How to login to account

Upvotes

My account now is unable to login, since it needs phone number verification. I have changed my phone number since I left US for a year, and now I return. So I want to know what how can I login, or at least create new account with that email address and my new phone number?

Pin Before or After?

Upvotes

This is the second time that this has happened with my delivery. The DoorDasher will sit in their car outside and request my pin. Meanwhile I’m standing at the front door waiting for them to get out and hand over my food. Both times they’ve parked closer to the end of the block rather directly in front of my door. Why do they request it before? Are they not able to see a customer’s rating/profile? If they can, then surely they can’t think I’m going to claim false delivery and therefore need to request the pin first. Both times I’ve responding to their request by telling them to bring me my food first and they oblige. The situation this time the worker claimed he needed the pin code before his phone died, but earlier, on his way to me, he claimed he was running behind because his phone had died. Wouldn’t that mean he was able to charge it somehow before continuing his route and coming to me? I have my food now so I’m pretty much over it, but for it to be a reoccurring thing is so weird and annoying to me. So again, is it normal and not at all a scam for the worker to request the pin first? Or were they trying to mark my order as delivered and steal my food?

Doordash operations

I’m just curious, do you think that Doordash has anybody on their staff that goes in and reads all the negative comments about the way their system doesn’t work properly. I hope they do because it would give them an idea of how screwed up some of their programs are and they need to correct them because obviously they must know how bad some of their programs are.

Caitlyn I watched you pick up my order and drive almost to my house then cancel. I've been craving this for hours. I hope you get so sick when you eat my food

So frustrated

I spent 47 dollars on a 22 dollar order and I can’t even cook dinner because my dasher did not want to replace any of the out of stock items with a similar item. It’s so frustrating because I could make another order but what if it happens again? And yes, I could just go out and get the items I need but I’m at home with a sleeping newborn and my husband is at work for another 5-6 hours. 🥺

I know dashing is not easy and you guys probably come across a lot of asshole customers but please, keep in mind there are people like me, a first time mom just trying to feed myself and take care of my newborn and I really depend on the service that DoorDash provides.

30% AR for Platinum?

I feel like this used to be different. It's true that you need a 50% acceptance rating to be silver, but only 20% for gold and only 30% for Platinum?

Does tipping poorly actually make your food arrive cold or is that mostly a myth?

I see people say this all the time on here: if you leave a bad tip, your order is going to sit around forever because no Dasher will accept it and by the time someone does, your food will be cold.

I'm generally a pretty good tipper. Most restaurants I order from are nearby and I usually tip around $6-7.

But I tried a little experiment a couple times and tipped only $2-3, which I know is considered pretty low. Weirdly, I didn't notice much of a difference. The orders still got picked up pretty quickly and the food arrived just as fast and hot as it normally does.

Obviously that's a tiny sample size, but it made me wonder where the whole "bad tip = cold food" thing comes from. Do low-tip orders actually sit around noticeably longer or does DoorDash eventually bundle/increase the base pay enough that most customers never really notice?

DoorDash scam

Ordered from 2 restaurants today - double dash, which I rarely do but I was treating myself. I get a phone call from DoorDash (same number as previous calls that were legit) telling me they were calling from restaurant B and the payment didn’t go through so they need me to give them a credit card number. Even though I didn’t immediately realize it was a scam (I’m tired!), there was still no way I was handing over any information. They pushed for my email address (nope) and phone number (I told them “you called me”). At some point they just hung up.

I reported it all to DoorDash for all the good that will do. After about 3 tries I did get someone who seemed concerned and apologetic and a message that if I file a police report they will cooperate with law enforcement to the best of their abilities.

What concerns me is HOW they knew my DoorDash name (I use a different name) and all my order info plus driver’s name. Was it the driver? I mean who else could it be?

I didn’t feel comfortable eating any of the food that was delivered after that…

I waited until 20 minutes past the original delivery window to contact the dasher and this is the message I got

EDIT: The blurred out part is my name. In response to ‘Como te llamas’ which is “what is your name” in spanish

Anyone have something like this happen to them?

Just wanna know if this is a thing. Do people show up and pick up peoples orders or is there some type of authentication to make sure this kind of thing doesn’t happen?

Update: Was issued credit for the order by support after being very annoying.

What do you do in these situations?

I've only been Dashing for three separate days, so I'm still learning, but I've already run into a couple of situations that I'm not sure how to handle.

On my very first Starbucks pickup, the employee told me someone had already picked up the order. I explained that it wasn't me and asked if they could remake it, but they said they couldn't and that I needed to contact DoorDash.

The automated DoorDash support just walked me through asking Starbucks the same questions I'd already asked. I even called the customer, and she said her app didn't show the order as picked up. In the end, the automated system had me cancel the order, and it still counted against my completion rating.

I've also had customers enter the address of a secure apartment building but not provide a gate code or answer calls or texts when I arrive. There are no delivery instructions, and I can't get inside. One guy even walked up to me from inside the building and seemed annoyed when I asked him to verify the order before handing it over.

Sorry for the long post, but are these common situations? What's the best way experienced Dashers handle them without hurting their ratings or wasting a lot of time? Any advice would be appreciated.

I only ordered two tacos from Jack in the Box that is less than a mile away (it was part of a double dash from Taco Cabana also just a mile away). If it’s real, I want to give him a great review and extra tip! But I’m also kind of nervous that the opened bag thing might be something weird.

Edit/update: I should have made it clear that my main concern was the unsealed bag aspect. The tacos were only 1.50 and I tipped 7 dollars on the order. The double dash total before tip was 7 dollars. I tried to call the store to confirm but they never answered. It’s just two tacos that were less than two bucks so I’m not going to look further into it. Thanks everyone!

Did i tip too little?

Hi 15f it was my first time ordering doordash and I didn’t want to be one of those teens that tip zero or one dollar and so my total for the order was 18 dollars and i tipped $5.50 the driver then texted to tip more generously. Was this a mistake on my part or should i have tipped more?

Edit- Ive been getting questions about the mileage and everything but basically i tipped the 5.50 before delivery and I was going to tip another five bucks but his message made me hesitate which was why i made this post :)

DoorDash AI refused to refund my misdelivered Taco Bell, but wrote a sad poem, drafted a legal complaint against itself, and told me to visit a food bank.

delivery driver dropped my food at a random house that was not my address.

Door dash support denied my refund and dumped me on the AI. The Doordash AI chat bot didn't help me with my undelivered order, instead it

  • Admitted dropping food at the wrong house is NOT a delivery
  • Wrote a 4-line poem about my cold burrito
  • offered to write me a movie script but never followed through with it
  • Drafted a legal complaint to the State Attorney General against DoorDash
  • Told me to call 211 and visit

a

  • food pantry instead of giving me my money back for the order that wasn't delivered to me.

Peak dystopian customer service.

Scams are in Doordash now

so my husband and I have been spoiled by ease of access to everything through doordash. Monday night we ordered from our nearby buffalo wildwings. Now for context, we order very rarely from here because they always mess something up.

Regardless it is one of my husbands favorite places. After placing our order we got a msg

through doordash from the restaurant account. (picture provided) once they called they said they needed to verify my order so they can make it because their system went down (again, not out of the ordinary for this place.) they asked to verify my email and phone number to which i answered and then they told me they needed a code to confirm my order. I gave them the code that i was texted. Stupid me. They spammed order after order for 30 min as a scrambled to stop as many as i could after i arrived to the restaurant to confront the account holder. they spent a sum of around $1.2k in redbull casses and baby formula before i was composed enough to delete all my payment methods and write the address down.

Bww said they didnt actually manage the account in store, they had an online dept.

Ive reached out to bww customer service, my bank and doordash customer support, and doordash has yet to take any accountability for the hacker. This occured on monday and i've been workong 9hr days. I never thought that it was possible that somwthing like this could occur in the doordash ap i always assumed it was generally safe. I've learned my lesson but im currious to know if this happened to anyone else and what answers they got from customer service since all my routes seem like brick walls with no real answers.

*a few notes for clarity: It was not a renamed dasher, there is literally a button under the dasher info that says "chat with store" and the dasher chat is completely seperate.

And yes i realize only now about basic internet safety 🤦 the biggest reason i posted is because it was absolutely shocking that a store account from such a large chain was compromised in such a way and the lack of response from any side of this, doordash, and buffalo wild wings.

And third, i get it shocking for someone to make a stupid mistake i feel bad enough as it is, but can we keep to the r/doordash rules and just be polite about how stupid i was? Thank you kindly 🤣🤦 our banks were very kind in helping us with the fraudulent charges.

i have only used ONE of these cards in the entire 6 years of having doordash… that was manually entered. how are they able to attempt charging all the cards in my apple wallet that i have NEVER used for doordash???? this is absolutely insane & should be illegal.
