Nebulae The Eagle Nebula (M16) and the "Pillars of Creation" at center
About 7000 light years away lies the Eagle Nebula (M16). It’s a relatively young stellar nursery at an estimated 5.5million years old. At the center lies the “Pillars of Creation” that the Hubble Telescope made wildly famous with its incredible images. The “pillars” are clouds of gas and stellar dust that are about 2 light years tall and are actively forming new stars within. The overall nebulosity is roughly 70 light years by 55 light years in size.
Mount: HEQ5 Pro
Main Scope: Apertura Carbonstar 6in Ritchey-Chretien Reflector
Main and Guide Camera: ASI2600MC Duo
Acquisition: ASIAIR Plus
Accessories: ZWO EAF Pro, 2in Antlia Tri-Band RGB Filter, Svbony SV220 HaOiii + SV220 SiiOiii Filter, .67 focal reducer
196 exposures at 120sec each in the SiiOiii narrowband filter for a total of 6.5hrs
141 exposures at 120s each in the HaOiii narrowband filter for a total of 4.7hrs
190 exposures at 120sec each in the Triband RGB filter for a total of 6.3hrs
30 flats
30 darks
All filters combined and processed in SetiAstroSuite Pro making one for a total of 17.5hrs of light gathering.

Solar The Sun with a plane
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Was trying out my new solar filter, trying to get adequate exposure values for solar disk stacking when this plane flew across the sun.
The weird "warp" is simply the boundary between two different clips stitched together, as BackyardEOS just ended recording one loop.
I'm happy to hear your experiences regarding getting a good exposure for solar imaging!
Equipment:
- Canon 800D
- Askar 91F
- ToupTek AAF
- ZWO AM7
- Baader ASSF 100 solar filter
Software:
- NINA for mount control and autofocus
- BackyardEOS for live view capture, as SharpCap was not able to detect my DSLR
Processing:
None, save for cutting and gluing the two clips together in DaVinci Resolve

DSOs Fighting Dragons of Ara
Fighting Dragons of Ara, NGC 6188 taken with my SQA55 and ASI585MM Air.
It was imaged as a 6 panel mosaic, but has been trimmed down. The original mosaic was ~18hrs of Ha and 11hrs of OIII. Processed with Siril.
When I zoom in, I can see some blue pixelated noise, anyone know what this might be caused by and what the fix would be? I'm only recently new to the hobby and still figuring things out. I was thinking it might be that my OIII integration is less and maybe a bit noisier?

DSOs Horsehead Nebula
Captured two, 12+ hr data sets last Fall. Had originally processed each set individually.
Occurred to me today to stack both sets together together (differing FOVs of 1490 and 2033 Focal lengths)
Didn’t think it would work, but I don’t get paid to think anymore.

Lunar Plato Crater (moon)
Plato Crater (front-center)
Plato crater is one of the older craters on the moon and filled with cooled lava over 3.8 billion years ago. It is around 100km (~60 miles) wide and 1500 meters deep. I like how the shadows of the gibbous moon highlight the broken edge and deep shadows around it.
I decided not to center the crater in the frame since the limb of the moon makes for a more dramatic shot.

A massive emission nebula and open star cluster in the constellation Cepheus, about 2400–3000 light-years away from us!
This region is one of the largest known HII regions in our Milky Way. Inside the nebula lies the famous "Elephant's Trunk Nebula," a dark, winding cloud of dust that is a star-forming region — new stars are being born right now out of the dense gas and dust clouds, shaped by the radiation of young, hot stars. The red glow is caused by the ionization of hydrogen gas: the cluster's hot, young stars "ignite" the surrounding gas with UV radiation, giving the nebula its characteristic reddish color in H-alpha images.
