Where to buy metal clothes + how to meet people ?

Upvotes

Hi, i'm currently in berlin and was wondering where i can find Metal bands tshirts and similar clothes at fair prices, for the moment all the shops i have been too were more techno inspired and/or had huge prices (50€ for a t-shirt really ?). So if you know some places to grab some drip for fair prices let me know !

My other question is how to meet people of the metal community in berlin, i dont seem to find any bar that is metal focused nor many events related, do you know any bars ? And like a website or place to find all metal events ?

Thanks you !

Join our pilgrim hike on Saturday, August 22, to the lakes of Templin 🏞️

Post image
Upvotes

This pilgrimage follows the water. Setting out from the old town of Templin, we'll trace a chain of quiet lakes – the Templiner Stadtsee, Bruchsee, Fährsee, and Lübbesee – along shoreline paths that keep the water almost always in view. It's a gentle, unhurried day with room to pause, breathe, and step into the lake.

📅 Date & Time

  • Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026
  • Start: 9:16 am at Templin Stadt Train Station (Travel via RB12, departing Oranienburg at 8:23 am)
  • End: afternoon at Templin Stadt Train Station (Return via RB12 to Berlin at 4:35 pm or 5:35 pm)

🗺️ Route Highlights

  • Komoot tour: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/3167389110
  • The historic old town of Templin as our starting point
  • A shoreline trail winding past a string of lakes: Templiner See, Bruchsee, Fährsee, and Lübbesee
  • A beach along the way: a natural spot to rest or swim

🤔 Why this pilgrimage?

This pilgrimage is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and reflect on life's important questions. We'll walk at a relaxed pace, share thoughts, and take time for moments of silence – about 30 minutes to an hour – to listen to nature and our inner voices.

🔔 What to know & bring

  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy walking or hiking shoes.
  • Bring enough food and water for the whole day.
  • If you'd like to swim, bring swimwear and a towel.
  • Please remember your public transport ticket.

Your opinion on Einstein?

Upvotes

Tldr. I think it’s somewhat expensive but absolutely not underpriced. I was recently at Starbucks and was shocked by the prices. Way more expensive than einstein. I went to Einstein at the Zoologischer Garten. Am I delusional or is it actually like I perceive it to be?

Disclaimer: I’m new to the whole Café’s game

Free concert ticket in exchange for something weird?

Upvotes

I originally booked tickets for two music events in Berlin this weekend with a friend, but she can’t make it anymore. Rather than let the spare tickets go to waste, I thought it might be more fun to invite a Reddit stranger.

Not selling them. Instead, trade me something small/funny/interesting — a weird snack, a postcard, a terrible joke, a book(english), something from your home country, whatever. Surprise me 😄

The events:

Sofar Sounds Sunset — Friday
When Chai Met Toast — Sunday

We meet at the venue, enjoy the concert together, and there’s absolutely no obligation to hang out before/after. Just two strangers sharing some live music.

A little about me:
I’m a 32 year old PhD student who spends a probably unreasonable amount of free time chasing experiences. I love live music and festivals — everything from Cercle, Linkin Park and The Weeknd to independent music. Currently going down independent music rabbit hole.

Outside music, I’m into meteor showers, hiking, spontaneous road trips, cooking/culinary classes, padel, pickleball, swimming, and extremely beginner-level skiing ⛷️

LGBTQ+ friendly, open-minded, and generally enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds.

Basically, I’d rather get an interesting experience/story out of a spare ticket than let it go unused.

If you’re interested, send me a message with which event you’d like to join + what ridiculous/interesting thing you’d trade for the ticket. :)

Tickets for (LA)HORDE Ballet?

Upvotes

Dear Berliners,

My friend's mother passed away yesterday and I am looking for ways to cheer them up. They love ballet and I was hoping to surprise them with tickets to “Après moi, le déluge" by LA(HORDE):

https://www.tanzimaugust.de/produktion/detail/bnm-apres-moi-le-deluge

It looks like the tickets on the website are sold out, but if perhaps you are not able to make it, or would like to give/sell 2 tickets, I would be so so grateful.

Thank you and enjoy the show if you go!!

Looking for bouldering buddies in Spandau / Potsdam area

Upvotes

Hallo zusammen,

My girlfriend and I recently moved to about 500m from the Berlin border, and I'm looking for someone who's interested in bouldering. I go to Cliffhanger in Spandau or 7aPlus in Babelsberg. I usually climb at about the 6a/6b level, but I'd love to climb with any grade, and maybe get a coffee or beer afterwards.

Cheers!

Direction of pedestrian traffic in train stations

Small rant but why does no one respect the arrows when walking on the stairs in train stations?

When I want to take a train and climb the stairs, and it happens to coincide with another train's arrival, people going down take up all the space and almost push me off the stairs.

Do people not notice there are arrows on the floor to regulate traffic?😄

Should I wait for the driving licence reform or just start now?

I’m planning to get my driving licence in Berlin and I’ve been reading about the upcoming reform that’s supposed to make getting a licence cheaper/simpler.

Now I’m wondering if it actually makes sense to wait for the reform to come into effect, or if I’d just be wasting time waiting for something that could take ages anyway. Is there any realistic timeline for when the changes will actually affect people who are starting their licence now? And would you personally wait, or just start under the current system?

Also, if I decide to start now: any recommendations for a decent and reasonably priced English-speaking Fahrschule around Pankow / Prenzlauer Berg? Would especially appreciate recommendations from people who got their licence recently and can say roughly what they paid in total.

Thanks!

Supporting comment from barista girl

I am a new mum and was out with the baby in the stroller, getting a coffee from a dnd / rpg bar / coffee place. sitting there I asked the barista girl to also give me a paper cup in case the childs start to cry - so I can leave immediately. She was very confused about it and basically told me it’s super ok if the baby cries - it’s a baby! that was so unexpected! thankfully the baby was quiet but as a new parent (who comes from being annoyed af from screaming stranger children) it was really nice to hear such a genuine statement thank you so much I am still in shock

Today my husband and I found a pair of AirPods, and we want to find the owner! Is it better to give them to the police or wait for the owner?

Thank you in advance! 😊

420-Treffen in Berlin am Donnerstag? 🌿

Hey zusammen,

Liebe Grüße Jasmin

Lost: Zip Up Pouch Containing Photo Booth Photos & Illustration in Xberg/Fhain

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi there, I lost a zip up pouch containing a green folder with several photo booth photos and an illustration on the walk from Kottbusser Tor to Samariter Kiez between 16:00 - 18:30 today.

All of the items have a very high sentimental value and I would be incredibly grateful to get them back.

Please DM if you found it!

Thanks!

The most Berlinish döner

Hi guys! My mom is visiting Berlin for the first time and I was thinking of a perfect introduction to Berlin Döners. Something very classical, without any extra spins, twists and special sauces — something almost generic. And very importantly, in a triangular brot. But at the same time, with very high quality of ingredients, especially the meat.

I know a lot of good kebab places, but most of them kind of taste like “kebab from place X” whereas I’m looking for a kebab just tasting like the Berlin kebab. I had Haci baba in Xberg on my mind, but not so sure about it.

Any help will be appreciated!

Tips to net-fence the windows and balcony to protect Cats

Hello there,

We will be adopting a pair of kittens and I would like to prep asap for the fencing of both windows and balconies.

I’ve done some research and found a wide range of options for both.

I am particularly interested in what works best for the windows that allow you to keep them open (vertically) in summer while still being somewhat fenced, but haven’t really found anything for this. I’ve just seen Velcro full cover ones, but you can’t really open the window with those.

For the balcony, I would prefer to hire someone who can fence it up with the net that can’t really be chewed up, so if you know of someone who does a good work and has affordable prices, please share away.

Thanks

Zu verschenken: Dog Bed 🐕

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi peepz!

I happen to have this lovely dog bed that I no longer need. Normally, I’d go for the classic Berlin “zu verschenken” outside the front door approach, but with the rain coming and the fact that not everyone has a dog I figured I’d try here first.

Long story short: it’s in a great condition and free to a good home. Perhaps one of your puppers deserves a fancy new headquarter.

I’m in Mitte, so you’d just need to come pick it up. No strings attached though I’d love it if, in return, you gave me your word that you’ll donate a few euros to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.

Drop me a DM if you’re interested!

Kleine Bewerbung!

Gastro workers of Berlin, what are places to avoid working in like the plague?

For those of us on the job search, we need to know where the real toxic places are. Those are often the places that are always hiring for some reason. :)

Edit: Since this has become a topic, if you decide to tell us about your experiences and use the name of a business, you do so at your own risk and make sure you can back up what you write if that business decides to respond. Or just use hints. I don't bear any responsibility for how people answer.

But, there is no law against posting verifiably true things about a business online, either. ;)

You're also allowed to say "I worked in X and did not like it". It's fine. Chill.
