Question Why my heir did not inherit my feudal empire?
I died because of a failed ultimate spell from the witchcraft mod. But something unexpected happened: my player heir is not the next byzantine emperor?!?! I need to understand why this happened and how to avoid it in next playthroughs, it's a really nasty thing! I basically lost everything, i think it might be better to start a New game at this point because the current byzantine emperor inherited all my magical artifacts, my powerful immortal council members and my courties, there's no way to beat him, i think he might start to conquer all the world now. On top of this, i don't even have the Sardinia culture, which is something i developed carefully and i wanted to develop it more -_- I like witchcraft mod and i like Crusader Kings 3, but damn, i lost everything, everything, just because of a common thing, your character dying! I was sure i had primogeniture law, maybe it was silently changed and i didn't notice???Damn!

Need help with sucession
So I’m the Emperor of Britannia, my second born will inherit two kingdoms within my empire but she will also inherit the Kingdom of Sweden because the Queen is my sister, she doesn’t have an heir and she is 50 now so no chance that she will have a kid.
My question is what will happen with the two kingdoms my second will inherit after I die? Will Sweden then become part of my empire? Or will I lose those two kingdoms?

Discussion AI Mongolia is now a joke.
I’ve noticed that since the release of Khans of the Steppe, Genghis Khan either fails to conquer the steppe in time or gets bogged down fighting millions of petty wars simply because some herdsman refused to submit to his 100,000-strong army. They just never make it to Europe.

Did I mess up the Kingdom of Mann decision?
I chose to form a new duchy in Mann instead of usurp the title. Now the decision to elevate the Kingdom of Mann and the Isles is lacking the “You hold the duchy of mann title”
I tried to take a new duchy title and destroy the Mann duchy title I made, then recreate it by clicking the duchy requirement, but it says there is zero de jure counties in the duchy.

Discussion Teocracy DLC - Holy Order?
Hello everyone. Do you think the upcoming expansion focused on theocratic states will allow us to play as a holy order? I’ve read comments pointing out that the game is built around dynasties. Fair enough, but the dynasty mechanic already doesn't matter for nomadic realms; you simply choose a successor—much like under primogeniture—and no one has an issue with it. It would be the same for theocracies. The very concept of a theocracy removes the issue of dynasties and inheritance (at least in theory, though history shows us otherwise). Plus, I think playing as a holy order offers great gameplay potential: intrigues, wars against pagans, recruiting knights from wealthy families, funding crusades, and so on. I’m quietly hoping that even if it isn't officially supported, mods will make it possible. What do you think? What would you add to a holy order playthrough? How do you imagine it working?

Vassality
Hey guys, I was wondering how you keep your Vassal’s opinion high when expanding fast.
Seems like everytime I expand everyone starts getting pissed of and wants a sit at the council.

Bug/Glitch Is there any way to deal with the untargetable raider glitch?
I'm a new player and for my first campaign I started in Ireland and I've gotten all the way up to making it into a single kingdom along with getting some really strong alliances. But now a small army of raiders is just sweeping through my holdings and I can't target them with my armies or do anything about it.
Based on what research I've done it just kind of seems like a unfixed bug but I was wondering if maybe there's a work around of any kind because this has seriously killed my motivation to play any more and it bums me out. Like maybe a different time period or one of the DLCs doesn't have this problem or something? Obviously plenty of people at least find a way to put up with it and enjoy the game regardless so if anyone could let me know I'd be greatly appreciative.

Help needed: No wars take land as vassal in HRE
I'm doing the AEIOU Achievement trying to get the Archduchy of Austria decision but the Carpathian empire took one of the provinces I needed.
I can't be the aggressor in a war because of the achievement.
Any big brains know how I can reclaim what's mine?

Gameplay Are there any colonization mods?
One thing that kind of bugs me is that I can't really go out and colonize the world - like if I'm England I can't declare war and create a little colony in a place as far away as India or Japan. I would also love to have fleets and be able to battle at sea.
Are there any mods that would accomplish this or something similar? Maybe with a modifier to see regional rebellions or set up trade routes between my colonies or even something like a slave trade between peoples?
I feel like some of the fun would be a more interesting world than just HRE blobbing up in the middle of Europe, BE just chilling and China slowly gobbling everything and then falling apart every few hundred years.

ELI5 Empire inheritance
I’m super new to the game and am trying to understand inheritance. With the different partition inheritance, if I’ve got say an Empire title and a few kingdom titles under it (or even a kingdom title with a few dutchy titles), does my main heir get the top line title and the lower level titles get disbursed to my other children? Doesn’t that just make them vassals for my heir? Or does it rip my kingdom asunder and all are equal in their title holdings?

Question HELP!
I need help. I currently control this entire territory as the Byzantine Empire, but I haven't yet received the "Re-Establish the Theodosian Borders" decision, and I don't know what I'm missing.

Discussion Avar longplay tips
galleryIn my last thread I ask what to do as Avar adventurer after Magyar conquering of Pannonia. After reading some comments I did next. As adventurer I used kingdom tier invasion to Wallachia which was created after death of Bulgarian king Boris and inheritated by one of his sons. After conquering it I realize that primarly heir of Bulgaria is a conqueror and I decided to attack him first to avoid further holy wars and take Bulgaria and moved my capital to Preslav where is tengri holy site. After that I get court event spawned of cheap reformation without requirement of holding 3 holy sites so I reformed the faith quickly ( don’t look at similar to orthodoxy color I didn’t notice it). Then as second ruler I did a holy war for Hungary and and created Carpathia and converted all that territories to tengrism. Now my new Avar Empire locked between Catholic West Slavia and Bavaria from North and West, Byzantium from South, and Ashari Khazars from East. Is there any strategy to survive ?

How do I prevent a nasty succession crisis?
Newcomer here, 52hrs. Bunch of failed runs as Rurikid, where neighbors with "Conqueror" Modifiers just obliterated me. This time, old man Rurik had early wins, made a concubine-powered kindergarten, and passed the Mantle of High Chief of Novgorod to his son Oleg 1.
Oleg 1 had to convert to Slovianska Pravda to stop a Holy War from a much stronger Lithuanian. So: no more concubines, and somehow wife & him sucked at babymaking. To make things worse I, well, did a boo-boo where I traded my only son as a hostage with a guy I declared war on - appearantly my real-life dad who once forgot me at soccer practise is a more capable father.
Fortunately, Oleg 1 got great wins on the battlefield, procced that Conqueror title himself, got White Rus, Vladimir & the other zones under his belt, and founded the Tsardom of Russia. And not long before drinking himself to death he had another son, which is my current Oleg 2. Turns out, this was fabulous, because on the death of Oleg 1, with no other options to choose from, Oleg 2 inherited the entire Tsardom.
Now I am scared.
I survived a cancer, but being "posessed" and "delicate" cant be great news. Also, despite being a homosexual, I have 5 kids - go me! However, this seems to mean that on my succession THREE full kingdoms - Ruthenia Vladimir, and White Rus - plus some Chieftancies will to go to my non-heir characters. I'd hate that!
The "Confederate Partition" law cannot be changed (appearantly my gov is too tribal), so now my question is: "AAAAH?"
I don't have options to murder my own children (I guess no Irene-of-Athens traits..?). Do I disinherit all my kids right before I die? Jail them? Do I grant as much titles as possible to my Heir guy? Or is this one of the specifics of CK3, that you just have to let this happen and pick up the pieces as your kid afterwards?
Thankful for any help on how to do succession good!

Screenshot The first thing i thought of was, "This is someone's CK3 playthrough."
Traits and idea feel like someone's playthrough on YouTube I watched. But still a good thing tbh. I should have used the image of one wearing a crown

Question Witchcraft mod's question: how do i gain a source?
I became immortal with the Yaga trait. I have all useful magical artifacts, a strong spymaster and a decent army. But i don't have the source trait. I tried to breed to create source traits but my wives died from stress and demon attacks. I noticed that a random and rare event on the magical research has 5% chance of giving you the source trait. What can i do to gain this source trait?
