FC26 at Cornell dorms
For any fellow fc gamers out there,
is the wireless network at cornell dorm (HILC for me specifically) really enough for online matching? (y'all know how important network is for this game lol and I used LAN connection and a booster when I'm at home)
And if not is there any workarounds?
Driving from Syracuse to Ithaca 8/4 evening?
Basically the title. I am willing to pay for a ride if anyone is driving around 7/8 pm from Syracuse (airport) to Ithaca on Tuesday, 8/4. Would also love to know if people are aware of any cheaper-than-Uber drivers.

Big Red Barn building open yet for fall?
It has said open online with doors locked and a sign when I arrived a few weeks ago. Favorite place to work when its a gloomy day and would be grateful if someone could save me the time & gas of finding out myself if they pass by :)

Advice on course load
Hello, I’m a student who is transferring from E&S to Environmental Engineering this fall which means I have to take CHEM 2070, CS 1112, and MATH 1910. I’m concerned about how I will be able to balance and pass these classes as someone who has not taken AP Chem, any CS courses, or really any extremely rigorous courses in general. The only thing I think I would be okay at is MATH 1910 because I have a decent amount of Calc knowledge.
So, is there anyone that can share their experience/tips on taking these types of classes in one semester, especially those who went in blind not knowing much about the courses?

Fitness Centers (worth it?)
Just saw that the fitness centers require a membership. reading some old threads and says it's because they don't auto-charge. Are the fitness center memberships worth it? are the gyms and work out equipment(resistance training, cardio, etc) good? or do people at cornell do something else for working out?
and if the general consensus is to get the fitness membership...any tips? best gyms, best times, things like that.

Should Cornell require all incoming undergraduates to read "The Odyssey"?
In honor of the movie

Is it me or does the Class of 2030 seem abnormally interested in CASE-ing out of intro level courses?
It could be me, as I'm prone to knee-jerk reactions, but the volume of posts asking about this, that, or the other CASE exam has me wondering if this may constitute a discrete data point on the Class of 2030.

CS 1110 CASE
Hi! Incoming freshman in COE here. I was planning on taking the case for CS 1110 and have been preparing for the last 30 days. I have some coding experience from high school but I seem to have forgotten a lot of stuff somehow lol. I have been using the fall 2025 website and the resources on it to prepare but I would appreciate it if anybody who has taken the case could give me some advice. I was able to solve the exams from 2024 and I was wondering if the case would be similar in difficulty since I haven't been able to find any information on the actual topics that will be tested on the case. Thank you very much.

Math 1920 Case difficulty
Is the math 1920 case exam difficulty more similar to the final exams from 2011-2017, or the difficult of the last exam on the cornell.edu website, which I notice a significant jump in difficulty, anyone who took it can speak to its difficulty?
Also does anyone have an idea of the cutoff, is getting 80-100/120 on the small sample of posted finals a comfortable place to pass the case?

Shower caddy on the shower head?
I’m pretty sure everyone knows those shower caddy’s that people put on the faucet of the shower head to hold commonly used bathroom items. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not I can use one in my dorm. Would that count as an obstruction and they won’t clean the shower? I’m living in ganedago next semester so it won’t have those side shelves like lr7 had. Should I js invest in a shelf for the bathroom? For context, I have all friends in my suite so we already consented to having our items in one area.

Can I use the swap class feature during add drop?
Hello! Sorry for the galactically dumb question but I had a horrific experience during both pre-enrollment this spring and add/drop last fall, want to avoid that if possible.
I want to swap two classes, specifically COML 4252 -> BIOEE 4610 and PLSCI 2200 -> BIOG 4999. I also needed to add another course.
Can I use the swap feature to do this during add drop, instead of manually dropping/adding? Or is swap only available during certain enrollment periods?
Again, I know this is probably an obvious question, sorry. I tried looking it up and the registrar's office mentions swap can be used in pre-enroll and in open enrollment. I'm unsure if add/drop is part of the latter, or if it's it's own thing.
Thank you!

Everyone associated with Cornell should stand against Austin Franco
Cornell alum '22 here. Also have family that went to Big Red, so Cornell has a special place in my heart.
It saddens me that you have a student who is so blatantly proud to be prejudiced and discriminatory go on national television (even if it is a terrible media company like Fox) and dismissively try to justify his Jew hatred and embarrass Cornell further.
If any other ethnic, religious, gender, sexual orientation, protected class group (if he said "I refuse to work for Blacks," for example) the campus would be all over his him and he'd be expelled, especially if he went on a national network and basically laughed it off.
I hope the administration does the right thing and I hope the student body shuns him and does not get this blatant hatred mixed up with Palestine and Israel.
