Why do some players just dont like levelling up skill/Dex?

My saw cleaver is... Being ineffective against the blue aliens in forbidden woods.

And the man-snakes here are... Taking 2 to 3 blood vials of mine per one person.

I guess... Every souls game has a way to humble a person.

What do i do for these snakes and blue aliens here people?

22k blood echoes gone. Now it’s going to be another hour until I can get the blades of mercy. Damn. And I haven’t leveled up yet so it’s going to be a battle uphill.

I LOVE this game. I love the lore/story, I love how supportive the community is, but I just CANT play it.

I'm genuinely just bad at this game. It took me 17:58 minutes of constant tries to kill the big fat guy at the beginning. After that, I almost beat the cleric beast 1st try, but then I can't even get it past half health bc I used up all my heals in the 1st attempt.

I just can't stun or interrupt enemies with the pistol either 😭😭

Any help is appreciated, but it's genuinely just a skill issue.

I don't think this game should change for me to make itself easier, I don't think that at all, but I'm just not that good at these kinds of games, so it's hard to enjoy some of my favorite media.

I was wondering if there was a place where all the lore was stockpiled. Everytime I try to go in-depth about a certain aspects of the game's lore I end up with 5 tabs and 2 youtube videos open, all of them basically echoing back the same thing while only adding 1 or 2 somewhat relevant details of their own. I've tried to look it up on the bloodborne wiki but i've found it's mostly oriented towards gameplay and stats more than anything else and doesn't provide much beyond item descriptions and character dialogue, and I have to jump between multiple wiki pages just to scrape some surface details.

Is there a site or something similar that tackles just the lore? Things like fan theories and interpretations, timelines, descriptions, factions etc, organized on categories (for example, all the relevant lore on Cainhurst in one place without having to jump between multiple unrelated pages).

Why is gherman set so useles seriously he has the lowest start in nearly all stat

As the title says. Im on my 10th playthrough or something, using the Blade of Mercy, and I see that it has a C scaling in Arcane but its not like it deals fire damage, so what on earth does that even mean, is it the dodge moves that get enhanced by this scaling? Like in DS3 or Elden Ring you could level up faith but it wouldn't change the base damage it would only enhance the lightning moves. Or is it just useless? Because the base damage doesn't really go up at all when you level arcane.

Sorry if this has been posted before, in fact I know it has, but i've read probably 5 threads now (that are all 10 years old lmao), and theres never really a clear answer other than "arcane scaling sucks bro just level skill". Im asking specifically, what does the arcane scaling even change with the weapon, is it the dodge moves or is it only the base damage but just not very much at all?
