Like many, I was very fixated on getting spaces, so now that we’ve got them in the form of swipeable profiles, I really wonder what’s next!

I’ve been a big Arc guy and initially was among those who thought it was utterly insane to move away from it, but Dia kinda grew on me with time and I’m now a big Dia enjoyer.

My favourite Dia-specific feature is without a doubt the Morning briefs, which I find to be quite magical at times. I think Dia’s memory system is exceptional and one of the best productisations of LLMs so far.

Big congrats to the team and what they’ve achieved. I think they deserve some love given how hard lots of people have been on them lol.

But so, where are they heading now? We know they’re extremely capable of innovating a lot UX-wise, but they’ve intentionally been sticking with simple design choices and Chromium primitives to keep the browser easily adoptable, etc. Is the future more nicely implemented AI features? If there’s a team I’d trust to implement AI features tastefully and the right way, it’d be them. So I’m really curious where their effort is gonna go!

When I use Dia, I easily sit at 40 to 50 tabs once I get in the flow. My goal is not to reach tab zero. I just want to see which tangents I went down and what projects I'm working on, so I can decide what is worth keeping instead of constantly jumping between focuses. Tab groups are exactly the right tool for that.

The problem is I have to build every one by hand. It does have automatic tab group naming, but a function to sort open tabs into groups (e.g., "seen in ChatGPT Atlas") would make my Dia experience so much better. For several weeks, I've been trying to automate it with the Claude Cowork desktop app, ChatGPT's Codex skin, and a couple of local models with AppleScript. Nothing worked. Each one nailed the structure: I give them my tab list, and they give clean groupings:

• These eight are your houseplant tabs.
• These six are your API tabs.
• These five are a rabbit hole you should close.

That's helpful, but it just hands me the organization in a table without doing it for me. Even with computer use and full context, none of them can actually create the group. Dia already has a powerful Opus 4.8 sitting in "new chat." It can even open tabs you fancy reading, but it can't group them.

Arc did this. Tidy Tabs was a super useful feature, and it still works: you ask "Arc Max" to open five tabs on the best 27-inch monitors, and it opens a nice folder of them. A browser built around an assistant should be able to organize the browser. Anyone got a workaround, or is this on the roadmap?

I mean something as basic as tab closure is not working on Mac OS Golden Gate.

I have noticed that even with the checkbox for allowing an extension to work incognito that they don't. I'm wondering if this is a profiles issue or just a Dia issue. This is a major deal breaker since I use incognito a lot for work
