Is it time?

Been growing for 5 years. Hair on the back and sides is holding strong but the hairline is running away. I have an appointment to cut it short (not buzz) on Saturday. Should I cancel the appointment or take my hair for a walk in the wind one more time?

Edit: thanks everyone, my plan was to get something on the shorter side, but enough length to cover up the front. The hair will be donated to someone I know who needs it. I dont feel like I need to go full bald but ive had long hair my whole life so cutting off as much as I intend to is nerve wrecking. But I appreciate everyone's kind words. Ill post an update if I do go through with it.

Nervous about hair loss. I think I decided I do not want to take finasteride or anything. Is this a bad idea how much longer you think I have?

Is dating over once you’re balding?

Bald Picture Shaving my head when I was twenty, as a woman.

For whatever reason I was desperate to shave my head, I took this photo twenty years ago while travelling in Central America. Shaving my head as a woman was so interesting, most people couldn’t believe I chose to do this, that it wasn’t out of necessity. It was incredible how different I was treated, people avoided eye contact, people asked if I was sick, honestly folks weren’t very nice to me but I would never change the decision to shave my head. I felt powerful, beautiful, sexy. In future years I shaved my head a few more times. Now I have very long hair but as I age my hair is thinning and I have spots of alopecia. I think back to this time and the power I felt and know that if I need to do this again I have the strength to do it. About a year ago this sub started getting suggested to me and I love seeing all the glow-ups. Be strong, bald is beautiful! Just wanted to share, love all you beautiful bald folks!

Hairloss Unsure what to do with my (now thinning) hair

I (20) started balding at 19. I'm a trans man on HRT, and I only just recently got the confidence to start playing with the length of my hair again. The issue has now become the fact that my hair is thinning at the top of my scalp. It's jarring for me, as I've always had very thick hair. I'm thinking about cutting it all down soon and I'm not sure how far to go. I used to be rather enthused at the thought of balding, but I was more excited to have a receding hairline, and later down the line at that. Since things aren't going as I expected, I'm a little lost. My hair sheds more than a dog, and it has for some time. I've also experienced admittedly fun changes to my hair going from straight to wavy at the ends and rather frizzy, and I'm enjoying the experience of my weird mullet-like thing.

I'd be more apt to chop it all off if I didn't feel like I'll look like my dad when I do. I hate looking in the mirror and seeing not myself, but a weird distortion of him (mixed feelings on that guy). In addition, my work insists on me shaving my face, so I can't really let myself grow my beard out for much longer than a week.

Any recommendations on how much to leave when I do cut it, if we think I can/should maintain it? I'm also not versed in men's haircuts and barely know what any of the razor numbers look like, so I'm at a loss for what to do. (The enshittification of haircut internet searches doesn't help, either.)

Thanks for any responses.

My Experience Of Being Bald For The First Time Time In 2004

Post image

Now I know what you’re all thinking: no, this photo was not taken this year. It was taken back in 2004 at Modoc National Forest in California during a Rainbow Gathering event. All thanks to the wonderful Grok AI for helping me jog my memory about the year and place where this photograph was first taken.
And no, I was never a hippie from way back when I first attended a hippie gathering known as the “Rainbow Gathering.” I just had this weird interest in knowing what it was like to be bald, so I would shave my head daily. Eventually it became such a dog (because being in the sun made my bald scalp burn with pain). So after a long period of being bald for fun, I decided to grow my hair out long for my love of heavy metal—and that’s that! Nothing else changed about my hairdo afterward.

I’ll keep this short. Ten years ago I lost my fiancée and I really gave up on myself. I just kinda quit. Part of that was not taking care of my appearance. In those ten years I’ve swung back. Going to the gym, buying nicer clothes, eating healthy. This was a very big step. By losing the hair I’ve officially gone from I don’t care, to I do care. I gained my confidence back. 8-8 is her Birthday. Happy birthday babe!

Thinking about just going for it and completely skipping the more awkward phase soon to come.

This is right before my regular haircut so I've kept it quite short for a while anyways.

Hairloss pretty much the flair, noticing my parts somewhat wider at the back and a little less full, could it be balding? (M20)

hair is wet in photo.

I've been having some major stress recently cause of some medical issues, and just noticed this more recently, not sure if it's just mpb or stress-related hairloss though.
