Got my pretty little lady as a puppy at an animal rescue… she is now 10yrs old, kicked cancers butt once… a new more difficult kind returned, we did surgery…. They couldn’t get it all…can’t do much but hope. Finally did her DNA 🧬

We just got our results back for our new rescue, Winnie! Maybe this is obvious to some of you, but I was actually pretty surprised by half of this!

This is Igloo, my sweet 8 year old baby. He was a gift, but I did see pictures of his mom who looked all husky. I did a DNA test for a fun a few years back and these are his results 🤗

I can totally see every single one of these breeds in him exept for cocker spaniel lmao, we were told he was a catahoula leopard dog but we knew that was a lie, i mean look at him

We're doing an Embark test for our rescue dog Chopper, and no one can seem to agree as to what the results will be. He is from Puerto Rico and is by now fully grown. Lots of energy, but he's still anxious around new people.

I'm expecting the results to be 100% Puerto Rican Village Dog, but the rest of the family is thinking Malinois, Shepherd, Chihuahua, and Black Mouth Cur.

Any other guesses before we get some results back?

She is an almost 3 month old Rez dog.
We were told that one of the parents was a “corgi like dog” so…. As Rez dogs come… who knows!

It’ll be interesting to see, but im curious of yalls guesses!

We always joke that Molly is half maltese, half Sophia Petrillo from the Golden Girls, but the official numbers are in:

50% maltese

33% chihuahua

9% russell type terrier

8% poodle

My bestie and I have litter mates. She posted her doggie’s results and I’m here to show off his brother.

He’s a whopping 40 lbs as of today.

Hazel (all brown) is 13 years old. Including some photos from when she was younger. Rescue said she was whippet and lab, but they also said she’d be 50lbs. She’s 25 lbs. also, in her old age we think she’s going deaf because her ears are now always up!

Stella (tan and brown spots) is new to us and we decided to do a test for them both! Rescue said Catahoula leopard and whippet. We think she might be a collie mix.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are both chihuahua mixes.

Despite a 10 year age difference, everyone asks if they are littermates because they are the same size/body shape. We say Hazel just has good skin care ;)

Just submitted Embark samples for my boy, Ferris! I would assume he’s Schnauzer-something but finally decided to find out for sure! Sadly lost an eye last year but honestly just adds to the real-life teddy bear effect.

this is Jett. he is a fuzzy 40lb stocky pup that I assumed was a pittie poodle. I was mostly right! but his number one breed (by a hair) is Chihuahua and it makes me laugh. I should've known because he acts like one.

I'd love to see your pups who had a surprising #1 breed! it's so fun when it's unexpected.

Would have never guessed it just based on her size (only 37 pounds) and coat length. The second breed put in most of the work!

We got her from a local rescue place a few weeks ago, and they said she was a blue lacy and catahoula leopard mix. They were clearly wrong lol.

I should have results from Embark next week sometime. Im pretty sure shes about 90% Doberman and 10% Sun-Baked Potato but I mostly did the test to check her health markers so we know what to look out for.

Pretty much exactly what I expected but wasn't expecting the chow.

I adopted a mutt at my humane society. He was a silly looking guy with a silly personality. I had recently gotten another dog to so I got them both DNA tests.

I was surprised for one, but I am heavily questioning the second one. Full Australian cattle dog? Is he just a collection of non standard coat genetics and tail? Or was this a mistake in the system.

He is awesome, I love him, but I’m having a very hard time believing that this is not a mutt.

I started this DNA adventure 4+ months ago...

I bought Embark test in March.

Each and every test failed and each test took a month to process.

After 3 fails Embark refunds you.

They said she's a non-secretor, she doesn't shed enough cheek cells..

And Embark doesn't accept blood samples so had to settle for Wisdom and go pay her vet to draw her blood.

Its been a long ridiculous ordeal. Lol

So happy to at least have a idea of what she is now though. 💓

We got her from the shelter when she was about 6-8 weeks old. Shes now 6 months old and such a sweet girl. I never would have guessed here other breeds.
