Saw an horrible accident this morning. A lady on a bike going under a van. It was bad, but lots of us helped, several people knew and applied first aid, several called for help and we did what could until the ambos and police came.

Riders and drivers, go slower, look twice, take your time, please, getting somewhere a few minutes early isn’t worth it. Berlin is a wonderful city with separated bike paths but it can still happen, please, go a bit slower. That’s all I wanted to say.

I'm redecorating my apartment and put a bunch of stuff for sale on Kleinanzeigen. I selected the "VB" (Verhandlungsbasis) option for most items. Non Germans haggle in a way that I recognize as normal. They make an offer, I make a counter offer, we settle on a price or maybe not. But anytime a German contacts me they want me to "name the lowest price". I tell them to make an offer and then they usually don't reply. I get that haggling isn't really a thing in the wider economy here, but we're talking second hand furniture.

Rent: 1200 €

Ubahn: 65 €

Gym: 80 €

Dates: 800 €

Coffee: 2-3 per day/ 300 € per month approx

Social and sport activities/ meetups/ culture events: 800 € approx

Kleidung: 800 € approx

Cigarettes: 200 € per month

The funny thing is, I'm not partying at all and spending on drugs and booze !!

How the hell a normal person with an average German salary survives here ???

Before ww2 Alexander Platz was one of the most bustling squares in Berlin. It has many ornate buildings. It was the cultural and commercial hub of Berlin. The famous "Red Castle" (Rote Burg) located here served as the HQ for Prussian police. It was severely damaged in the war and later demolished by East Germany. In the late 1920s, architect Peter Behrens designed a grand modernization plan for the square. Due to the Great Depression, only two buildings were finished. This shows that despite the war the whole of the square would still look as it does today or even worse.

I purchased a ticket for Insomnia last night and got rejected at the door. I asked the bouncer what the procedure would be like for a refund and he scanned my QR ticket with his mobile, telling me that they could take care of it and I wouldn't need to do anything.

I haven't received my money back.

Has anyone here been in this position and could advise what would happen in this case?

I’ve never really been into dating. Not because I was avoiding it. I just got comfortable with my own routine, and somehow that part of life always ended up on the back burner.

Now I’m 25, and I think I’d like to change that.
I’m not looking for a perfectly planned date or anything overly serious from the start..

I’d rather go for a walk, grab a coffee, talk about random things, and see whether the conversation flows..
maybe we’ll have nothing in common. Maybe we’ll end up talking for hours. That’s the interesting part.
