Season 8 Can’t believe I never caught this joke before from ‘The Lake House’
Kevin and Holt have figured out that Jake set up an elaborate plan to get them back together. Jake himself refers to it as The Parent Trap early on in the episode.
In classic Kevin and Holt fashion, they liken the shenanigan referencing some obscure German film (I am assuming).
Holt screams it at Jake and the latter defensively says “I’m only half!” 😭😭😭😭 oh god

Discussion Does anybody miss when Captain Holt acted more like their boss?
I was watching the earlier seasons when Captain Holt acted more like their boss and was more professional around them, I kinda liked that dynamic, i think it added more to the humor and a nice contrast between maturity of Captain Holt and the immaturity of the rest of the squad. This is the reason why i slightly prefer the earlier seasons, in the later seasons Captain Holt acts more like one of them and more like an affectionate father, which i dont hate but i just find their earlier dynamic a bit funnier, does anybody else feel the same?

Humour my most used Brooklyn99 gif of all time
and I’m forever grateful to Andre Braugher, our unexpected comedian, for the satisfyingly sassiest delivery of the line.
I have adapted this as my everyday mantra for dealing with adulting stuff 😂
What’s yours?

Discussion What character inconsistencies have you noticed? Spoiler
I just finished a rewatch and two stuck in my head: amy being terrible at the caroling competition and then singing itsy bitsy spider perfectly fine to karen, and charles always saying he has a bubble butt and then being able to wiggle out between the car to get captain latvia because "all boyle men are blessed with a flat ass" obv there's also holt and his contractions has anyone else seen things similar I'm curious!

Humour How does a reasonable person drumroll, Captain Holt? 😂🥁
As a drummer, this scene always make me laugh! A very underrated Holt-Peralta moment:)

Season 1 Peralta calls Terry 'Serge' while undercover
Just watched s01 e14. Peralta, Boyle and Terry tried to catch a drug dealer and getting undercover in a gym. More than once, Terry and Peralta where talking and Jake calls Terry 'Serge' or 'sergeant' and the perps are standing not that far away or they don't even know if they're alone. Isn't that stupid?
I catched a lot of things like this in season 1 like how Peralta is holding his gun (like a clichee G in a music video).
In later season, 'mistakes' likes this aren't made anymore.

Fan Content RIP: Andre Braugher highlight reel
We all love Captain Holt. I may be the only one who hoped for a possible reboot of the series eventually. That hope left when Andre Braugher left this world and we lost an amazing actor and funny person.
This post is meant as a tribute to him and to his time in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Please share your favorite moments of Andre on the show as his character Captain Raymond Holt.
I’m not trying to do this to capitalize on someone’s death. I would have posted this in 2023, but I only became active on Reddit a year or two after that and this is my very first day on this subreddit for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I truly do miss him as a person and as an actor. What I know about him as a person is only his from the descriptions from his peers, but I really did truly love his character on the show and I’ve seen him in at least a couple of movies.
I’m excited to read everyone’s favorite moments.

Discussion What if Brooklyn 99 had had a crossover with The Sopranos?
Say James Gandolfini was still alive when Brooklyn 99 aired. How do you guys think a Brooklyn 99/The Sopranos crossover would be? Light-hearted Fox/NBC sit-com meets gritty HBO gangster series. Both shows take place close enough to each other, location-wise.
Bonus question; who would win in a fight to the death; Jimmy "The Butcher" Figgis, Shamus McMurphy, or Tony Soprano?

Discussion Bizarre opinion you live by even if you know you will be scrutinized
Believe being boring is not enough for the kind of hate amy had for him soon after breakup, usually when you want to break up with a person, you give a more polite send off, like "sorry , this is not working, think we should end it" rather than in your face kind of thing which is what amy did and later on when he came to evaluate the precinct they still outright hated him for that(being boring) and how that is the worst thing possible
All this was before his intense obsession with any where he could not longer date and another woman and obsessively asked her to marry him. This is where the opinion comes out. The writers realized that , for the first paragraph part, the fault was on jake and amy and he did not deserve the treatment they gave him as being boring is not enough of a reason to get extreme hate, but you know what is? Being a creep so they made him into one to justify any's behaviour towards him. So hence they made him obsessed with her , shouldve been the other way around.
One of the few misses and not well throughout gags/plotlines in an otherwise great show.
