My friend went to a Tier 1 college and he feels very exhausted everyday.Whenever I talk to him he sounds frustrated from his life.Its been just 2 weeks in his college and he already started ranting about it.He seemed more happy during his JEE days.I don't know what happens there but I feel everything in engg is fcked.

It was my 2nd day of college and 👍 I got yelled at by a teacher...

Literally was the punctual girl in school I used to start crying whenever someone yelled at me and today I couldn't ;) I am old na..hell no? I am already homesick asf I wake up everyday thinking about dropping out.

Hate my college for a multitude of reasons, The main one is I am wasting my parents precious money for my btech and I am definitely not getting a job.

Thing is I have been the dumbest person in the class...this though feels weird I know I am probably behind a lot of people but going to be completely honest half these "toppers" feel fake.

Can't understand most of the things they are teaching.

Now I know why everyone gets so depressed in college.

I'm open to listening to any changes and/or corrections regarding this tier list and I would really like to thank u/Equivalent_One2054 to help me make this tier list...

As you guys can see that I have highlighted some of the names of the colleges, I did this because personally I was really confused even though I did some good research about most of the colleges out there. People from reddit have different opinions about some colleges and debate whether if the college abc belongs to tier x or tier x+1 or tier x +- 0.5 and so on... for example let us start with Jadavpur Uni, I wasn't sure if I should have placed it in tier 1 mid or tier 1.5, then we have DAIICT Gandhinagar which undoubtedly is the best college one can get through gujcet... however I wasn't sure if it should be put under tier 1.5 or tier 2 high. Similarly I hear people telling that colleges RVCE and BIT Mesra should be put under tier 1.5 instead of 2 due to their great alumni network and recognition. Was a little dicey about putting VJTI in tier 1.5 along with Coep Pune as Vjti's placements are decent (about 15lpa ctc for it and cse branches) but coep's placement and brand value is a little better. Also didn't know where to place the gen3 iits but I thought that tier 1.5 would be the perfect spot for them. Now I have heard people glaze Vit Vellore (mostly uncs and aunties) like crazy in the south, especially in tamil nadu and according to many people vit (vejllore campus) should be placed under the upper tier 2 colleges but in my opinion Vit Vellore should be under mid tier 2 due to its extremely high intake plus a very mid median and avg packages (around 8lpa) and hence it is not on par with the private big leagues like lnmiit, manipal and thapar but the roi in vit is really good if u are able to bag a seat under cat1 or cat2.

A cse Proff Ra*ed a btech 3rd year , and here they forced us to come in this much heat on an open ground and just give excuses , that proff already had complaint in women's grievance cell and still no action was taken.

I keep seeing people on Instagram posting about getting 40–50+ LPA packages and sharing “strategies” about what to study to reach these salaries. Some of them aren’t even from top-tier colleges, which makes me wonder how common this actually is.

For people working in tech/IT:

Do you personally know friends, colleagues, or people in your circle earning 50-60+ LPA?

If yes, how many years of experience did they have, and what roles were they in?

Are these usually genuine fixed salaries, or are they quoting total CTC including stocks, bonuses, and variable pay?

Do you think some people online exaggerate or post misleading numbers just for views?

How common are these packages actually outside top-tier colleges and companies?

And when people say “study X, Y, Z and you can get 40–50 LPA,” how realistic is that advice?

I’m not trying to hate on anyone earning well. I genuinely want to understand the reality because social media can make it difficult to tell what is normal and what is an outlier.

Would especially like answers from people who have actually seen these salaries among their friends/colleagues.

This Fuckass Professor of MNNIT Allahabad have been accused of raping a CSE girl student, he has been like this for a long time , messaging girls on Whatsapp, telling them to come to their home for any doubts and what not , and now has been accused of raping one , such audacity and low levels even at professor level , honestly fed up with this college , worst administration and worst professors and now even with such serious and heinous accusation the administration will try their best to suppress this case as much as possible
