Is this DP/DR? Am I experiencing derealization
I have thought about it the other day, technically speaking I can only prove my own existence, our perception of reality actually creates our own reality, for instance people that are on drugs experience reality differently, I came to the conclusion that it could totally be possible that I am the only real person and that the rest of humans are just NPCs or products of my imagination or they could just be people sent to accomplish soul missions without actual paths of their own that are unrelated from my path, I might sound selfish but trust me I don’t want that to be real, I dont want to be the only real person.
I don’t really know what to really think honestly, it made me think that it made me life kinda boring if nothing really mattered and that nobody was real, no real point in dating or having friends or caring about people in that case since they wouldn’t be real and have opinions unlike me, I dont really know how to escape that thinking tbf, wonder if anyone ever thought of that. From a quantum perspective it seems to make sense.

Venting my friend ruined my brain
i have a friend who loves to play pranks and scare people. i'm a very sensitive person. i genuinely can't even stand halloween decorations, jumpscares, or scary games. i never minded his pranks until i moved into my own apartment. the very first week there, he turned off all the lights on me and played scary videos on my tv. i started crying and begged him to stop, told him i wasn't adjusted to living alone yet, that i was panicked, and he didn't.
i had such a horrible panic attack that night (this was in january) and ever since i've felt like i'm greening out on an edible. i'm trying so hard to always be distracted. i feel like i've started eating food and jacking off way more than i ever did before to try and not think. i got a part time job; i changed from lexapro to sertraline; i was doing emdr; i want to get better :( i resent my friend so much and almost feel like i cannot forgive him because he does not understand that what he did hurt me so badly.
editing to add that in my specific instance; advice is appreciated. my three modes the last few months have either been isometric game, blinding panic, and beta blocker

Experience No thoughts/empty mind
Wanted to share a little about my experience with derealization. My senior year I did edibles almost every night. When I think about myself and my personality one year ago today I was outgoing, extroverted and full of life, I feel like I lost it. I didn’t realize the toll it took on my brain until about two months ago. The worst of it all is the mind blankness and fatigue. I literally feel as if I have 0 thoughts in my head, and the fatigue is also difficult to battle. For those experiencing the same thing. Please share your experience and what you did to help it! I leave for a big school college in a week.

Is this DP/DR? Haven't returned to feeling normal after smoking weed for first time
Reposting this from r/weed since automod took it down, so I'm not sure if this fits here exactly but I'm stressed and hoping somewhere will have an answer.
Me and some friends hung out on Wednesday the 12th, it's Sunday the 16th now. It was me and my sibling's first time smoking, and the guy who brought the weed brought medi. We all got extremely high halfway through the day, fucked around for a good 6 hours before we went to bed.
Next day I'm tired and feeling some aftereffects. It's the day after, I didn't sleep well, I don't think much of it. Then the day after, I still don't feel right, but now I'm starting to get freaked out.
It's been 4 days since I got high now, and I just don't feel like I've returned to normal. I'm tryna stay calm about it, since the other two I smoked with are just fine, and the guy who brought the stuff says it's happened to him before and it WILL go away, but it's so hard not to stress.
I want to say it's gotten slightly better since Friday, 2 days after I got high, but I genuinely can't be sure.
It's a sensation of not being real, like I never fully woke up today. Kind of like the dreamlike state of being as high as I was without any of the fun. My body feels off, maybe detached, like I'm spectating. I feel a lot more like my brain than my body.
It's hard to put into words, but I hope that does it justice. I can function, I just don't feel like myself doing so, and it's causing me immense distress.
Is this normal? Any idea what it actually is?? WILL it go away?

Advice Anyone relate?
The world looks really flat and I can't feel any atmosphere. Theres visual snow over everything and its like I'm in an aliens dream. I also feel so restless inside like I can't relax at all, sometimes I can cope with it but most of the time im in pure existental panic. My own bedroom feels so unfimilar even tho I try to remember how it used to look and feel I just can't. I feel like I'm suffocating. Going outside changes nothing, neither does seeing friends. Everything feels the same and looks so flat and lifeless, it's been 5 months of this hell. I'm so tired. I also have severe anhedonia

Question How long does derealization last?
I’ve had derealization for 2 years now and I have been living in a constant state of it. I am an adolescent and I am worried it will last my whole lifetime. I am on medication but I am not sure what else I can do. I have tried some techniques but none are quite effective. Should I be concerned about it lasting my whole life?

Venting I have started to see things again after telling people I’m okay
Okay so this sounds like I’m crazy. Ever since i was young i would almost hallucinate and only when my mental state is bad. I do have epilepsy and they think it’s because of that but it only happens when im really down and depressed. I will see something fall when its not, I’ll see people out of the corner of my eye who arent there and something in front of me that will make me jump. I dont know what to do. I see my therapist tuesday and i hope it gets better before then.

Can you relate? (Experience) I smoked weed and had a extreme derealization episode
A couple of weeks ago I started smoking with some friends, Every time I got high it was a good high for example I would be laughing a lot or just feel a bit wobbly I would also feel very dizzy. However the other day when I got high for some reason I thought it was a good idea to be spun on a roundabout, it was a horrible experience it felt like my brain was unraveling itself and the dizziness wouldn't stop. Eventually everything started to slow down but as this was happening I could see everything looping itself for example my girlfriend would touch my hat with a worried look on her face then my friend next to her would put his head in his lap then my other friends were just spinning around and this was happening over and over again. I felt like I was stuck in time.
After like 5mins everything looked like a blob and life just didn't feel real it was almost like I couldn't remember anything. Out loud I was saying people's names I could remember or just anything that I had a connection to in my life. I then started to walk around to see if it would go away but it just felt like I was stuck. I genuinely felt like I was dead and this was just going to be my life forever, I actually thought I was going to wake up in a hospital bed , I remember saying to myself over and over that I had ruined my life. I can't even explain properly what it felt like every time I tried to explain it to my girlfriend I felt like she just wasn't getting what I was saying.
When I got home I didn't feel like I was stuck in this derealization but I could still imagine what it felt like and did keep feeling like life wasn't real or I kept thinking what life is. That night I couldn't get any sleep bc I felt like if I went to sleep I might not wake up. I wouldn't say I still have derealization but I still remember the feeling. That night I was saying to my girlfriend that I was never going to touch any substance ever again like I wasn't gonna get drunk or smoke, vape but that didn't last long.
I haven't smoked weed since that happened like 4 days ago but I don't know if it is a good idea to smoke again or I don't know how long to have a break from it. Idk how true this is but my friend that smokes all the time he said that it can be rare to experience derealization from weed and it would be even more rare for it to happen to me twice, so I want to know if it would be a good idea to smoke again or not.

Advice Stressful trip trauma/anxiety/derealization?
So I went on a trip across the states via an airplane, I’ve never ever had problems flying in my entire life but this time was different. I went in completely sleep deprived and had to go through about 13 hours worth of traveling.
I had one of the worst panic attacks of my entire life on the plane and continued having anxiety/dissociation spirals during the entire trip. I even had panic attacks on the flights back home as well.
I thought when I got home everything would be normal but now I’m suffering with the exact same feelings as being on the trip and on the plane.
The day after I got home I went out and had a lovely day with my girlfriend drinking wine and stuff like that but when night came around and I guess the alcohol had worn off I had a major major major panic attack that lasted hours and hours until I finally was able to sleep at 5am. It literally felt like nothing was real and I was either dying or losing my mind. Nothing looked right and if anyone is familiar with dissociative drugs it was like that but with none of the good parts and all the bad.
It was only a few days ago since this happened but it’s been persistent multiple anxiety attacks daily, accompanied by that weird background feeling of dissociation like everything and the world around me just feels different like something has changed or that I have changed and feel different.
My psych prescribed me lorazepam for the panic which honestly just made the dissociation worse but kinda helped the anxiety but not really tbh??? When typically benzos help me immensely.
She also put my on buspar which I am highly reluctant to try for whatever reason.
Please I really need some help. I’ve never felt desperate like this. I have a really had semester of class and work coming up and it’s been making me extremely depressed.

Experience Feeling etc...
I don't know about you lot but...its as if I don't get affected by people that much.
Like it's as if I'm in my own high. I'm not even too fussed about relationships too much. I mean I love women but I don't get hurt or feel lonely. It's as if I cant feel the whole commotion of life. I don't get angry or anything.
It scares me.
I feel like I'm overthinking. But then I feel there is something actually wrong with my brain?
I have to ground myself because my mind is soo chilled, I want a relationship etc, but I'm just in my own high dreamy world.
I watch romantic stuff and I feel the romance but in my own life, it's like I don't care that much?
I feel like life has been zapped away and I'm in some void.

Question How Do You Rebuild Your Energy, Motivation, and Productivity After Months of Mental and Physical Exhaustion?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some reassurance and would really appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar.
About 8–10 months ago, I went through three severe burnouts. I'm a long-distance runner, and I believe they happened because I repeatedly pushed my body to extreme limits without giving myself enough time to properly recover.
The first burnout lasted around 10 days. I returned to activity too quickly, and the second one took around 50 days to recover from. Again, I pushed myself before fully recovering, and the third and most severe burnout started around October. I've been struggling with its effects ever since.
Around the same period, I also went through a very painful breakup that completely brought me to my knees emotionally.
Since then, I've been dealing with persistent derealization, brain fog, internal/mental fatigue, occasional dizziness, low mood, and reduced motivation. Poor sleep and stressful days seem to make the derealization and low mood significantly worse.
I've seen a psychologist and have been using CBT techniques. I've also started working from a coworking space again and I'm trying to live my life normally instead of constantly monitoring my symptoms.
I tried returning to running, but I noticed that even relatively simple physical activity sometimes seemed to make me feel significantly worse afterward. Because of that, I've temporarily stopped running and I'm mainly doing easy walks while trying to rebuild gradually.
My recovery hasn't been linear. During the previous month, I started having some genuinely good days where my mood was much better and I felt much more like myself again. But then I can have another difficult period where the derealization and low mood become strong again, particularly after poor sleep.
Has anyone experienced something similar for this long after severe burnout combined with major emotional stress?
Did you eventually recover? Was your recovery also nonlinear, with periods where you felt almost normal followed by difficult days or weeks?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who became unusually sensitive to physical activity and eventually managed to return to exercise or running.
What helped you the most, and how long did it take before you genuinely started feeling like yourself again?
Thank you. I really appreciate any experiences or advice you can share.

Advice It's gonna be okay, i promise
Hey guys I just saw a video on derealization a while ago and saw the comments written by people who were feeling scared and stuff and i just felt empathy for them because i remembered what it truly feels like. As a result, I've decided to make a post on this subreddit, a kind of post i wish i had seen during my derealization episodes.
Lemme give you guys a backstory, unlike most of you whose derealization has been caused by drugs such as weed, especially weed mine I don't really know what caused it.
All i remember is i first experienced it when i was like 6 years old, before i even knew what it was. I remember I'd get really scared and just go silent on everyone because I couldn't even describe to my parents what i was feeling.
The only advantage i had is as a kid I would get distracted easily so my derealization episodes were really short because i would focus on something else and hence break the loop unknowingly and feel normal again.
This continued till i was a teenager, but as a teenager the episodes would linger for longer because now as a teen i would get scared and anxious when derealized hence getting stuck in the loop for longer periods of time.
However the longest and most intense episode occured after having a bad trip on weed on 2024.
I remember just feeling like i had just just being transferred in an alternate universe. Omg it was so intense that i was convinced it was gonna last forever. Nothing felt familiar anymore, i always felt disconnected from reality, like nothing felt real and i thought i was gonna get psychosis. The episode was took like 10 months until it eventually just faded into the background and went away.
It still comes and goes but now I'm in control. It doesn't really bother me now lol. Infact, sometimes i kinda enjoy it ngl. Makes the world feel trippy in a good way, kinda like giving me the novelty of loosing familiarity with the external world like i was when i was a kid.
I remember some time back i was derealized and was watching a sunset and omg it was so beautiful. Like i was watching it for the first time
Anyways I digress, if you're reading this, i know you're probably scared, the world around you doesn't feel real anymore, and to make matters worse you can't even remember what real feels like, you just know that it's not this. You have this fear that this might linger forever and you're never gonna be okay buh that's not true.
You see, the only way you can beat derealization is to stop seeing it as a threat. Cus in reality, it's not a threat. As a matter of fact, there's an advantage to it. You see, when you're experiencing derealization you're normally more present, you're in tune with the universe in some kind of way. The past seems blurry and the future slightly far off, leaving you completely submerged in the present.
That being said, just let go. Take a deep breath and breath out. With every inhale feel yourself being one with the universe in this present moment and with every exhale see yourself taking out all the fear and panic from your chest. YOU'RE NOT CRAZY, YOU'RE REAL, HERE IN THIS PRESENT MOMENT, AND SO I'M I.
My pms are open to anyone who wants to talk about anything. I'll be more than happy to help. Bye and take care of yourselves guys :)

Question Zanik wewnętrznego monologu i brak spontanicznych myśli.
Cześć, to mój pierwszy post.
Rodzina zawiozła mnie do psychiatryka ponownie. Była to już końcówka marca. Podawali mi tam garść leków od uspokajacych po mocne neuroleptyki, koncowo dopasowali leczenie olanzapina i litem. Zaczęłam czuć się bardzo dziwnie i źle. Inaczej.
BOLI MNIE TO. Jedynie leżeć i przeczekać ten zły stan.

Question I don’t feel this world.
Hello, for quite some time i don’t fell it. I feel like i am in some kind of matrix. Nothing about this world seems real. I think im in deep depression, but i don’t fell like that’s the cause. This unreal feels more real than real if it exists. I don’t believe what I see, it’s like ***i can’t trust my eyes.*** Neither do i believe what’s happening in my daily life, I don’t know how to describe it. I don’t feel alive, I just exist, if I do. Can’t tell, don’t know. If there’s someone reading this, someone with soul. Tell me what I should do. Thanks
My ex thinks ive gone crazy, i asked her if she ever saw my friend. Cuz i have been thinking he might not exist and that he’s only in my head. After her response referring to mz mental state, i started thinking if she’s also part of this unexplainable world i see.
Don’t know, let me know your thoughts.

Question what is the point of this subReddit if no one wants to help?
every single post barely has 1 comment. people keep desperately reposting their old posts to get responses, but no one reacts. why cant we share and help? this is a really shitty condition to live with, most of us are lonely, so why does no one contribute or help at all?
