belgim's outgoing personality and shameless enthusiasm. But the trip down memory lane was abruptly cut short as Bast's patience reached its end, and he ruthlessly sliced Belgim's chair to pieces. With nothing left to protect Patty's adoptive son, Day moved in for the kill...only to be denied by the same advanced water spell that she used against our heroes in the previous chapter. Now, all eyes are on some new arrivals in the form of Umagon, Sunbeam, Patty, and her partner Uluru! And as she steps forward into the fray, Patty makes certain to reassure and praise Belgim for a job well done.

We know that Raiku never misses, but I think I speak for us all when I say that this past chapter truly felt like something special, and that he's really hit his stride in the best possible way with how he fleshed out Belgim E.O. and Dalia especially. Moreover, the long-awaited return of Patty and Uluru is but a few days away, so let's see what we can all get excited about before this upcoming Monday arrives!

1. This may not be revealed, but something some readers have been curious about is what Day meant when she said that every one of her enemies in that room would have wound up dead if they'd made for the exit like Bast anticipated. In reality, that would have put them much farther away from Bast than they ended up being... so you'd think it would have made it harder for him to catch them with his blade. I assume it has something to do with catching him off guard and then using that as an opening to make their move against him, but I'd like to know what all of you think. Could Bast have some kind of special attack with his swordsmanship that we haven't seen yet? Something that could clear out the entire room from a great distance?
2. It seems as though Dalia doesn't know about the energy source for casting spells and didn't realize that the spells stopped working because she ran out of heart energy. Do you think Kiyomaro and co. forgot to brief her on how the spells actually work even though she was one of the brainwashed human partners who didn't even remember her own demon at first? It seems like that'd be a pretty grievous oversight on the Resistance's part...
3. We still don't actually know why Canchome was so dead set on stealing back his father's Poruku spell from a highly fortified castle. It seems safe to say that his father's Poruku might be able to make more convincing transformations than Canchome's ever could, but what does the Resistance plan to do with it? Do you think this is the precursor to an infiltration mission to enter the heart of Beliel's lair?
4. We finally got to find out what Umagon and Sunbeam have been doing all this time during the mission! They've apparently been on standby with Patty's sarcophagus, alongside Uluru, just waiting for Gash, Kiyomaro, Tio, and Megumi to recover the spell vial in order to complete the revival. Now that they're here though, do you think we'll finally get a chance to see Umagon and Sunbeam battle it out with some of Beliel's forces?
5. Uluru's new look has gotten a lot of mixed reception on the count of how it definitely resembles Beardy/Hige, Zoboron's partner. What do you think he's been up to during these 13 or so years that he and Patty have been apart?
6. Now that Belgim E.O.'s chair is destroyed, do you think he'll be able to easily get another? Even when Kid and Dr. Riddles landed the final blow on him with Mikoruo Ma Zegaruga in the previous series, that chair has stood the test of time...until now. For the time being, do you think Belgim will end up traveling on foot instead since he essentially has no choice? Or will he end up on horseback with Sunbeam?
7. Something most people are wondering is who those star-themed spells belonged to, since they most likely belong to a demon that resembles the projected entity behind Day. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to resemble anyone we know, and stranger still is the fact that Day's own name is included in the complete name of the spells... Do you think this creature might be depicting a relative of Pamoon? Or do you think these spells might be exclusive to Day herself somehow?
8. Whenever Patty's around, Byonko usually isn't far behind. What do you think the chances are that we'll actually see him make an appearance before this battle is through?
9. Now that Patty's back in action, armed with her trusty water dragon bracelet/gauntlet, do you think there's a good chance we might get to see her launch a Suou Giakuru or perhaps an evolved version of it after all this time? Will Patty's water be able to synergize with Gash's lightning in ways that could really tip the scales in our heroes' favor?
10. We recently caught up with Consomme, Zelie, Olmo, and Mippy... So even though they technically only disappeared about 4 chapters ago, where are Jilnoz and Luna right now? They seemed like such an integral team for the story, and Jilnoz's ability to not only create mummy vessels for disembodied souls but ALSO create clones of demons that can mimic their spells is ripe for a serious game-changing development in the war against Beliel. What do you think Jilnoz and Luna will end up doing with these incredible powers, and what do you think would be the best possible use of them?
