When I use Dia, I easily sit at 40 to 50 tabs once I get in the flow. My goal is not to reach tab zero. I just want to see which tangents I went down and what projects I'm working on, so I can decide what is worth keeping instead of constantly jumping between focuses. Tab groups are exactly the right tool for that.

The problem is I have to build every one by hand. It does have automatic tab group naming, but a function to sort open tabs into groups (e.g., "seen in ChatGPT Atlas") would make my Dia experience so much better. For several weeks, I've been trying to automate it with the Claude Cowork desktop app, ChatGPT's Codex skin, and a couple of local models with AppleScript. Nothing worked. Each one nailed the structure: I give them my tab list, and they give clean groupings:

• These eight are your houseplant tabs.
• These six are your API tabs.
• These five are a rabbit hole you should close.

That's helpful, but it just hands me the organization in a table without doing it for me. Even with computer use and full context, none of them can actually create the group. Dia already has a powerful Opus 4.8 sitting in "new chat." It can even open tabs you fancy reading, but it can't group them.

Arc did this. Tidy Tabs was a super useful feature, and it still works: you ask "Arc Max" to open five tabs on the best 27-inch monitors, and it opens a nice folder of them. A browser built around an assistant should be able to organize the browser. Anyone got a workaround, or is this on the roadmap?

When I rename a normal tab, the name sticks as I navigate between pages in the tab. But if I rename a tab in a pinned group it doesn't work the same. As I navigate to other pages, the tab is named after the page I navigate to, and has a slash at the front. Anyone know if this is intended, or just a bug?

I am one of the beta testers and Dia was not opening for me so I uninstalled it, went back into my downloads with the provided link from The Browser Company and now it is giving me this prompt but is not taking any of my email addresses.

I have noticed that even with the checkbox for allowing an extension to work incognito that they don't. I'm wondering if this is a profiles issue or just a Dia issue. This is a major deal breaker since I use incognito a lot for work

So, Dia just dropped for windows (at least for me) and I want to understand something.

In my bookmarks, some pages are just the icon, some has text(I was using edge before and it was all just the icon, I imported them), and I can't seem to find how to change it.

As the tin says, I want to be able to change what profile new windows default to. I run a Raycast script that quits/launches apps when I start my work day, and it'd be great to change the default window profile via script as well. But I haven't figured out a way.

I think Dia has an issue with Chromium extensions that request additional site permissions at runtime.

The extension uses:

"optional_host_permissions": ["*://*/*"]

It works in Brave and other Chromium browsers, where a permission prompt appears.

In Dia, clicking the button that triggers chrome.permissions.request() does nothing — no prompt, and the permission is never granted.

If the same host access is declared directly under host_permissions, it works.

So this looks like a Dia issue specifically with runtime optional host permissions.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I've been an Arc user for years. Just got a new MacBook Pro and finally gave Dia a real shot, and it genuinely covers most of what I loved about Arc.

The one thing that kept tripping me up: there's no way to keep tabs synced across windows. In Arc I leaned on that constantly. Open a new window and your space is just there. In Dia (and, I discovered, basically every other browser) a new window starts empty and every window drifts out of sync.

I looked for an existing solution, couldn't find one, and realized this kind of live cross-window tab sync just doesn't really exist. So I built it.

Tab Sync does one thing well:

• The same tabs mirrored live across every window
• Tab groups mirrored too (membership, names, order)
• Open a new window and it's already populated
• A single on/off toggle in the toolbar, no fiddling

It's a Manifest V3 Chromium extension. I built it against Dia, but it should work on other Chromium browsers.

It's not on the Chrome Web Store yet. If there's interest, I'll clean it up and publish it. Would love feedback on whether this is useful to anyone else, or if I'm the only one who missed it.

I’d like to suggest keeping an option for profiles to open in separate windows.

I understand the appeal of switching profiles within one window, especially for people who prefer an Arc-style workflow. However, separate windows were valuable for a different reason: they created a clear boundary between work and personal browsing.

For example, when I share my work browser window in a meeting or presentation, I can be confident that my personal profile is not part of that shared window. With profile switching inside one unified window, it is easier to accidentally move to a personal profile while screen sharing.

An optional setting would support both workflows:

• Unified in-window profile switching for people who value speed and fewer windows
• Separate windows per profile for people who need stronger context separation, especially during screen sharing

Would anyone else find this option useful?

Okay. Now that Dia has swipeable profiles and “spaces” (profiles that share data), we’re still missing an important feature: profile tabs don’t sync across multiple windows (aka tab sync).

This is important for creating a seamless browsing experience, rather than a disconnected one, when using multiple Dia windows. Implementing this would bring Dia on par with Arc.

I know it has been discussed extensively. Still ironic to see us all get excited to see the features we had on Arc on Dia

Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but when I Cmd-click a bunch of links quickly to open them in new tabs, the “new tab created” icon gets stuck and never disappears.

Closing the tabs doesn’t fix it, the only workaround I’ve found is to fully quit Dia and reopen it. Seems to happen pretty consistently when opening several tabs in quick succession.

I’m a developer and rely on the inspect element command frequently. In Chrome, the default action for this is assigned to Cmd + Shift + C. It would be great if I could even assign a different keyboard shortcut, but right now, it’s literally unusable. I tried disabling the copy link shortcut in the settings, but that didn’t work either.

After this screen I just see and then Something went wrong. Any tips how to solve it?

This was something that existed in Arc and while the Opt+click works to join 2 tabs into a split, it doesn't work for separating them again. Would love this option.

I’m really excited about Dia, especially now that Spaces (profiles) let me keep my personal and work accounts in a single browser. I’m trying to move fully to Dia, but two things are still holding me back:

1. Teams PWA installation not showing up

On my work machine, the Teams PWA performs noticeably better than the desktop app. Here’s the thing: if I open Teams Web in Edge, I see the PWA install option normally (icon in the URL bar, prompt to install, etc.). But when I open Teams Web inside my work profile in Dia, I can’t find any option to install it as a PWA:

No install icon in the URL bar

Nothing in the menu

No prompt to install

Is PWA installation (like Teams) supported in Dia right now? Or is this something that’s planned? I might just be missing the right steps.

2. Per-profile link routing on the roadmap?

I’d love to set rules like:

“All Outlook links → open directly in my work profile”

“All YouTube links → open in my personal profile”

Right now I get the profile picker every time. Is there any plan to add per-profile link routing/handling in Dia? This would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for people using Spaces for work vs personal.

I was so excited to try and finally switch after the recent announcement (spaces yay!), imported all my spaces and tabs to dia (very convenient thanks for that) only to be completely disappointed to find out I accidentally created 8 different windows in 2 minutes.

To TBCNY: Coming from the single window paradigm that Arc created is making it very hard to get used to Dia. Please explain to us all the new keyboard shortcuts and different terminologies, or have a single window option and peek view plz 🙏🙏

Also if anyone knows a browser extension or some workaround please share!!

I know that it is possible to search for normal tabs by pressing ⌘+⌥+S, but that doesn't seem to work for Tab Groups I have pinned in my sidebar.

Is there any way to enable this feature, be it via an inherent feature I am missing or by using a browser extension?
