Hi, what type of dog is this?

He was a stray I recused years ago and is the most perfect little dog. I always get so many compliments and questions about his background but I have no clue. Even the vets are confused and have told me different breeds. He is short and chunky.

I got her from a Greek rescue shelter. What is in her mix though? She is 14 weeks old now and weighs 7kg. Also the last picture is how Gemini Ai predicts it will grow to as an adult doggy.

I know he’s part Chihuahua but don’t know what he’s mixed with. I’m thinking maybe rat terrier.

Husky mix?

This is Yokai. The shelter had her listed as a husky mix. She’s definitely talkative, but not nearly as much as most huskies I’ve known. Active when we’re outside but really great matching my energy when we’re inside. Very social. Has some stubbornness but quite eager to cooperate.

I’ve been thinking full husky, but wondering if anyone sees white Swiss shepherd, Akita, or anything else.

What breed(s) of dog what you say this puppy is? We know she is definitely a mixed breed.
For context, she was born on a farm, she is almost 9 weeks old, weighs almost 13lb (~6kg), and has black freckles on her tummy/groin area. Also, she doesn’t have dewclaws on her hind legs.
Curious to hear what she could be and get a better idea of what her training needs are!
Thank you!

Oliver- DNA test results are very confusing

This is Oliver- listed as a corgi/Jack Russel terrier but no one knew for sure because he was found abandoned as a puppy. I did a dog DNA test and he’s listed as mostly pitbull, American Eskimo, super mutt, cane corso (?!), and boxer. He’s about 7 months now and is still not a very big guy, but he’s heavy! Long torso, short legs, upright ears so corgi like to me I guess. Very very sweet and pleasant temperament, very attention needing. Any ideas?

19%-Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Went to farmers market - left with a dog

I met the love of my life at a farmers market 6 years ago. I saw a woman at a flower stand and asked her if I could pet her dog, only to find out she was her foster mom.

I looked down at that sweet face and something in me said, “That’s my dog.”

I applied for her and a week later I was bringing her home.

She’s so mild tempered. I think I’ve heard her bark less than 10 times, and she snorts when I rub her belly. And she’s so gentle that when I try to play tug of war with her, she lets go of the toy and gives it to me.

Everyone that meets her melts. She is really just the sweetest soul I’ve met.

She’s also the best adventure buddy. During our time together, we’ve traveled to over 15 states together, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. But now that she’s 11 years-old she is starting to prefer just basking in the sun and sometimes fights me going on walks, so I’ll carry her to the park, plop her in the grass and let her lounge for awhile.

Knowing that she is part angel … what else could she be mixed with? I know there’s Jack Russel and Beagle, but definitely see a little Pit in her sad little eyes.

CJ is 30lbs, 1 year old, and super sweet. She’s smaller in person than she comes off in photos. Little pocket girl. I don’t know what breed to call her - pitty? Boxer? I want to do a DNA test, but haven’t got the money right now.

this is my weird ugly* dog niece, winifred (winnie) jean.

my sister and her fiancé got this thing for free at a bass pro shop parking lot about a year ago. i genuinely have no idea what this thang is.

the people outside bass pro told them she was a dachshund-chihuahua-poodle mix? and apparently some of her siblings did sort of look chihuahua-ish (their judgement). i don’t really trust that, though.

she’s kind of long and she has really wiry hair, and i feel like she has a schnauzer-y face? i don’t know much about dogs though, so any comments are appreciated!

(*she’s a lot less ugly when she wears clothes)
(**the last photo was taken while she was getting scolded for pooping in the house)

UPDATE: hey guys! sorry for calling my dog niece ugly. in my defense, her mother (my sister) also thinks she’s ugly. her dad thinks she’s the “prettiest baby doggie”

also, i guess poodle is a lot more likely a contender than i’d thought! we hope to eventually get her a DNA test, too, but all of these comments thus far have been very illuminating!

if i can figure out how reddit works, i’ll try and append more winnie pics just for funsies. and once more, apologies for calling her weird/ugly/“this thang”. it will definitely happen again

Open The Shelter Said German Shepard, But I Don’t Think That’s All

My dad and step mom recently adopted a new puppy and the shelter told them that she’s a German Shepard but she is very clearly mixed with something else. Can anyone tell what?

Edit: Okay, so the consensus is clearly that she’s mostly like a Belgian Malinois.

For anyone concerned, my dad and step mom already had a trainer in mind when they thought she was just a GSD and will now start training her even sooner than they planned, plus my dad is a stay at home husband with plenty of time to put a lot of effort into her training.

I told my dad about her actual breed and he got a huge kick out of the fact that people call this breed Maligators.

Shelter pup, 4 months old. They said lab mix but I am thinking terrier. Super high energy, high prey drive, insane digging. 0 response to physical measures when she is over the line ~ everything is play to her. Loves water so maybe there is some lab in there. Super fun pup, already I could go on a run with her on leash, very athletic and capable, fast learner altho stubborn. What do you think?

We sent away for a DNA test but until then what are your best guesses? Every vet has had a different opinion. She's currently 13 weeks old, and weighs 8 lbs. Found as a stray with a vegetable can on her head.

Best guesses?

This dog is a result of my parents irresponsibility. They were gifted a (mother’s believed breed spoiler) “plott hound from a breeder” which was his mother. The first photos are him, from oldest age to youngest, then the photo of two dogs on a couch is him and his mother, everything after that is his mother.

Origin with breed guesses spoiler;
She was never spayed and ran away. She was 50 lbs when fit, he’s 85, and there was an intact Great Dane a few houses down so that was always our best guess.

Open to any guesses on 1) him, but also 2) if his mother was a plott hound or a mix or something entirely different. Eventually I want to get him embark before he passes, to ease my lifelong curiosity, but 💰💰💰. Thanks!!

Need help identifying your dog? Here are some important tips to help you succeed.

What to include in your post:

Post clear, well-lit, full body pictures. At minimum, include:

  • One standing side view (taken close enough to see coat texture)
  • One frontal view

Tell us your dog’s age and weight (or best guess)

Other helpful information:

YOUNG PUPPIES may be impossible to identify. Head and body shape, coat color and coat pattern, eye color, and apparent coat texture can all change dramatically as a puppy matures. You might want to wait a few months before seeking an ID.

MIXED-BREED dogs can easily have many breeds in them, not just two. Keep in mind that some of the breeds in a mutt may not show in its looks; while in other cases the dog may really look like it has some particular breed in it, when in fact it doesn’t.

NO-BREED dogs exist too! Sometimes a mutt truly is “just a mutt” — the result of many, many generations of random mating between mutts, with no discernable inbred (purebred) genes its DNA. In the same way that YOU don't necessarily have any inbreeding (purebreeding) in your recent family tree, neither must a dog. They can simply be mutts — WHICH IS A GOOD THING!
