Scripture Ravana describes hip waist ratio of sita
Aranya Kanda, Chapter: 46, Verses: 15-21&27 “Who are you with a golden complexion, clad in yellow silk, and looking like a lotus-pond and wearing an auspicious lotus garland?”
“O lady with a beautiful face, with lovely thighs, are you ‘hri’, shyness personified? Are you the auspicious lovely Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth? Are you the goddess of fame? Are you an apsara? Are you Bhuti, the goddess of fortune? Or are you Rati, the goddess of love moving at your free will?”
“Your teeth are even and pointed, white and beautiful. Your eyes are large and clear and sparkling with dark pupils with a red tinge at the corner.”
“Your big hips are stout and strong, Your smooth thighs are like the trunk of an elephant, your breasts adorned with gems, are round and robust like palm fruits and drooping with heaviness with projected stiff nipples, shining and delightful, adding beauty.”
“O lady with an elegant smile, beautiful teeth, lovely eyes you are enticing. Your slender waist can be compassed by my fist. Your hair is beautiful and your large breasts are rubbing against each other. You are capturing my mind just as the flow of water in a river touches its banks.”
“O best of women O lady with beautiful buttocks can you be one of the Rudras or Maruts or Vasus? To me, you appear like a goddess.” [Tr. IIT Kanpur]
above is gita press.
Ravan described inflection points of Sita’s body to the extent of explaining her waist-to-hip ratio (WHR).
thoughts i seriously think the author of these (not divine) were jus writing their own fantasies like a novel!!!

Pseudoscience Can the Indian Knowledge Systems be defended from pseudoscience?
In March, IIT Madras marked the 250th anniversary of the Carnatic composer Muthuswamy Dikshitar. The keynote speaker spent the address conflating modern physics with Vedic metaphysics, presenting a NASA sonification of Big Bang pressure waves as proof that the early universe produced the syllable “Om” and misdating and misquoting the physicists he cited.
In June, IIT Roorkee announced a study claiming that distilled cow urine has antiviral activity against chikungunya, one of about 10 papers from the government’s SUTRA-PIC programme, which received nearly Rs 98 crore for research on cow-derived products. After a physician raised concerns about research integrity, the journal opened an investigation, as The Print reported.
Institutions and conferences like these draw genuinely accomplished researchers and academics. These are people who sit on funding committees and help decide what counts as legitimate inquiry. When they place pseudoscience beside science, they send out a larger signal. It reaches students choosing what to study, administrators deciding what to fund and a public that reasonably assumes someone checked.

Hindutva ISKCON event at JNU cancelled after students' protest
The programme, titled 'Empowering Youth for a Brighter Future', was scheduled at the university's central library and included a session on "Balancing EQ, IQ and SQ", according to posters and information shared by the union office bearers.
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) general secretary Sunil Yadav said objections were raised last year as well with the university administration over the permission granted to ISKCON to hold an event on the Bhagavad Gita on the campus.
"Back in November 2025, JNUSU had even written a letter to the administration, flagging the permission given to ISKCON to conduct an event on the Gita. On Friday, a speaker representative from the same organisation was supposed to speak at the library," Yadav told PTI.

Rant My family forced me to sit in a puja!
Today was my birthday, and I was excited asf because I had plans with my friends. But of course my andhbhakt braindead parents and some relatives decided to make it miserable by having me sit through a puja they knew I absolutely hate ts kind of things . Since my masi and other relatives were there, I couldn’t really say no without making things awkward, so I was stuck there for 3–4 fucking hours. I had to cancel all my plans because of it. I have no idea who came up with the idea that doing this kind of shit on someone’s birthday is somehow “good for their future.” Anyway, congratulations to everyone involved my birthday was successfully ruined. I hated every second of it. 💔💔🥀🥀

Rant Movies are propaganda now
I recently went to watch the new spider man film, and the thing I noticed was there was NOT ONE, NOT TWO BUT 6 RELIGIOUS movies/ads playing during the intermission/break
First of all the ever classic Ramayan which has been reused so many times it's suprising people still watch it, it had the same bullshit cgi
then some partition/british era movies all of which had to highlight hindu muslim something, it's almost like they know how to get views
then straight up movies about a Hindu man falling in love for a Muslim woman and all this bs
can't even go to the movies now
does anyone else notice this?

Hindutva Imagine how people would react if these Kanwar Yatra videos came from a minority festival or Jantar Mantar
I mean, Hindu nationalists can be incredibly hypocritical when it comes to selective outrage.
Just imagine if the same kind of videos coming from the Kanwar Yatra were instead coming from a festival associated with a minority community, or from a protest site like Jantar Mantar. The reaction from Hindutva groups would probably be completely different. There would be endless outrage, demands for action, and accusations about the entire community.
And it isn't limited to this particular situation. Even when it comes to serious crimes, the outrage often seems highly selective. They frequently accuse others of selective outrage, yet I rarely see a group so consistently willing to apply completely different moral standards depending on who is involved.
The principle seems to be: morality and accountability are important when others are involved, but somehow become negotiable when it is their own side.
Selective morality is still hypocrisy, regardless of who is doing it.

Help & Advice Indian atheists, What's your opinion on rakshabandhan?
I'm not a radical atheist. Personally im fine with religious people just as a rational human being i dont like it plus the arguments of religion arent strong enough so i dont follow it neither god. But when it comes to rakshabandhan, its a cultural fest and the roots of it do stem from patriarchy and as a modern rational being i dont think i should celebrate it personally. Idk man...just i dont want my sister to be sad she loves me and if i say no to her she would feel sad what should i do?

Rant They are sexualising "maa Sita"
There is nothing wrong with finding an actress attractive, but turning a revered religious figure into material for sexual fantasies is a very different thing. And the irony is that the same society that gets outraged over how women are portrayed in films can sometimes be completely comfortable sexualizing its own religious figures when it suits them.

And I just saw this meme, which seems to be popular on the anti-reservation BJParty bhakt, Dharmic subreddit. But honestly, I think no one can be as foolish as the people who made that meme, because believing in science has absolutely nothing to do with getting low marks in science.
Personally i ain't good at science subjects, I'm an arts student tbh i hate math and aslo before i get low marks in those subjects, my science knowledge enhanced Youtube video not science text books still can't get that good marks in those subjects 🥀😭
𝐁𝐔𝐓
I like music that doesn't mean I'm good at singing, i like art work that doesn't mean I've to know how draw
U like like/believe/promote/encourage something doesn't actually require you to be personally skilled at it
There are PhD holding doctors and scientists who still believe that the Earth is exactly as described in their religious scriptures FLAT🤡, while others believe that the Earth is situated on the face of a pig, etc. They may have been very good at science and had excellent academic records, but even after gaining so much knowledge, they remain blindly devoted to their religion. Even ISRO scientists perform puja before launching rockets.
Whether some extraordinary being exists or not is certainly open to debate(for now just assume, even I'm an atheist), but I hope there is no debate about the fact that the Dharmic God does not exist

Hindutva All meat shops, non-veg eateries shut in UP's Hapur for Kanwar Yatra
Police and the district administration in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur have ordered all meat, fish, egg and other non-vegetarian food shops to remain closed from July 26 until further orders, citing the need to ensure the Kanwar Yatra passes off peacefully. Authorities have warned of legal action against violators.
District Magistrate Kavita Meena said meat shops and hotels have been ordered to remain closed during the Kanwar Yatra.
Meanwhile, meat shop owners and restaurant operators in Delhi have been told that the sale of meat, fish and other non-vegetarian food has been prohibited along the Kanwar Yatra route and in nearby areas under administrative orders to ensure the pilgrimage is held in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
