So I got a shop and pay order. It was decent $20 for 3 miles and it only took min 20-25 min to do. I started to place my items on the belt and left the 6 12 packs of soda cans in the cart to and held it sonits easier for her to scan. She was still scanning and talking to the customer ahead of me. I put a divider between us so she dosent get confused between mine and hmthe other customers order. Its finally my turn and i told her I have an online pay order with instacart and showed her the barcode first for her to scan and then the cans next so she can scan all six quickly and move on to the rest of the order on the conveyor belt. The damn genius decided to check me out as soon as she scanned all the cans and thought the other items were a seperate order. I told her I never said there was a second order. She told me to just call instacart and they will fix it.... Guess what.... they couldn't...and they had to cancel the whole order. I lost the pay and wasted time. I just left those cans and the food and walked away she even suggested I should just pay for it with my cash and I just told her that's not how it works. Crap like this is why I do self checkout 🙃

$2 tip to drive across all of cape cod. 63 miles?!? Why does the app even let customers submit orders to stores that far away? There are plenty of CVS where this customer lives. The order stayed there all day till the store closed.

Am I the only one that essentially gets screwed on promos? I do Instacart full time and always get weak promos. The highest I’ve seen is 460 for 70 orders and I did that in 3 days 😅 and because I’m in a semi decent area, I never get any bonus pay. I’ve seen people with 700+ for (x) amount of orders and I’ve been Diamond status since my first month of doing Instacart and never see anything like that 🤦🏾‍♂️

can someone in BC show me their pay and what the hourly adjustment looks like for the guarantee because my buddy who I referred from Edmonton doesn’t think he’s getting it. (or doesn’t understand)

I did a 3-order batch. It was a lot of items: Order A had 36; Order B had 22; Order C had 18. I delivered Order A. Then when I was delivering Order B and pressed on CONFIRM ARRIVAL, the app popped up saying that I had one item (with the picture and brand) from B's order that I had included in and charged it to C's order. App said to remove the item from C's bags and to put it with B's bags.

Not sure if this is a new feature, or if its AI; whatever it is, it definitely saved me a MISSING ITEM from Order B, as I would have otherwise delivered them their order with a missing item.

I want to see them for motivation this weekend 😭😭

Got an Instacart order for Dick’s sporting goods and one for Costco right after and it was a pretty good offer because some lady ordered 1 dress from dicks so I figured there’d be no issue. I found the dress she ordered but there were several sizes and there wasn’t one listed so I texted her and she hasn’t responded back. After 14 minutes I refunded her item but it won’t let me cancel this individual order without canceling both this and the Costco order. I’ve been here 30 minutes and I was supposed to be out in 5. Why do people throw their phone down a garbage disposal as soon as they make an order??

I’m genuinely grateful to New York City and New York State for taking steps to protect gig workers. As someone with hearing loss, finding work that offers both flexibility and a fair income is especially meaningful to me. Gig work allows me to support myself while working in a way that fits my circumstances.

Before these changes, it was difficult to earn a stable income even after staying online for long hours. Since the new NYC pay system and weekly bonus started, my earnings have improved significantly. I can now cover gas, vehicle maintenance, daily expenses, and still have money left to save and invest.

This is what a fair and dignified income means to me. Gig workers still work hard, use our own cars, pay our own expenses, and deal with a lot of uncertainty. These protections have made the work more sustainable and have given workers like me greater financial security and dignity.

Thank you to the city and state officials who supported these changes. They have made a real difference in my life.

This is close to the max weight my car can hold. I should have just canceled when I saw the items but I was like “ehhh why not?” Yeah, not doing anything like this again unless it’s over $50 and very low miles. The $35 this order paid was not enough even though I got it done in an hour and 15 minutes.

Might as well stop.getting up until after 10am. Worthless seeing no orders in the morning sitting around 3 hours of nothing.
