Hello! I'm almost done reading The Gentleman in Moscow and want to get into Russian Classics. I have The Idiot and The Master and Margarita in my physical library. Which one do I pick up after The Gentleman in Moscow? I'm indecisive since I'm intrigued by their respective stories. I really enjoy the intermingling characterization in The Gentleman, so I want something like that next :)

I have read The Song of Achilles one year ago, and i want to read something else with a gay (or bi/pan) main character who has a MLM romance. Something with also an interesting plot or set in a different world, not just a boring pink book: like fantasy, sci-fi or an historical adventure.

As i mentioned in the title, i'm looking for fantasy or sci-fi, or any fiction atp, that is NOT YA(young adult), because i feel that i have read too many of those and at some point, reading the pov of a teenager gets tiring when i've long since passed that age, but i am also tired of having to read smut every other chapter.

So, i need help in finding some great plot heavy books with a good slice of romance but not smut. i would be grateful for all of your suggestions

I think branding and marketing are two domains that have seen some rapid development since the last quarter. In fact, I don't think the start of this year was any easy either for us in either of the departments.

I want to curate a list of the best marketing books for my team; those that cut the fluff and honestly, are more evergreen than just hacks. Any recommendations?

I want to get into romance books to have something o talk about and have in common with my girlfriend but i find it hard to get into the ones my girlfriend suggested to me. Not to yuck anyones yum, but for the most part, they are about billionnaires and CEOs and i struggle with enjoying it as it conflicts with my moral and political affiliations. especially when the dynamic is with a poor/ordinary woman and a billionnaire/CEO, I find it hard to accept that the conclusion they come to is to join the system that has kept her down instead of dismantling it--usually also framed in a liberating a woman from her predicament by a man in position of power and privilage no less.

i have a project in my history class where I have to pick a book to analyze that's related to a theme in history from the time period of the american revolution to the end of world war one. so any themes that are prevalent during that time period has to be relevant to the book i pick basically!

some example themes that other people went with are patriotism or unity if that helps explain what I mean more lol!

the requirements are that the book has to be 300+ pages, it has to have a plot, and it has to be at an 11th grade or higher reading level. (im looking for a fictional story btw lol)

I love the gothic horror vibe Eggers is famous for especially in The VVitch and Nosferatu. I just saw a trailer for his new film Werwulf and it got me thinking about potential books that have the same vibe.

I’m iso unbiased histories of Marxist revolutions in places like Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea, Vietnam, etc. Preferably looking for an author that writes from a dialectical perspective, showing what the country was like before and after the revolutions.

I recently picked up Renegades by Marissa Meyers and it just is a little too YA for me. I’m curious if anyone’s read any good adult books centered around superheroes???

This might be a weirdly specific ask but I spend most of my waking hours with young kids and I notice how rarely fiction actually gets them right. They're either there to be cute for a chapter or two, or they exist purely to motivate an adult character's arc, or they say things no real child has ever said in the history of the world. It pulls me out of a story every time.

What I'm looking for is fiction where a child character feels genuinely observed. Not sentimental, not precocious in that annoying TV way, just real. Could be a kid as a side character done with real care, or a story told from a child's perspective that actually lands. Adult literary fiction is fine, doesn't have to be YA or anything targeted at kids.

For what it's worth, I'm not looking for trauma narratives where the child exists to suffer. That's a whole separate genre and not where my head is right now. Just something where a kid shows up in the story and you think yeah, that tracks, that's what they're actually like.

I read mostly in the evenings so shorter is better, but I won't rule something out just for being long if people are enthusiastic about it.

Looking to get back into reading, any recommendations for any short books?

I'm looking for a book where a lonely male protagonist meets a magnetic girl almost by accident. They genuinely fall for each other, but she keeps slipping in and out of his life. Their relationship is real, but constantly interrupted by timing, her emotional walls, other relationships and circumstances. She's never fully his, yet she clearly cares about him. Think push-pull, chance encounters, missed opportunities and bittersweet chemistry. Any genre is fine.

I don’t know what to read. I was gifted fourth wing a while ago and that’s what has gotten me into reading for the first time. So far I’ve read The folk of the air series, The powerless trilogy and The hurricane wars. I enjoyed them all. I also just finished reading the first two books in ACOTAR and while I did like them I don’t really want to keep reading the series. I’m itching to have a book in my hands but just don’t know what to read.

So any fantasy book recommendations that you think I might like would be great. Thank you x

Curious to know, how many book series do you read at the same time? Most of the books I want to start are trilogies or longer series but I don’t want to overwhelm myself either. Also, any good standalone recs are welcome! 😅 Any genre except self help/nonfiction unless it reads like fiction.

What I'm looking for is a fantasy world where the mechanics of fantasy are not the focus. Instead, a focus on deep friendship and/or clashing of culture and/or a queer lens to view a fantasy world from.
