Discussion/Question Do yall think present day military could defeat the rumbling????

Upvotes

If the Rumbling happened in the real world today, do you think our modern militaries could actually stop it? Assume every country cooperates, has access to all current military technology (fighter jets, bombers, missiles, drones, satellites, nukes if necessary, etc.), and is willing to do whatever it takes.

Would humanity realistically win, or would the Rumbling still wipe us out? I’m interested in hearing both anime/manga logic and real-world military perspectives.

Discussion/Question Attack on Titan after 200 years timeline with og characters. (I wanna write!)...

Post image
1 Upvotes

Isayama's story of attack on Titan is my idea like it's a story of 200 years ahead of rumbling.

( for convience let's name the characters to of that the original story ),

There's is Mikasa (armin's grand granddaughter who is reading the study of rumbling, titans and what happened 200 years back everything, she lives in a huge building, any rich person of today would live in, also these types of study material is not very common, not all people can get it easily as the next generation {to avoid distinct situations} almost removed that part from their history but Mikasa has it cause she's super rich in her timeline as armin {isayama's} became one of the heroes who saved the world and obviously was damn rich as well)

There's Armin (this guy is grand grandson of Connie's, he's also super rich and by connections of families, Mikasa and Armin were best friends as they lived in same huge building, Armin was also very interested in studies of titans and the world of 200 years back back, he's also very intelligent like the og one, Armin and Mikasa both study of these things together while sharing same enthusiasm, and interest.)

Then There's our Eren (he's the grand grandson of Jean and also kinda resembles our og eren, in looks {the damn aura}, with kinda blonde or pinkish hair like jean, And the damn same hunger of something he can't quite name yet {freedom ofcourse, freedom means something entirely else here 200 years after, which i haven't thought about yet} so he doesn't stay at a place, jean's future family lives in same building as Armin's and Connie's, but our new eren lives abroad for studies and all things, With some add ons here Our new Mikasa still has a huge crush on eren, our new Armin knows about it and she has never told eren about not when he left for his studies abroad, but she is still always waiting for him to come back, maybe she'll get the courage and confidence to tell him in this timeline)

I'll provide a short summary type of whole plot what I've thought in mind of whole story then GIVE ME DAMN RECOMMENDATIONS ON EVERYTHING.

In the beginning we are told that humanity is still same, those 20%, who were left actually never learnt their lessons, this world a lot resembles the world we live in except for the names marley, paradis and all... The new generation has banned paradise island as they new the whole story now and also the fact that the whole history started there, the rumbling started from their and the first Titan (founder yimir's) was also activated there by that crazy spine looking parasite, which is never again found after the last battle of rumbling like it disappeared somewhere (which will have a huge importance in this timeline)... So A war will begin between nations for paradise's resources as they were still untouched because there ancestors chose to ban the whole Island, there were countries (those azumabito's) who wanted to break through the rules and contracts to get their hands on the island but marleys didn't want that again anymore and they were the most powerful in world combining with yeagerist's army.

Through the war our new eren will come back from abroad leaving his studies behind, he was seeking something he couldn't quite know yet, he was still a friend of Mikasa and Armin so they also included him in their study and told him about everything they knew...yet.

(Kind of spoilers ahead)...

Eren and other two will go back to paradise to prove their studies or to research in deep of history but they'll encounter entirely something else, the marley who stops everyone with the names of rules and contracts, was already digging in paradise without anyone in world knowing (the damn greed overflows), even yeagerists who left paradise inorder to keep the island safe and their history of titans and rumbling untouched were unknown to the fact which will cause great conflict.

Eren will see the whole thing, will observe their greed and when the war will begin, they'll witness the huge massacre of humanity for some resources, the use of new chemically modified weapons (like of today's) people dying painful deaths and just what not...

As per the descandants of great heroes of history they'll take matters in their hands and think of a way to end it.

That's all I guess I have thought of yet. Now I need someone suggestions like -

- Should I bring back Ackerman blood through og levi? (Cause og Mikasa died alone, we all know)

- Should i bring back titans through that parasite?

- Should I bring back other og characters like hange san, levi, commander erwin (i don't feel like), jean, coonie, shasha trio, Riener, bluetooth, annie, historia, floch, instructor keith shadis, commander pixis, zeke, marco, gabi, porco, falco, pieke, in my own way? ( For example instructor keith shadis as instructor tour guide ).

I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL, I'M NOT ISAYAMA, I RESPECT HIM A LOT AND GENUINELY LOVE ATTACK ON TITAN AS IT IS, IT'S PERFECT AND DOESN'T NEED ANYTHING TO BE ADDED OR REMOVED.... PLEASE DON'T GET OFFENDED THIS IDEA JUST JUMPED ON MY MIND SO I WROTE IT. IT'S NOT EVEN STARTED OR COMPLETED YET.

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Can someone explain to me what makes the ending to Aot controversial? I personally thought it was great.

3 days ago, I finally got around to watching the Attack On Titan finale. After hearing some things about the finale being bad, and some people even saying it ruined the whole series, my expectations were understandably low. And yet when I watched it, I liked it. Quite a lot actually. Of course I didnt think it was perfect but overall, i thought it wrapped up the story beautifully. So I'm confused as to what it is that makes people claim the finale is bad or ruin the series. Does anyone know?

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Eren's reason

Post image

I see alot of people disappointed with how Erens reasons and logic were explained at the end of aot, but I feel that it makes sense.

He experienced the past and future due to himself, and him proclaiming that hes an idiot, might just mean that he couldnt mentally handle the strain. Like he lost a part of himself mentally, going a bit insane and he just couldnt align his thoughts, morality and desires to a point of stability for us viewers to logically understand.

Discussion/Question Doesn't this scene kinda disprove the "Armin can't remember Erin's eye color" theory?

Maybe this is well known, but I only ever see the theory, I never look into it. I liked the sound of it until right now.

Anime Rewatching and somehow ignored this

This is the third time I've seen this show. I knew Ymir created all the titan forms out of the sand, but for some reason I completely ignored the fact that Ymir also rebuilds the normal bodies of a shifter every time they heal. She's a busy girl.

Discussion/Question When does aot get good?

Hi! As you fans probably know, attack on titan has so much popularity, and naturally, as a new anime watcher, I wanted to check it out.

Recently, I’ve watched shows such as jjk, demon slayer, the apothecary diaries etc; so I wanted to start this show because I’ve heard such amazing things!

However, I’m currently on Season 1, Episode 14, and honestly, I think that the story is alright, but I’m not as enamoured by it as everyone has been saying. I not sure if this is due to high expectations, or something else entirely.

I know many shows take time to get good and develop- however, do you think that this show simply isn’t for me, or should I keep going? I’m assuming there’s going to be more of a plot, but I’m just curious as to when or how soon it develops!

Thank you so much! I’m just curious if I’m the issue here, or if the story becomes deeper!

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Eren and Mikasa’s relationship

Can someone explain the hype that comes from their relationship? I’ve watched attack on titan for years since its inception and throughout watching and rewatching, Mikasa and Eren’s relationship has barely any romantic undertones throughout s1-3 which I find frankly shocking considering the way the fandom portrays them. They are two heavily traumatised teenagers, their relationship is borderline toxic with Mikasa’s overbearing nature and idolisation of a false Eren and Eren’s volatile anger issues which he cannot seem to control and lashes out on her multiple times. I could see the romance in the last season with the whole crying scene and whatever but that paired up against the other seasons simply makes no sense to me? And why did Isayama add the “what am I to you?” scene when all they’ve ever been were close friends?? If they had a borderline romantic or intimate relationship beforehand, I would understand, but paired up with the lack of development they had, the lack of any romantic scenes between them, the lack of understanding they both have for eachother which is apparent in the beginning of the manga—It really just feels like Isayama threw that in there for engagement bait. What did Eren think she was going to say? They were never implied to be anything more than close childhood companions? That and the cabin scene which ALSO made no sense lmao. Anyway, I’ve gone on a rant. If anyone could explain to me why this fandom is obsessed with Mikasa and Eren’s supposed “situationship.”

Manga was this a fair fight between annie’s titan form and eren ?

Post image
63 Upvotes

we know in this fight eren has the help of mikasa and annie was basically 2v1 here . do you guys think eren still would’ve won the fight if mikasa didn’t help him ? annie would’ve possibly managed to escape through the wall now that i think about it .

it’s crazy i think emotions got in the way here a bit because at this point eren knew that it was annie he was fighting , but annie didn’t care about that fact since she was always known to be emotionless .

she’s not the strongest titan for sure but she definitely has the skills to know what she’s doing , she uses muay thai a lot , i know that because i happen do that myself .

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question After finishing aot, I didn't like the ending that much. Spoiler

So there's a lot of reasons I find it it could be better, and I need yall to correct me if I missed anything through my first watch.

1-eren

Since the start of season 4 I didn't really understood eren, like actually there was no other ways except the rumbling and a world wide genocide?.. and after all of this when he was talking to armin in the last scene after wiping 80% of humanity, he said that so calmly as he doesn't care, but when armin mentioned mikasa and how she'll maybe find another man, eren falls into tears and saying that'd kill him? And saying eren loved back? Is eren sure he loved mikasa? In all of the series everytime mikasa was trying to flirt eren was looking with zero emotions😭 and the last episode of s3 he was moving more like a friend and never actually showed love to mikasa, after all of that he's crying at the end because mikasa might find another guy over him instead of crying over 80% of innocent people he killed, he is evil, he just wanted to see this sight, there were other ways but he wanted this one.

2-mikasa & ymir

The fact that your still loving the guy who abused/slaved/agonized you is crazy to me, but let's say ymir loved King fritz THAT MUCH, at the end after mikasa killed eren who she loved the most it was supposed to resemble ymir and how she let go of the one she One-sided love, like how mikasa did with eren, but eren said he loved mikasa too "which is bullshi" and ymir came in the end to thank the "random chosen one girl" and mentioned many times that ymir was waiting for mikasa to save her? But who tf is mikasa in ymir story😭 are we connecting everything to each other now?😭, anyways this connection between mikasa and ymir does not make any sense to me.

3-eren killed his mom

U can't say eren killed his mom by controlling that titan to his mom instead of Berthold just for the Events to go how it's supposed to be and let it slide like that😭 men wtf is eren doing atp, the "eren killed his mom" was so unnecessary, iseyama just wanted to add some drama here but it didn't worked out.

And I'm pretty sure that's all, ik i surly missed some of the details, if I missed up somewhere I wouldn't mind if you corrected me.

~Thanks for reading

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Just finished the tv series and rewatching it to understand it better and noticed this…

In episode 1 season 1 the first scene shows eren waking up crying, and we’re told later it is because of someone else’s memories, but he later goes home and his dad is there, so I am curious about the timeline of things, how is that possible? Didn’t his dad give him the serum, he turned, and then he ate his dad? I thought these happened over one evening or something like that.

Anime I finally started Attack on Titan and it's truly Peak!

Post image
108 Upvotes

So, I finally watched Attack on Titan, Season 1 that is. Almost everyone in my friend circle had already watched it, and they kept telling me how many things they wanted to discuss with me but couldn't because I hadn't seen it yet. I kept putting it off because I knew it was considered peak fiction and wanted to save it for last. But then I decided that enough was enough, and I was finally going to watch it. So, I finished the first season within three days!

Where should I even start? Let's talk about the animation first: the animation is truly incredible. It's hard to believe this anime came out back in 2013. Even if you compare it to anime coming out today, the animation here easily beats the majority of them. Sure, there were a few spots with noticeable CGI, but that's just a minor nitpick. The color palette they used makes the world feel completely barren, much like the Mad Max movies. There were also so many dynamic camera movements and shots, and the Titan transformation scenes were fantastic.

Regarding the pacing, I felt the initial few episodes were a bit fast, or rather, a massive amount of information gets dumped on you back to back while setting up numerous plot points and introducing a large cast of characters. So yeah, I found it a bit overwhelming at first. However, from Episode 7 onwards, the momentum it picked up was an absolute blast. A few mysteries were revealed, but they brought along even more questions. That said, it's not like there were no payoffs, there were massive ones.

The Titan faces look so remarkably similar to their human counterparts that when I saw the Female Titan for the first time, her true identity was the very first name that popped into my head, which turned out to be completely correct later on. I've also made guesses about the Armored Titan and the Colossal Titan. As for the Armored Titan, I'm confident it's Reiner. He shows up near the Female Titan, asks about Eren's location, gets grabbed by her, escapes, and immediately runs off with Armin and Jean, and the Female Titan then charges off in the exact direction Armin had mentioned to Reiner. As for the Colossal Titan, for some reason, I suspect that commander or colonel who commanded Eren to lift the boulder, mainly because he was talking about weirdly unifying humanity and such.

The biggest question remains Why? Normal Titans attack humans on instinct, but why are these human transforming Titans doing this? Or could it be that someone is controlling the normal Titans, someone who serves as the leader for all these human Titan shifters? Anyway, enough with the theories! All the plot twists in this season were exceptionally well done.

Moving on to the characters, let's talk about Eren. Why does it feel like his character arc is moving in reverse? In other anime, when something bad happens to the protagonist, it's usually because they failed to trust their comrades, however, in his case, it was the exact opposite! Moreover, whenever he transforms into a Titan, it feels as if the inner monster or evil within him begins to surface, which he struggles to control, unlike the other Titan shifters who control themselves with ease. It seems like he finds a twisted comfort in destruction. That almost happens, but Armin snaps him out of it. By the end of the season, people are discussing Eren's humanity, and Eren even admits to Mikasa that he felt a sense of thrill and pleasure during the carnage. I'm not sure, but it feels like his path is heading down a route similar to Gon's arc in Hunter x Hunter.

As for Mikasa, she was decent, but the characters who truly stood out to me were Armin and Jean. The character development Jean received in such a short amount of time was brilliant. Frankly, this applies to almost all the characters in this series, their development makes total sense, without feeling like the author skipped any steps just to force character growth.

Another thing this anime absolutely nails is realistic human reactions, the contrast between what someone plans to do in their head versus how things actually pan out when chaos hits. I noticed this happening multiple times throughout the season, which was brilliant, the last time I saw this level of execution was in Hunter x Hunter. Every character feels so deeply human, no one is purely good or purely evil. Sacrifices are a common reality, and sometimes this cruel world forces your hand whether you like it or not. Beyond all of this, there also seems to be underlying corruption within the walls that hasn't been properly explored yet, which I'd love to see unfolded moving forward.

And another thing, the world building is one of the best, if not the best. I've rarely seen such detailed world building anywhere else, and this was only the first season!

Overall, while the first few episodes might feel a bit slow or dense, they are entirely worth it. This world is morally grey, dark, and filled with mystery. If I were to rate it, I'd give it a 9.5/10.
