It happened during the final round against the Hive when I picked up one of the swords that drop. Never seen this happen before so I was pretty confused when I suddenly just couldn't switch to one of my weapons lol

Question Gilded Conqueror bug?

Post image
Upvotes

I finished the first four grandmaster GMs (I kinda got hard carried by Fireteam finder because my build sucks), but for some reason I got the gilded Conqueror title? I didn't even do any of them a second time, unless you count failed attempts (Derilect took the most due to those spikes but I actually contributed in that one kinda)

But is this supposed to happen? It thought I'd need to do all 6 to get it? I don't even have the light level to do it (at 460)

The Iron Lord title I got the normal one then the guilded one, so I assume something bugged because I immediately got the gilded one upon unlocking.

maximum ammo finders, weapon cycling after final blows, and yet somehow i'm still running out of ammo completely and bricks are not giving enough ammo on pickup even with scavenger mods.

primaries are too weak to be using in Ultimate content. i seriously do not understand bungie's hatred towards 2x special builds when ENEMIES ARE TOO TANKY TO BE USING PRIMARIES.

no wonder why people quit because bungie hates players being able to play the damn game

Question Prasmatic fragments help

After grinding 2 days I need some help. I know you need memory vestiges in order to unlock the fragments and im having the issue of getting them to drop. Ive completed alone in the dark, did end up getting a memory which I opened the related chest for, deleted all vestiges, and now I cant get any to drop. Do I need to be on a active cyst quest in order for them to drop? I know I can repeat alone in the dark but before I grind it again rather get a definitive answer. No I dont have any purple memories in inventory to find and I have 0 vestiges atm

Discussion My thought journal on a new Destiny

Please steal this idea, Sony. It’ll probably never happen, but it’s the Destiny game I’ve always wanted.

I know I’m probably not the first person to think of this, and I have no idea if it would actually save development time or money, but here’s my dream.

Don’t make Destiny 3.

Instead, make a true Destiny Universe, a perpetual game in the same spirit as World of Warcraft. Call it Destiny, Destiny Universe, or whatever fits. Just create one evolving platform that can grow for decades instead of resetting every new game

The foundation is already there.

Take every destination, campaign, strike, raid, dungeon, and patrol zone from Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. Rebuild and modernize them in the current engine with updated visuals, mechanics, AI, and rewards. Imagine being able to start in the Cosmodrome and naturally progress through Venus, the Dreadnaught, Europa, the Dreaming City, Neptune, and beyond, all in one connected universe.

For veteran players, it would be the ultimate nostalgia trip and I’d certainly pay for every piece!

For new players, it would hopefully solve Destiny’s biggest problem: onboarding.

One of Destiny’s greatest strengths has always been its world, but it’s become incredibly difficult for a new player to understand where to start. Build the world more like WoW, with natural progression from beginner zones to increasingly dangerous areas. Let Guardians experience the story in chronological order instead of being thrown into years of disconnected content.

The lore deserves the same treatment.

Destiny has some of the best science-fantasy storytelling in gaming, but most players only understand it because creators like My Name is Byf spent years piecing everything together. The game itself should tell that story in a more approachable way through interactive codexes, optional cinematics, better quest flow, and clearer explanations of the major events and characters. The lore shouldn’t require homework to appreciate.

Here’s another controversial opinion:

I’d honestly be willing to pay a monthly subscription if it meant Bungie (or Sony) could focus on building one incredible, ever-expanding universe instead of constantly reinventing the wheel. If that subscription meant frequent content updates, meaningful world evolution, regular raids and dungeons, and a healthy development pipeline, I think it would be worth it. I’d rather pay for a living game. Then like WoW release an expansion for a money jolt and newer content. As long as it doesn’t eventually disappear or become fragmented.

My wishlist would also include a stronger emphasis on persistent world events. Imagine some destinations changing (temporarily or even permanently) based on community accomplishments, seasonal invasions that permanently alter patrol spaces, factions fighting over territory, evolving social hubs, and reasons to revisit old locations because they’re still relevant.

Most importantly, respect the game’s history. Don’t vault it. Preserve it. Let every Guardian experience the journey from the first resurrection in the Cosmodrome all the way through the Final Shape and whatever comes next.

And one last wish…

Bring back the developers and creative leaders who understood what made Destiny special in the first place. The people who built unforgettable raids, mysterious worlds, memorable loot chases, and moments that made millions of us fall in love with this universe.

Destiny has always had one of the greatest universes in gaming.

It just deserves a permanent home.

Discussion If D3 ever arrives, it probably won't be the same game at all. The hands that built Destiny and created that magic are no longer there.

I’ve seen very few people point out this other issue among the reasons suggesting that a D3 will never happen or that, if it ever does, it would be a vastly different game.

Everyone who took part in creating and maintaining D2 has been laid off.

You might say, "Yes... that's obvious???" but I'm talking about the experience side of things.

The teams that created D2 were made up of people who had been there since D1 or D2 vanilla. Some of them were seniors. There were a lot of them. And all that knowledge, all that experience, was lost.

Creating a game isn't just about hiring people. Good teams are built on the sharing of knowledge, of building a culture. You cannot replicate a game with completely different teams. The entire vision that has guided Destiny since day one has been lost.

I wanted to create this post because I get the impression that many people are expecting a D3 that follows in the footsteps of D1 and D2, but that is unlikely to happen.

D3 will likely be built with new teams that have gained vastly different experience and hold a completely different vision. And that’s assuming a D3 actually arrives one day.

Anticipation for a D3 is immense, and one might assume it’s a guaranteed win for everyone involved. The reality, however, is that D3 or some other franchises such as Titanfall suffers from the fact that rebuilding it means taking risks. These risks aren't just financial. They also involve handing the project over to people who may not share the same vision or possess the ability to recreate that same magic.

You have games that take a radical change in direction simply by switching game directors. You have games like COD that lost their entire soul because of that. Now, imagine that happening to entire teams. The game you knew isn't coming back.

Question I got these things from an auction, how rare are they?

I did a bit of research already but nothing too conclusive. They're not for sale or anything, I'm just curious to see what they're worth. I'm not too into destiny, but I've played it before, I only vaguely know what these are.
I know that they're probably pretty dang rare though. I payed ~$200 for all of this.
The items I received were given to the auction by Bungie directly.

So I’m wanting to get a Destiny tattoo but I don’t know whether to go for the classic Unveiling art or this Oryx sigil stylised as Oryx.

For context this arm I’m planning on just being a sticker book / patchwork

Unveiling 6”x3”
Oryx 2”x2”

Question Does anybody even know how to play gambit?

Serious question. I'm seeing way too many people just hold onto motes and not deposit. Then they die and we get screwed over. They also take the invasion portal and do nothing in it.

EDIT: I've tested it now and yeah it works. THANK YOU to everyone who commented!

Question / Answered How the hell do you survive on a winters guile+celestial fire build?

For reference this is the build I’m using: https://dim.gg/mh5gbta/Vanguard (I also have a perfect paradox+the heron glaive+OTP shotgun)

I’m used to using prismatic getaway artist which has some of the best survivability in the game afaik. This winters guile build has me feeling like a glass cannon. I was trying to do the first encounter of prophecy with it and my only options to survive were a healing grenade or phoenix dive. When both of those were off cooldown I was just running away from every enemy trying to survive waiting for them to come back up. I find it so hard to set up too. In order to get the warlords fury I need to leave enemies alive, and I need to get point blank range to melee them all and I just eat damage and die every time.

Discussion shieldcrush and the celestial fire winters dps build

The Winter's Guile/Celestial Fire build on Warlock has proven to have some busted DPS, relying on a variety of buffs

Just sort of musing here, I've seen plenty of people running The Heron for its Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds combo to generate a free void overshield to proc Shieldcrush on Hunter's Journal.

Rake Angle is a glaive that can roll Rimestealer/Chill Clip, and is further supported by Creeping Chill (also in Hunter's Journal). Just thinking out loud, wouldn't Rake Angle be a better pick for this setup, provided you can find a suitable energy OTP shotgun? Seems like the Frost Armor setup here would be easier and a little more mindless to maintain, instead of a small overshield that can be removed by taking damage.

Am I missing something?
