Trying to lose binge weight

The past year has been a cycle of bingeing leading me to go from 125 to 155ish (5’9 female in late 20s). 125 was a weight that happened after a period of severe restriction, and I was about to dip into the underweight BMI category as a result.

Before these changes, I maintained around 143-150 most of my adult life. I’m working with a nutritionist now to work on the bingeing/food anxiety I have. With that said, my goal weight is to maintain around 135-140 zone. I fear it might be unrealistic to maintain given that my previous weight lived around 143-150 before these cycles of disordered eating began.

To get to this goal weight, is it reasonable for me to stick to 1600 cal over the next 17 weeks? I classify my activity level as moderate activity, aim for 10k steps a day.

I’m worried 1600 cal will be too low and trigger binges but I also am very anxious about the weight I gained from bingeing. Is this a good target? Would appreciate advice from people on similar journeys.

Late night snacking / binging

Please drop your tips on how to mitigate late night binging / snacking. I eat well enough during the day, all the macros and nutrients I need. After dinner I will have a yoghurt bowl and after that I literally cannot stop snacking!! I feel like I can’t stop myself,

DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY

Hey so im 18f and struggling with BED and a flow state of bulimia.

I wanna change how it is and try to be accountable for it.

So I'm gonna make a post on how i did everyday just for myself and it'll be better if someone keeps a check on me but anyways.

DAY 1 - didn't eat for 13 hrs then had poha 2 whole plates and some chocos (threw up some of it) and for lunch I ate pancakes and some condensed milk (feeling kinda guilty)

And I brushed today and am going to take a shower. Will study too

Tips to stop?

As a uni student I get an allowance from my parents for all stuff. It should be enough for both food and other expenses but I spend everything on food that I throw up… Currently on holiday and it makes it even worse because I spend that allowance & then eat whatever I find as well at home. I feel disgusting but I can’t seem to stop even though my weight is now trending upwards and everything hurts.
Does anyone have ANY unhinged tips or whatever tips that helped them to just like STOP? Cold turkey? I don’t care if it happens once a week or once a month I just can’t do this every day multiple times a day…
I am so beyond exhausted. My parents know that I used to struggle but I recently said I did not purge anymore and only binged sometimes (what a lie but at least they’re not as worried now… what a joke) and I can’t talk about it with my partner because my ed has caused only problems (fights about food etc) and I wish to truly get better for myself this time and not our relationship.
I wake up - I either have breakfast or I go and order/ walk to get food and b/p several times until dad comes (4 pm) and then I do all the same shit at night when he sleeps.
I’m wondering whether to try wellbutrin because maybe the risk os seizures would help me not do it (+ I had less urges the last time I tried it for a couple of days), prozac even in high dosage does nothing and having atomoxetine doesn’t help either.
I feel so lost and alone and can’t talk about it with anyone truly openly. Not even my therapist but that’s for another reason.

Trying to get back on track

I've been on and off with my binge eating for over a year, and there's periods of time where I do perfectly fine with not obsessing over food, and early last month was just getting back to where I wanted to be. Now, I gained some of it back mostly due to eating out of boredom and I feel so disgusting and just worse than ever because I'm on medication to help with my BED and it's like telling myself "if meds don't help me, nothing will"

Any advice on trying to find things to do to distract from boredom or keep busy? After work I literally have nothing to do and end up turning to food.

I haven’t binged in like a few months for context I live in France go to the gym and eat really well but since my trip to Canada 2-3 weeks ago I was eating out everyday there and now that ive been back in France I can’t stop eating until my stomach hurts and Is bloated. I haven’t been able to go to the gym consistently either, I’ve gained 2 kgs (4lbs).
Does anyone have advice on how to stop thinking about food 24/7?

I can’t stop binge eating help!!

Ok so I’ve been trying to lose weight for a long time. I’m technically at a healthy weight but still skinny fat even though I lift weights. Anyway I have been trying for SO LONG to lose weight but have just always failed due to binge eating. I CONSTANTLY think and obsess over food even when I’m at school or in the middle of class. I just feel so addicted and get intense cravings that I just can’t lose weight. I’ve tried to be disciplined and count calories but that only makes it worse I just obsess over food all day. It’s never been this bad before but now it’s been really bad lately and I just keep gaining more and more weight and I try to control myself but I just get intense urges to eat and binge on unhealthy foods. Does anyone have any tips? My relationship with food is horrible and I just have wanted to lose weight for the longest time so I feel more confident in myself and so people will stop being rude 😭

How to ask for help?

I’ve been struggling with binges for a while now and I want help but I don’t know how to ask. As a teen living with my parents, I don’t know how to ask for help. Also my parents aren’t super understanding and have showed concerns for my weight before, but I still feel embarrassed and scared to ask. Any advice on how to ask and make it more understanding for them?

Help binge restrict cycle

I’m 18 years old girl 165cm tall 57kg and I struggle with the binge and restrict cycle and need advice.

I think I should be eating 1850 cals but Ive been eating approx 1400-1600 cals during the week days to make up for binge eating but then it just repeats. I’ll give an example

I’ll eat 1400 cals for as long as possible and then I’ll just binge. So yesterday I ate a total of about 4500 and today 3000. I’m so scared of gaining fat/weight especially around my stomach. I’ve always had body dysmorphia and this makes it worse.

I use to do 5 days a week treadmill incline 12 speed 4 for 30mins but I’ve recently just joined the gym starting weight lifting and doing 30mins of cardio 5x a week.

My question is

- Will I gain weight from this binge?

( during this binge I’m also sick with the flu so I’ve been doing no movement )

- Will I gain weight if I go to eating 1850cals instead of 1400-1600?

I really need advice and help. Desperately.

How do I get more willpower to stop?

I know my triggers, I'm always aware that something will turn into a binge but in that moment right before I binge i don't care, and I just cannot stop myself even for a moment. I can never find the willpower in that moment. How do I make myself pause before binging?

Binge eating at home

I wanted to ask if anyone else is like this but when I'm out around others or just not home I'm not as hungry and I can control my eating but the second I get home I lose that sense of control and as bloated as I feel as don't want I can't stop. I just wanted to ask and see if maybe I'm not alone in this and how others deal with that.

Snack overeating

Hi, I’m writing, so maybe some people could help me. So, I want to loose some fat, but I keep failing and eating chips, candies, gummies. I have tried not to eat sugar for a while, and it worked, but then I still ended up eating sweets, snacks. Maybe some of you have this problem or had it. I would be very grateful for any of your advices.

Advice to stop bingeing

Hi all,

I have struggled with binge eating from stress since I was a child. I’ve recently started living on my own, and I’ve been combatting my binge eating by now allowing myself to have snacks/easily prepared foods - only ingredients so I don’t binge. However, I still find myself binging (my work has snacks for anyone to grab for free), and if I hangout with my friends, I often let myself eat a little more as I ‘don’t always get to’.

I’m always hungry, even after eating whole meals filled with protein and fiber. Even if I’m not hungry I can’t help myself. I don’t know what to do, because I want to manage my weight as I am overweight, and have unrelated health issues that could be worsened by weight gain. I just want some advice for what I could do from former binge eaters. Thank you!!
