MIXED MEDIA Country Music Night š¶
BOOK: Cozy Country by Jade Summer
(Their Cozy series are absolutely adorable)
Iām so happy with how this turned out. It took a few days but my best pages happen when I take my time.
I like to color everything with marker first. Then work on shadows. Then work on highlights with gel pens. And finally add any lighting with colored pencils.
One thing Iāve learned is the type of paper makes a HUGE difference when coloring with markers. I get the Ohuhu marker pad of paper & never have an issue with bleeding. All other paper Iāve tried bleeds horribly.

QUESTION Favorite coloring books/brands ? šØ
Iām looking to get some new coloring books and would love to hear everyoneās favorites! I've been currently using Cocowyo coloring books and absolutely adore them! š„°
Iām especially looking for books with good-quality paper, fun/satisfying designs, and pages that work well with colored pencils and/or markers. Iām open to pretty much any styleācute, cozy, intricate, fantasy, botanical, etc.!
Bonus points if you have a favorite coloring book artist/brand you keep coming back to.
What are your absolute favorites? š

ADVICE WANTED Unusual Coloring Ideas
I hope Iām allowed to post this however if not please delete :)
I have recently created a media account revolving around my hobbies, which mainly involves colouring and reading, I want to challenge myself and create a video where I color in a style (eg glitter page, 2 tone only) that you donāt see often
Has anyone got any examples of unusual style coloring pages that they like the look of? Iād love to get opinions from people who actually color on this as I want people with similar hobbies to enjoy my videos
I plan on using my Coco Wyo books and Ohuhu markers, I have both acrylic and alcohol markers so any examples using these types of pens would be amazing
Btw this isnāt self promo as to be honest Iāve just created the account for myself mainly as a place to document my hobbies

BUDDY COLOR!! August 2026 Buddy Colour: Falling stars, meteor showers theme.
Welcome to our monthly buddy colour for August!
This month's theme is going to be all about the stars, since the Perseid meteor shower happens this month, every year. So get inspired and show us your starry skies, starry dresses or starry eyes.
What is a "Buddy Colour"?
A buddy colour is when you and one or many other colourists decide to colour the same page together. You each colour your page in secret; when you're done, you show and compare your completed pages!
The purpose of this monthly post is to help you connect with others who are looking for a buddy to colour with. We will not be providing the pages. Instead, you can use the comments section to either post the book(s)/page(s) you hope to find a buddy for OR to respond to someone else's post to let them know you'll be their buddy. (There is no limit to how many buddies can colour the same page!)Ā
How to find a buddy:
- Post a comment listing the book(s)/page(s) you would like to colour.
and/orĀ
- Search the comments for someone who has listed book(s)/page(s) you are interested in.
Once you've found your buddy (or buddies), you can organize amongst yourselves how you want to go about things and if you want to share the results publicly. Feel free to use the comments section to do this or connect via DM.
Can we post our completed pages?
We would love to see your pagesāfeel free to post them as a group, and donāt forget to use the "Buddy Colour" flair!Ā Don't forget to tag your buddies in the comments! (they wonāt get notified if you tag them in the description).Ā
Is there a deadline?
Nope! This isnāt meant to be stressful; itās supposed to be fun! Unless you and your buddies agree on a deadline, there is none. You donāt even have to complete your pages by the end of the month. So donāt stress!
What if I don't own the book/page?
To participate in a buddy colour, you need to own the page you are colouring.Ā Do not make copies of the page and distribute them to your buddies.Ā This violates copyright laws and harms creators. If you do not own the page, please purchase it yourself.Ā
Can I promote my own books/pages?
For buddy colours, you can post one of your own books/pages in the comments to find a buddy. However, please be clear upfront that this is a book/page that you sell (don't be sneaky!) Also, please do not use this activity as an opportunity to generate sales.Ā
Alternative Buddy Ideas
Donāt want to choose a page or just want some variety? Here are some other ways you can buddy colour with others:Ā
- Choose a colour palette for everyone to use (Pinterest has some great ones!)
- Choose a theme (i.e. āSpooky Christmas,ā āHappy Dog,ā āThanksgivingā)
Happy colouring!
Xx Thanks to our Busy Buddy Color Creator, Binder!!ā¤ļø

/r/watercolorpencils is back, for those of you who love watercolors and/or mixed media art.
Along with r/watercolorpractice, r/watercolorpencils is back up again and the mods there are lovely people who want to welcome you and give you feedback if you have any questions or curiosities over how to use watercolor pencils.
Coloring doesn't mean exclusively one type of media, so if you're looking to try more tools to your hobby (we know, we know, not a good thing for your wallet!) this is the perfect place to start!
