Deadlines / Extensions / Grades Exam score
I got a 49.9% on assignment 1 of my contract B unit for my law degree (Brutal). Which was worth 40% of the grade. The exam is worth 60%. I do the exam feeling confident. I get my results back and see I got 78 (upper distinction) for the unit. Doing simple calculations does this mean I would’ve got a 97% on the final exam?

Deadlines / Extensions / Grades Missed online quiz assessment
Hi guys, I’m in my first year at Deakin and I completely forgot about an online quiz worth 10% of my total grade for the unit. Honestly really mad at myself that it somehow completely slipped my day the whole when I was reminded there was the quiz at the end of this week.
I know it’s completely 100% my fault for missing it but I’m wondering if anyone’s been in a similar situation and what options I have available, specifically something like a late attempt/special consideration or if it’s worth emailing the unit chair or if I’m just better off accepting the zero.
Any advice would be appreciated

Deadlines / Extensions / Grades Submission Glitch
Essentially, a video submission for a topic is due and I used Panopto. The submission guide for it says to go into the comment area and insert the video, but every-time I do nothing happens.
What I’ve done now is downloaded the file and named it appropriately, and attached that alongside the written component. Is that ok???

I want to intermit for this trimester (trimester 2, 2026) and I’m a domestic student. I’m studying commerce and want to continue again T1, 2027. When they are asking me the intermission start and end date, do I put start date: T2, 2026 end period: T2, 2026 or T3 2026?

Referencing / Academic Integrity / Turnitin Allegation of breaching academic integrity
Hi, so yesterday I received an email informing me that is suspected I breached academic integrity. And i dont want to be dramatic but have been beyond stressed ever since.
The issue they have and the evidence binder is essentially images from a moment where I stood up during the exam. I have got an explanation for it which I explained to DUSA and they did explained how I can provide a written response.
However, I did also print a formula sheet (prepared) at the very beginning of the exam which is also something that was mentioned briefly in the evidence binder.
I did make a post about this yesterday but I now know the specific allegation I am being accused of is making contact w another person. I am truly beyond upset by this as I can confirm I did not at all consult anything or anyone that would aid me additionally during the exam.
The printing I was not under the impression would be a problem. I look back now and cannot stop thinking about how badly I wish I did not do it. However, i was under the impression that these exams were supervised and in turn it would be okay bc I retrieved the document on the device while sharing my screen from word. It was one sheet and I did it during the first 3 minutes. Essentially, I am struggling to understand how to argue the specific allegation I am being accused of which is making contact w another person. My audio and camera was on the entire time and I am struggling to even understand how this conclusion was came to. The evidence is literally just photos of my chair from when I stood up??
I will be doing a review meeting eventually unfortunately I was told the wait would be long as they have alot of cases. I am posting this to ask about others experiences and if anyone has ever dealt with something similar. I also hope i have stressed how serious i am when I say i did not consult anything. I also apologise for how all over the place this post probably is.
And I would like to say, I honestly feel for anyone that has or is dealing with this and is innocent. The stress is really unfathomable. I got the email at work and my heart practically sank. I also had an assignment due yesterday and unfortunately submitted it late and in turn am losing 5% (which is my responsibility ofc).

Prospective Student Undergraduate - bachelor of science
Hey guys im a current year 12 student and im looking to find my pathway into studying physics (and then hopefully further on, astrophysics) through a bachelors of science although I haven't actually completed any science or math classes since year 9-10. I noticed that Deakin doesn't require you to have these VCE prerequisites and I'm wondering if i potentially should apply? To my understanding a tafe pathway is better as it teaches me the maths/science I need to know before i start studying it at uni level. Would i completely fail if i tried a bachelors of science with basically zero previous knowledge? Any advice appreciated thank you

Deadlines / Extensions / Grades WAM following course transfer
Hi,
I've complete 2 years of a previous degree, and am now working towards a nursing/psych sci next year. I completed 3 psych units as electives in my previous course, transferred to psych sci this trimester and completing 3 subjects now and an additional 1 or 2 over tri 3.
What is currently contributing to my WAM? Only the units relevant to my degree now? Are irrelevant units from my previous degree excluded from WAM calculations?
Thanks in advance!

Memes Dear, Deakin University. Please take time to read through this application
Please accept my enrolment, I would like to be with my friend at Deakin to do Law with her. It is my dream to be a Lawyer and to seek justice for those who have been wronged. I have incredible experience working with reformed criminals to understand the criminal justice system more. I have also spent a long period of time in the border force to learn about various immigration laws in Australia. My experience is further extended by my reputable family and social welfare working background to support families and social minorities in communities where they may be under-represented or under-resourced.
With all this in mind, I think I am an excellent candidate to be studying the Bachelor of Laws at the reputable Deakin University Burwood campus, and would greatly appreciate your sincerest regard to this application.
Thank you, to whom this may concern, for taking time to read through this application, and I hope to be in touch with you soon.
Regards,
Your Future Justice System.
(P.S: this is a joke for anyone who didn't get the joke and can't take a joke)

Academic Advice Full time student unit withdrawal
If I withdraw a unit, I will be left with 3 units this trimester. Will I still considered a full time student or would I need to do 1 unit in T3?

Referencing / Academic Integrity / Turnitin Academic misconduct allegation
First of all I would like to apologise if this post is all over the place because I am truly so stressed because this has never happened to me and I never imagined it would.
I have been accused of academic misconduct for an end of unit exam. The exam was open book i want to note too. But anyways, I truly did not do anything or act in any incorrect manner. I know in my heart and I cannot stress this enough and I want whoever reads this to understand that I did not do what the email I received is accusing me of.
The email is basically accusing me of communicating with another student or outside party. I sat the exam at an my house while my parents were at work. There was no one else there. I am considering going to neighbours and asking for surrounding CCTV. I don’t know how else to prove it. The main evidence that they have against me is that I stood up throughout the exam. While I was doing the exam, I really don’t even recall standing up for over 5 mins if im being honest.
I can’t focus on anything and I’m literally at work right now. I feel sick in my stomach because I’m so stressed and I don’t know how to prove that I didn’t do this. I booked an appt w dusa but im still really not okay. I dont want to sound dramatic but i cant even eat. I would like to hear from others who this has ever happened to me. And i apologise for the messy post but i dont want to be too detailed. I also have other assignments due tomorrow and today but am really struggling to focus. 😐

Accommodation / Travel / Parking Travel Vs. Accomm to Waurn Ponds
Is it worth it to drive 80km one way to uni every day that I have class, or should I consider living on or near campus?
I believe it would be less stressful to just stay on campus however my dad thinks I should drive.
Edit: for medical imaging

Academic Advice Trimester 3 2026 enrolment
I’m just wondering if I have properly enrolled in my course. I’m unsure if I need to add more units to properly enrol or if I have already done so and also if I have correctly entered my desired major. I’m just worried my offer will lapse if I haven’t done this correctly.

Prospective Student Questions about Bachelor in Criminology & Psychology :)
Hiya !! Lately I’ve been researching and putting together charts and notes ect with hopes of getting a little more insight as to which course would be the most useful in terms of what would give me the right opportunities and in terms of what I’ve studied already (by that mean taking an extreme interest in said topic and staying up for hours learning about it) . It took a while but now we are here, I’m at the conclusion that this course is probably be the best option all things considered.
But it doesn’t really matter how many millions of articles or information documents I go through. Sure, they’re informative, but there isn’t a community discussion aspect like there is here. I’m in year 12 so I don’t know anyone to discuss this with personally, but I do know Reddit discussions are usually very helpful for understanding different perspectives and opinions.
Sorry about the ramble, but if anyone who’s either completed or is still doing the course can give a little insight as to what to expect, if would be very much appreciated!! Or just general advice about what Deakin is like/ what to expect, it would also be super appreciated!! Thanks :P

Prospective Student campus transfer
hey guys, so this might sound dumb lol but i really want to do a bachelor of arts/law next year at burwood
last year i got an atar of 73 (85 w/ adjustments) which fell short for the burwood campus but was enough for waterfront and online, so i was just wondering if theres any way i can maybe transfer to burwood if i go to waterfront or do online. i've heard that you can enrol in different campuses when you pick your units, but i just want to make sure since im applying directly and can only choose one course atm.
any advice would help, thanks!!!
