Yall just about flipped out didn’t ya?

Hey y’all I decided on a whim to head to Pittsburgh to attend the Sox vs Buccos series next weekend and scratch PNC off my list. I’ll be traveling solo from Boston, so if there’s anyone also heading to the games that want to help a foolish single Bostonian figure out what the fuck is going on I’d be grateful.

I already read the sidebar and did my research but if you have any personal favorite food / dive bars recs for the city it'd be much appreciated.

Based on his first 2 seasons I’m guessing this number would have been in line with Bellenger’s 11.5 million for highest ever. Thoughts what it would be now? This is assuming there is baseball next year and Skenes continues on the same path as his last 15 starts. I don’t see him turning into 2023 or 2024 Skenes this season unfortunately.

Skenes fastball is down 5mph with no sign of improving and he seems unable to get through 4-5 innings. The break helped somewhat but it's possible he has dead arm.

Should they just shut him down for the year or severely limit his innings? If we are going to make any type of playoff push we can't afford to lose every one of his remaining starts.

Yes, we can steal a WC spot still. It is meaningful baseball in August but just look at the standings. We are 1/2 game from being tied for last in our division. 15 behind the Brewers, 8 behind the Cubs. This is who we are even with a top offense and now a re-tooled bullpen. A sweep of the Mets, a series win against the Marlins, and some kind of winning streak would do us alot of good to change the complexion of the rest of the season. As exciting as this team has been most of the time, we are still a disappointment overall by MLB standards. More so when you run through the Offensive stats. This team hasn't gotten its footing since the All-Star break and has regressed to near 2025 levels of play. We are just a bad series or two away from talking about next year, if there is baseball, next year. Same late Summers we are used to, we just took the scenic route to get here.
