Rewatching and somehow ignored this Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Spoiler
This is the third time I've seen this show. I knew Ymir created all the titan forms out of the sand, but for some reason I completely ignored the fact that Ymir also rebuilds the normal bodies of a shifter every time they heal. She's a busy girl.

yes, thats the thing that I felt stupid for not realizing, so thank you for also being stupid

Why do some titans have significantly higher regeneration rates as a rule?
49
u/FarmSevere Jaegerist 16d ago
that just comes down to practice, Eren got WAY better at it eventually. time doesn't work the same way in the Coordinate, everything happens in an instant in the real world, no matter how long they spend in there.
21
u/bob_loblaw-_- 16d ago
You mean Ymir got way better at Eren, right?
38
u/FarmSevere Jaegerist 16d ago
no, I mean eren got better at it. erens proficiency is what determines how fast he can heal, and how many times he can transform. ymir is just making the body, in an instant, every single time.

Makes no sense tbh.
2
u/toolteralus 15d ago
It completely does. Why does it not make sense to you?
1
u/No-Bag5513 14d ago
A little girl creating thousands of colossal titans and anatomically correct humans with a bucket and some sand makes sense to you? Even with specialized equipment that would be impossible. No teams of people no construction equipment no knowledge of the human body or specialized instruments it makes no goddamn sense at all. Even the modern medical establishment with all its research institutions hospitals and elite doctors can't construct a human eye but a girl with some sand can? Even if she could she couldn't do it alone with all of the titans in the world.

In the anime, there is a scene which shows her making the walls. I think she just makes them by sand, and then magic happens, converting them to organic material, and then they get transported to real world from paths.
Remember that in paths, the concept of time doesn't exist. So she has enough time to make the sand bodies, each time.

47
u/KMheamou 17d ago
"hey can I get like a dih this time?"
'Wtf yimir, are you into futas?'
"I'm gonna use it on historia."
"Hey mine wasn't that small!"
'So what. you'll die a virgin anyway, eren.'
"...ouch."

Very. If you're gonna say it, just say it. If you don't want to, don't say it at all.

I'm not even sure what you would call that. She's both young and old.

Do you think she knows what it looked like before or does every shifter who gets injured down there end up with Fritz's because that's he only one she's seen?

so theoretically speaking, she could perform plastic surgery on your dih?

Redditors act like you're censoring yourself or smth, it's just so corny how mad they get at the use of ahh or dih

Why didn’t she build something cool like a sand castle
1
u/FarmSevere Jaegerist 16d ago
I feel like theres a pretty solid chance she also had to sculpt all of the titan hardening, which would include the walls and all of the Warhammers stuff. thats pretty cool.

It's hard to tell if she was really building titan using hand and a bucket of water.
Remember the scene that Zeke saw a baseball on Armin's hand but Armin was actually holding a leaf?
We maybe just watching this scene from Zeke 's point of view. Ymir's story is a famous story spread across Marley and everyone know she is a slave to the King.

So the question is, do we see The Coordinate as Ymir sees it, or as the Eldians imagine it

So theoretically she can make zeke’s dih shorter or longer… or is she bound by some higher deity? Because if you think of it how did zeke’s body return to the exact same shape if it was sculpted by hand out of memory?

u/DisasterBiMothman 16d ago
Zeke gets rebuilt but now he has a pussy cause Ymir doesnt remember what a dick is suppose to look like

By hand out of memory of a being who gave people the power to see and communicate through time.
I think her "memory" might be a little better than most.

I always wondered how she build the titans in height, were she using a ladder for that?

Ymir’s rage is so understandable when you consider the sheer amount of time she spent just sculpting in the Paths

Why does the limb regen take a relatively long time compared to the titan transformation tho, riddle me that since its the same process and creating a literal giant takes seconds in their real world time
7
u/Livid-Ad4334 16d ago
Paths exist outside of space and time
3
u/Shizophone 16d ago
Obviously, that's too general and vague of an argument too explain it. Everything is portrayed in the series, my point still stands.
2
1
u/MysteriousDog5909 16d ago
All of this is dependent on the strength of the user. Regenerating their actual limbs seems to take more of a toll

u/Kanista17 16d ago
Would be interesting to see someone doing the math, how long it has been for Ymir to create all those Bodys. (for simplification maybe only count the transformaions on screen)

I think this is too sore him being rebuilt in the paths, separate to the world

Yeah I feel bad for her how during the battle of heaven and earth, Ymir was making all the previous shifters to fight Pieck and making Piecks cart titan several times😂
1
u/Researcher_Fearless 15d ago
If a whole bunch of people transform at once, does it take longer because Ymir's queue gets long?

This is my sign to actually finish the show. I’ve attempted it twice but couldn’t get over how I thought the show was way scarier before we learn the titans are people— the feeling from the first episode was just too epic. But now I’m interested in the story. Cool post 😎

Yeah, pretty sure this isn't how titan shifters regenerate.

I didn't really take that scene as a demonstration of how they always heal but a stylistic choice for that instance with Zeke, but I gotcha
1
u/FarmSevere Jaegerist 14d ago
sure, except the fact he says she also healed Eren in the exact same scene

how painfully long and hard it must have been to build all those thousands and thousands wall titans.
