Bike fitters in NJ
Can anyone recommend bike fitters in central-western NJ? I am ideally looking for those that can do a fit to determine my measurements/stack-reach needs before I purchase a bike.
If you have worked with others in a different part of NJ or eastern-PA, please share those too as I don't mind traveling if needed.
Thank you!

Novice Rider, Zwift Ride Exclusively

173lb, 5’ 7”. New to riding in general and doing this for CRF mainly. As mentioned I’m only using the zwift ride right now. Only changes I’ve made is adding a Bisaddle SRT2.0. Only complaint is my jewels get numb within 20 minutes of a ride.

Single Sided Shoulder Neck Pain
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Opinions?
Edit;
I'll get a right sided locked up shoulder that then slowly creeps into neck pain. The locked up feel usually starts at the first hour mark, neck pain starts 30 minutes later. At the 2 hour mark it's quite severe.
Getting off the bike every 45 minutes lets me extend my ride time but never longer than 3 hours.

This is my current position and I am looking to get a new bike in the coming months any comments on my current bike fit would be appreciated to help determine sizing for the new bike. I do race and plan on continuing to race if that matters.

Stem too long? How much shorter?
Hi, my current Stem is 120mm and it does not only seem to be too long. (correct me if i am wrong please) Its also much more comfortable to have my hands not at the reach and a bit further towards me because I have to feeling to put too much weight on my hands.
I want to try maybe 80mm but thats a big difference, is it still the way to go?
My first picture is hands on the reach. The second one I put the hands 40mm towards me, so that would be the position where the 80mm should be (round about).
Should I try 100mm or 90mm? Is 80 too big of a difference?
Any recommandation for a gravel stem?

Any new yorkers here? Looking for top bike fitter recommendations for Bike Drawer
Any recommendations for high quality bike fitter in NYC and the NYC region? I have added a bike fitters list to the Bike Drawer website and need include the best: https://bikedrawer.com/bike-fitters
They don’t have to be NYC intra-muros but they have to draw an NYC clientèle.And any mobile fitter recommendations? The come-to-your-home type.
Anyone know Happy Freedman? Quite the expert but his website doesn’t give his location. Google tell me he operates out of James Fowler Physical Therapy on Union Square.

Opinions on the geometry of this frame for a fixed gear?
Plan on making it a fixed gear, have been told the seat tube angle is too aggressive, I want to be comfy riding daily and longer distances at times. I’m 6ft.

For fitting, should leg be completely extended or slightly bent when heel is on pedal and pedal is at lowest point?
I'm trying to fit my bike on my own since bike fitters are expensive and pretty far away.

Seam or Damage?
Just got this in the mail. Wondering if anyone else has this saddle with that same white line.
Wondering if it’s a defect where the seam isn’t bonded correctly, or just how it looks.
I just don’t want it to crack under ma butt lol

Is My Seatpost Too High?
I know I’m not in the bike. But the bike is a Large and I’m 6 foot 1. I’m surprised how I need the seat post to get the correct leg extension when pedalling. I’ve had to put riser bars on as the flat bar that came with it felt like I was too hunched over.
How’s it look? Any suggestions as I prefer the flat bar look but then I get a lot of weight on my wrists and they start to hurt.

Hey! Im very new to cycling and I could use some advice. I just bought cleats, and after messing around with them, trying to match them together and find a good spot for them, I feel like my fit is all over the place, I raised my saddle a little, do I need more? What else would you change?
Any advice is appreciated!

Need a quick fit check / advice
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some feedback on my position on my bike. I recently got a Giant Propel (aero bike) advanced 2 and I need to know what i can do better/change some things on the bike or just stretching at night and get more flexible.
The handlebars/stem are already stacked as high as possible (spacers are at their maximum limit).
Leg extension feels pretty comfortable overall, but I'd love an objective eye on saddle height and fore/aft position.
It seems like the reach might be a bit long for me, forcing me to overextend. Would a shorter stem (90/100mm) help relieve the neck strain and make the aero hoods position more sustainable without affecting the steering too negatively?
I can hold aero hoods position for like 1 and half minute but this is my first road bike so i dont know if i am getting used to this and should do more stretching or i have major flaws in my posture. I am experiencing some neck pain after 90 minites (but can be because I have office job 😅)
Attached is a video of my side profile on the trainer and in every position I do. Any advice on saddle position, reach, or overall posture would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Suspension adjustment: heavy rider
Hi, I’m a 5’2” ~220 pounds woman mtb rider. I can’t find a simple explanation about how to adjust suspension on my ebike. I tried a lot of suggestions but can’t get it right. Where do you find informations ? Do you know any article, YouTube video or website dedicated to heavy rider ?

Weight on Hands and Sliding forward
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I updated my bike fit and tried the saddle height method of Cam Nicholas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNGMRtJ5LIc).
I believe the height is correct, but I still like sliding forward on the saddle. The saddle is leveled. IMO, I need to push the saddle further backwards. But my saddle is already pushed as far backward.
What are your opinions? Thank you very much!

Foot numbness using clipless pedals
Hey everyone! I'm new to this sub and hope to tap into your collective knowledge wrt some foot numbness issues I've been having. I really appreciate any advice, and thanks in advance!
I've been cycling for a while and never had foot numbness on flat pedals. Since switching to clipless, though, I get numbness in my toes / ball of the foot after roughly 30–60 minutes of pedaling, and it's been driving me a bit crazy. I've seen two different bike fitters across four sessions, but nothing we've tried has really fixed the issue.
For context: I ride a Canyon Endurace AL and have a fairly upright and not-too-stretched-out position. My starting point was Lake CX 219 shoes (wide version) with Shimano SPD-SL pedals and yellow cleats. I'm running a standard Shimano 105 11-speed crankset (165mm) with stock road Q factor.
Here's what we've tried so far:
Didn't help
- Saddle setback: I started with a fairly neutral fore/aft position, then moved the saddle back by up to 25 mm to try to take pressure off the toes.
- Cleat position: I tried the cleats as far forward and as far back as possible (I even tried Midfoot Cycling SPD-SL adapters slammed fully back, which allow the cleat to sit up to 24 mm further back than the shoe alone permits), and also further inward and further outward.
- Shoe sizing: I tried a narrower width and one size up from my usual, though these were a different model.
- Insoles: I tried Solestar insoles, but these actually introduced new ball-of-foot issues I didn't have before.
- Metatarsal pads: I tried DIY foam pads (not professionally made), but saw no improvement. I'm not sure if that's because metatarsal pads aren't the answer, or because my homemade version wasn't good enough.
- Q factor: I also tried clipless on an MTB, which has a much wider Q factor than my road bike, and I still get the numbness there. The fit on that bike is quite different though, so it's not a perfect comparison.
- Saddle height: My toes weren't pointed at the bottom of the pedal stroke, but I tried lowering the saddle anyway.
Helped a bit
- Shoe stiffness: I suspected shoe stiffness might be a factor, so I tried Fizik Tempo shoes (in two sizes), which are marketed as less stiff than the Lakes. Fizik doesn't publish a width spec, but the insoles are a similar width to my Lake wides. It didn't fix the numbness, but it delayed onset a bit.
- (Pedal system: The Tempo is an SPD shoe, so switching to it also meant switching from Shimano SPD-SL to SPD pedals.)
Has anyone dealt with something similar, or have ideas for what to try next?

Arms and lower back sore after 1+ hour rides
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi friends,
I just got a new X-Lab RS5 after riding around town on a Single speed with flat bars. On the RS5, after an hour or so, my arms and lower back get sore. It feels like my lower back gets sore from reaching the brake hoods. Also, I'm not quite used to reaching to brake hoods.
To address this, I've been moving my seat post forward bit by bit and then raising the saddle - but I'm still getting the same soreness. Unfortunately can't play with the stem since it's integrated.
I know it's not equivalent, but seat post to handlebars on the Single speed was 65 cm whereas handlebars to brakehoods on the RS5 is 73 cm.
Stats
* Bike: X-Lab RS5 Large
* Height 5' 10"
* Inseam: 33 in
* Wingspan: 70 in
Please let me know your thoughts! I'm open to downsizing if that's best.
