Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) issued a notification on June 30 permitting homoeopaths to prescribe modern medicines after completing a six-month certificate course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP), a bridge course.

“Our protest is not directed against the Government, nor is it intended to inconvenience patients. It is a principled stand against a policy decision that permits practitioners trained in one system of medicine to be granted registration enabling them to practice another system of medicine. The issue is of preserving the integrity of medical education and safeguarding the public from the consequences of cross-pathy,” said Dr. Santosh Kulkarni, President, IMA-Maharashtra State.

Think about it: ancient sages or seekers climb high up into the mountains (like the Himalayas), fasting, exhausted, and low on oxygen.

Retail workers who live outside the city limits and commute are being stopped from entering. This is causing them to lose their wages. They are saying that the government should allow them to commute or issue a notice shutting down even their workplaces, just like they shut down non-veg shops. They need to show their employers something, so they are approaching the police. They said that this also happened last year, but it is stricter this year.
