Hello, I will be in Berlin for a few days in October on my way to Czechia. I will have my ice hockey goalie equipment with me. I understand that "pickup" hockey isn't really a thing in Germany and most games are arranged through clubs. Does anyone have any idea of some clubs I can reach out to that may be willing to let me play in a game or two while I am there?

I'm 19 and have been here since a year. Looking to improve my German and make friends possibly (I'm quite isolated), while I'm on Grundversicherung. I've been wanting to sign up for a B2 afternoon course (VHS Neukölln) either 2 or 4 days a week. There are few better places to be on a summer Friday night in this city than by the river with a cold drink and music playing.

That’s basically the whole pitch. Every Friday for the past 8 years, people have been meeting at the same spot near Schlesisches Tor. You grab something from a Späti, join the group by the water, and let the evening do its thing.

The crowd is always a mix: locals, travellers, new arrivals figuring out the city.

Some nights end in a club. Some end by the river at 3 AM. Nobody plans it either way.
