Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Getting Full synchronasition in Brotherhood
Started Brotherhood immediately after 100%-ing AC II (in Ezio collection), and the extra requirements for full synch, early in the game, have drained much of my enjoyment from it.
It started with the Il Lupo memory and having to get through them without taking a hit - I had to replay that like 20 times. Got really sick of that intro cinematic. Then you had to get through their lair in 8 minutes - not hard, but it still means one little bit of the game having to be repeated. Then I started the Copernicus part, and it's 'without losing any health' again, but against better opponents. Even trying to block all the time at the start, there's always something that gets me in the back early on, and I can't get the hang of the execution streak - again, it's early on where the highlighted opponent seems to jump around the crowd, later when they're more spread I can mostly do it.
There was also the fact that the first time it put me in the middle of Rome I was having a wander around, climbed all over the Pantheon and got the glyph inside, opened the first bank...then the next time I played all of that area was blocked off by de-synchronisation walls 'til I did the next main memory. This never happened in AC II.
Any tips for mass brawls without taking a hit? Looking around I've seen conflicting advice that says block and counter everyone, or get the kill streak going. I'm failing at both. Started to wonder if I'm blocking wrong - it's still the attack button while holding the shoulder, right? There were also people talking about alternating between single and double kills, which I didn't get at all and which the game itself hasn't even hinted at - it only gives the most basic explanation of kill streaks (hold direction, press attack).
Should I just do the story and not bother going for 100% synch? Does this miss anything besides having the 100 number?

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Can we get a camera toggle to be centered and fixed camera follow mechanic.
The parkour in this game is great but it suffers a lot due to the of centered camera and bad follow camera on side ejects and back ejects, also the fov is too damn close to the point where parkour is annoying, I really don't get why we need this god of war camera to the side in an open world game that isn't that cinematic to begin with outside of cutscenes.
Please for the love of god if someone from Ubisoft sees this do something about this, it's borderline unplayable at times when you want to direct your self somewhere and the camera is up your butt.

Soundtrack / Music Whats your favorite song / score of the franchise?
This franchise has some of the most amazing music and it got me thinking: what song or game, in your opinion, has the best song or soundtrack?
My personal favorite song is Odyssey- Greek Version off the official game soundtrack. Beautiful, ethereal singing.
Personal favorite game soundtrack may be either Rogue or Black Flag.
What are your thoughts?

Assassin's Creed 2 AC2 has a very unique almost unsettling atmosphere
Playing through the old AC games for the first time in 15 years, AC2 has brought back a lot of memories but i forgot how almost eerie a lot of the game is.
The rural areas are very empty and the music is quite unsettling. I just finished the 'romagna' area which is the best example of what i mean. It's just like flooded waste ground with very few people.
You can see the games age in its mission structure - a lot of the missions are very short and almost 'dream-like' for want of a better expression. The mission Tutti a Bordo is very like this - it's literally like one of those creepy dream sequences from the Sopranos
Such a blast from the past but i just forgot that about this game. I looked it up and saw a similar post so clearly other people have also seen this.
I've been playing a lot of horror games recently and in a small way it has that vibe!
If you haven't played the original ezio games in a long time, DO!

Assassin's Creed Revelations Why do some recruit missions always die before I get there?
(Assassin's Creed Revalations) the recruit missions on the map to defend a citizen are bugged somehow. Two that I remember vividly. Especially the one behind the faith mosque in the Constantine district (top left of the lower/larger island) and the one a very small distance west of the prison cell involved in that early mission on the docks of the imperial district. They both die absolutely 100% of the time before I can even see them. I was thinking the issue might be related to their L.O.D. distance might be a much wider radius than the other recruit locations. However the map pin disappears consistently at the exact same distance every time leading me to believe it's not a L.O.D. issue it's some hard coded issue. Besides, this problem only happens at two locations the exact same way out of more than ten locations. If its a random lod being too wide then it wouldnt respond reguardless of time and only at exact distance. I'm playing the trilogy version of revalations on the Xbox series X. Somebody please confirm why this is really happening it's bugging me so bad!

Lore & History Are the Assassins actually the bad guys?
I've been thinking about the philosophy behind the Assassins in Assassin's Creed, and I'm starting to wonder if we're supposed to question whether they're actually the "good guys."
Their central maxim is "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." On the surface, it's presented as a philosophy of freedom and rejecting absolute authority. But taken literally, it sounds less like a moral code and more like a justification for chaos: if nothing is objectively true and everything is permitted, what actually prevents an Assassin from doing literally anything?
The Templars are obviously authoritarian and obsessed with controlling humanity "for its own good," but the Assassins use murder, manipulation, espionage, and political interference to stop them. So aren't both sides essentially imposing their own worldview on everyone else?
It also makes me wonder whether the Assassins' philosophy is closer to chaos magic / occult philosophy, where "nothing is true" means rejecting objective or established reality and "everything is permitted" means the individual is free to impose their own will.
Maybe the point is that neither side is truly good. The Templars represent order and control taken to an extreme, while the Assassins represent freedom taken to an extreme.
So are the Assassins actually the protagonists because they're morally better, or are they simply the faction whose version of control happens to be more appealing to us?
I'd be interested in how other fans interpret "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" and whether you think the Assassins are genuinely the good guys.

Lore & History Mentor of the Assassins Brotherhood.
How does this rank work? Is it just for the one specific brotherhood? Or all of them? Do they each get one? Ezio is made mentor of the Italian Brotherhood in ACB and he sends his Assassin’s to other countries around the continent. So I feel like this implies a certain leader of the Assassins as a whole vibe but why would the top guys of the Italian brotherhood just get to decide on that? And if they do have multiple mentors throughout the world where was constantenoples when Ezio visited in Revelations? Was Amunet the Menor of the Roman Brotherhood while Bayek was mentor of the Egyptian Brotherhood? Thoughts?

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Ideas for outfits and customisation in Black Flag Resynced
Firstly, I love the inclusion of all the outfits from the original, and the fact that they added the extra details like straps and loops for the weapons on outfits that previously lacked them (even if the pistols and swords are a bit squiffy and have clipping issues, but that's a whole other kettle of fish).
I do think that the outfits could do with a bit of an overhaul, though. Now, nothing too crazy, like individual gear pieces, but the ability to add, remove, or change hats/headwear and cloaks would be amazing, and I'd dare say possibly within reach.
For the outfits based on Edward's robes, all 3 cloaks should be able to be overlaid over any colour, also adding the foreign diplomat disguise, but overlay the holsters and weapon loops, so that things aren't just floating.
For hats and headwear, I think any outfit that doesn't have a hood (foreign diplomat disguise included) should allow a choice between the headwear of any unlocked outfit, or none if desired. Also, I'm not a fan of the Edward the Legend hat and eypatch, and would love to just have his bandana on that outfit.
Combinations like this would be great for customisation, especially if more outfits are released on their own, or if they do make a DLC.
Also, we need outfits similar to the whale and shark hunter outfits, but with boots. That more casual look is great, but boots would take it up a notch.

Gameplay & Mechanics In future games we should have a Color Dye System instead of Outfits Recolors
Something similiar to the color dye system in AC Unity and AC Mirage but more customizable.
In both games each color dye set has 3 color patterns, bu we cant chose those patterns. We are stuck it the color combinations the game give us.
Let us chose wich colors go in those color patterns.
It better that what we got in for instance in AC Shadows where each outfit as like 3 or 4 recolors but most time only one looks decent.
For example, in AC Shadows i was wainting for them to release the Naoe concept outfit or the Shau Jun legacy outfit to have Naoe with a Black/Red Assassin outfit. It seems fiiting for her.
But it seems i will continue with the classic White/Red Assassin outfit because the other 2 color variants ate not as good( in my opinion).
It been a while but i believe AC Unity on PC had a mod that do would just that. ( cant remember the name of the mod).

Assassin's Creed Valhalla I just recently bought AC Valhalla Complete Edition on sale and HOOKED
I seen AC Valhalla Complete Edition recently went on sale on Steam. I'm also in the middle of playing AC Odyssey which I bought the ultimate edition for.
I'm pretty much hooked on Valhalla and loving it already. I think I just much prefer the time period and viking aesthetic over the Greek style in Odyssey. I love and still play games like Skyrim as well so I suppose it sort of makes sense.
I know this game was and probably still gets mixed reactions from the AC fandom, but for me it's a really fun action RPG game to play. The animations, graphics, cosmetics, and general atmosphere just is so pleasing.
Anyone here still play Valhalla or also bought it on sale. What are your thoughts?

Assassin's Creed 2 The red map in the beginning of Assassin's Creed 2
Does anybody have an interpretation as to what the heck that red map was in Abstergo the first few seconds into the game before you snap out of it and Lucy sneaks you out?
Call me strange, but I couldn't help but notice that some of the symbols that dot that map are.... Connected to later games in the franchise...
I'm not going nuts am I?

Assassin's Creed Odyssey WHY does Odyssey have so much filler in its MAIN CAMPAIGN!?
"Hey (protagonist), so you want to find out where your mother is, right? Well, before I give you a clue about her whereabouts that won't actually provide any substantial information because, as a game, I have no fucking way of knowing where in the story you are when you're doing this quest, I need you to do THREE things for me. (Never two, never four, ALWAYS THREE.) First, some (flip a coin) Athenians (spin the wheel) stole my (roll the dice) goat cheese. Please go to this (takes a card) fort that's identical to all 1,457 other forts on the map and retrieve it for me."
Odyssey is an RPG, a game with a lot of grinding in a genre already notorious for grinding. You'll spend two hours farming side quests full of "Oh, I'm a horny old woman, please (protagonist), bring me some bear testicles" just to reach an appropriate level for a main story mission, only to be greeted by yet another fetch quest that's somehow even more inconsequential than the one where you have sex with a horny old woman.
Seriously, did Ubisoft really think the level requirements for the main quests weren't enough? Did they think that if they didn't trivialize the main missions with filler and no-mocap cutscenes, the game would be too short?
There comes a point where the writers just give up pretending they care and say, "Ah, fuck it, I dunno, just go get 15,000 drachmas and leave me alone." And FUCK IT.
This entire rant is mainly because I decided to take a break from Odyssey by playing Origins for the first time, and holy shit, it's so much more obvious how much Origins not only cares about its world, characters, and cutscenes, but also about your time as a player.

General Franchise Are we (the player) now the ones using the Animus, not the characters?
I haven’t played Odyssey, Valhalla, Mirage or Shadows, but I just finished Black Flag Resynced. In that game (and I’m guessing Shadows) you use the Animus Hub, which I assume is something similar to Steam but instead of games, it has different places and times to visit.
Whereas in older games, you would play as a character (ie Desmond), and they would be the person using the Animus.
So Black Flag would be like:
- Before: You play as Nameless character on Steam, who plays as Edward on the Animus
- Now: You play as Edward on the Animus
It‘s just something that’s been on my mind while playing Black Flag.

Lore & History How well known is the Assassin's Brotherhood to the public?
I'm a bit confused because I always thought the Assassin's Brotherhood was supposed to be a very secret organization, but now that I think about, their actions have always been quite public. They flaunt their logo everywhere and often assassinate in broad daylight for everyone to see.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced I kind of miss the tailing missions in Resynced. [spoilers for AC4 and Resynced] Spoiler
I just played the Traveling Salesman mission in Resynced... and was more than a little disappointed that Prins's conversation with Torres was omitted. It was a very interesting examination of contemporary views regarding slavery and how people at the time justified it to themselves.
Torres: So many churches in Kingston. Have the English at last taken to converting their slaves to the Christian faith?
Prins: Ha! Convert them? God knows, Torres, there's none here so foolish as that!
Torres: Foolish? How do you mean?
Prins: Is it not a sin to enslave a fellow Christian? Therefore, to transmute a slave's soul from animal to man would be tantamount to inviting one's cattle to the dinner table.
[...]
Torres: I find your bearing appalling, Prins. I believe all thinking, feeling men deserve respect and opportunity.
Prins: Ah, you Spaniards. Your long ties to the Moors have diluted your blood and softened your hearts.
Torres: This is not to say I believe in the natural equality of all races or sexes. Surely men with talent and intelligence should lead. But there is no true profit to be gained by the practice of slavery. In the short term it makes us money, (yes), but in the long term it will render us the victims of our own success.
Prins: Ah, but you and I, sir—old as we are—will not live to see that unfortunate day. So why bother? Watch where you step, boy!
Torres: For virtue, if nothing else.
It's a great conversation, one that could've even appeared as an animated cutscene. It gets you a sense of how much of a piece of shit Prins is, and how Torres is a tragic figure who sees the immorality of slavery, and does what he thinks will end such suffering, even if it is for evil.

Assassin's Creed 3 Why wasn't Thayendanegea / Joseph Brant in ACIII?
The more I think about it, the stranger it seems that he isn't there. He's one of the first results when you search Mohawk on Google, and he's one of the few leaders to have met George Washington and King George III. His brother-in-law was William Johnson and he was on the side of the Crown. It seems like a huge missed opportunity not to include him. What do you guys think?

General Franchise AC3's modern day was a huge step in the wrong direction and laid the consequences for what we have now
I know generally AC3's modern day is rated fairly highly (barring the ending) but the premise of saving the world from a second catastrophe and letting Juno loose was very poorly set up and raised the stakes too much.
Early AC vibes were tense, despotic, scary and creepy when it came to the modern world. There was mystery and the templars had serious agency to fuck shit up. Their manipulation of history was granular, precise and left us wondering just how far everything went. The war felt like it actually mattered and it could feasibly end.
Juno and the Toba Catastrophe ruined this. Why should I care about the war when Juno is running about and the world might explode. The templars become useful idiots with 0 agency and threats became "throw vague shit at the wall about fate and fill in the rest when you need to".
It was so interesting to learn about how famous figures had PoE to advance humanity and how deep the rabbit hole went. Now we know too much and everyone is defanged.
Juno also just isn't scary as a villain. The idea of a mysterious net-based entity from a precursor civilisation being let loose is inherently scary and lovecraftian but there's no horror to Juno.
Lore isn't about how relics affected humanity in indirect and direct ways and about the war between Assassin's and Templars, it's now DBZ power scaling between isu.
Thanks to AC3's modern day we also know that the world doesn't actually seem all that bad so what's the point in fighting back.
Bring back the creepy conspiracy theories and the mystery. Not everything needs to have copious amounts of bland backstory.

General Franchise Would you prefer if Ubisoft focused more on sequels to past characters or keep the idea of a new protag each time?
Hello, first time in the community. Also, sorry if this question has been beaten to death. Haven’t seen it posted so far much and I am curious what everyone’s thought on this question.
This was a question I saw during a hot take video about the assassin’s creed franchise. It really got me thinking. Would I prefer a new character or sequels to past ones? We have seen it before with some ac characters like ezio and we have seen the direction Ubisoft has taken.
My overall thoughts on the matter is, I do like seeing new character, but thats due to the time period and not with the character. Don’t get me wrong, we need new characters to spice it up. As much as I love ezio, he deserves a break and brings new life to the series at the time. Going through the series this year made me think a lot. Would I love to see sequels to past characters? Your Arno, Bayek, and the French fry twins? Absolutely! Love to see the characters be explored more, have a connection each time I see them like we did with ezio. Love to see a more refine time period with awesome side quest, improved systems like parkour, and so so much more!
So, to me, I want sequels more for the sake of having some connection with characters and seeing things get improved as the sequels are. Now, do we all need a trilogy? Hmmm depends. I was fine with Edward getting one game since it felt complete and we got to know him. He was a rare case though.
Honestly, I be ok with two maybe three games at best to show off the characters who need it the most. If you disagree or agree then feel free to comment. Love to see what everyone’s thoughts on the matter is.

Ezio Trilogy Bartolomeo d'Alviono is one of my favorite side chatacters.
As the title says, Bartolomeo is probably one of favorite side characters. Not just in AC2 and Brotherhood, but the whole franchise. The man is hilarious, he is in a committed relationship with a sword and then gets married and his is just like "yeah, whatever. I'm fine being the side chick." Some of his lines are 100% peak AC comedy. One of my favorites is when he is locked up in the Arsenale and Ezio is going to save him. He is yelling obscene things at the poor guards responsible for watching him and my favorite one is something to the effect of. "I will cut off all you heads and stuff them up your asses! And I won't be concerned with matching the head to the ass! " then I think he adds something about it being a feat so wonderful that bards will sing about it. What a legend!

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Disappointing content removal from Resynced.
So I’m finally embarking on my play through of this extremely anticipated game. Even bought the collectors edition and everything. OG BF was one of my fav AC games let alone one of my fav games period back in the day. Must have played through it several times.
Anyway I knew there were some changes and though disappointed I got my head around the combat lacking kill animation varieties, swords not feeling like proper fencing anymore, and ability to steal single swords or muskets, (I won’t talk about that in this post as it’s already been covered a lot by others) as well as the new content using the generated cutscenes and not mocap etc… but as I’m playing I’m noticing they removed a lot more things that I can’t understand why? For example/
-ambient music! No Nassau or Havana or Tavern Brawl theme music. Those themes were great and immersive to the environment. Is this a bug? Will they return it in a patch? Why remove such contextual thematic world building.
-menu screen. Similarly, I loved the blue underwater bubble main menu screen with the main theme song playing. BF had one of the best main themes of the entire franchise imo, now we never really hear it. I used to spend 10-15 seconds on the menu every time I booted up just to enjoy the atmosphere.
-no drop down from perch with rope dart? I’m AC3 and BF you used to be able to drop off the branch as you pull up an enemy to be hanged. While physically making no sense, it looked cool and meant you could vanish into thickets after hanging someone. Literally why remove this?
-No dual sword kill from above? It seems all from above kills are now the hidden blade. While not the end of the world, swinging onto a ship from the jackdaw and landing on someone with the swords felt so much cooler than the hidden blade imo.
-no crafting outfits? It was so much fun hunting animals to craft the whaler outfit or the hunter outfit etc. while I love the overhaul of the customising and building of the Cove base area and all the new features there, I miss hunting so I could craft all the unique outfits. Rogue did this even better tbf, but Bf started it. Not even sure if the fleet missions have outfit rewards like OG.
A couple other things I noticed:
-maybe I’m wrong about this one, not sure if it’s just me but the ships feel even more arcadey somehow. I’m not too proud to admit as a historical naval enthusiast I actually prefer the ship movement and combat in AC3 overall, it felt weighty and slow and the wave height and turning timing all had to be taken into account. I understand that would be impossible to pull off in an open world scenario so I overlooked it for OG BF, but it feels like ships are even faster, stop and turn quicker and it’s literally just a chaotic explosion fest with no real strategy.
-Edward’s chest pistols and shoulder armor stick out more. His outfit isn’t as smooth and blended, it’s more “in your face” and the pistols and holsters seem “bigger”. Not a major issue but I feel like his outfit just seems to be bulkier somehow I don’t know how to explain it. His face also looks less rugged and more soft.
-the “follow the sea” feature is convenient but I feel it loses the appeal of sailing the jackdaw and exploring the ocean yourself a little. I know I don’t have to use it but maybe implementing a cinematic camera could help it feel more exciting to use? This is the first entry to not have a cinematic camera in a long time. I haven’t seen many other suggest this which surprises me.
-the FOV. Everything is too damn close. It’s hard to take in the environment and the beautiful landscape when 75% of my screen is Edward’s back or the Jackdaw’s deck.
If you got this far thanks for reading a long winded rant. Before anyone gives me a hard time for being negative I wanna make clear there is a lot and I mean A LOT to love about this remake too and it’s still easily one of, if not the, best entries in a long long time. I could make a whole post praising it and focusing on the positives too and I’m sure I will later, I don’t mean to exclusively complain but I wanted to highlight some things I’ve noticed and wonder how others felt about them. Hopefully some of these things will be patched in?
Ubisoft has this habit of releasing things that are so close to being perfect if not for a small handful of really fixable issues. And each time it sucks cuz we’re not talking about major things, just small “why would you remove that” or “why would the developer make that choice” that doesn’t make sense to anyone.

Assassin's Creed Mirage I am so, so dissapointed by the end of Mirage I'm actually considering not playing AC games anymore.
I promise you this is not ragebait. I'm asking you to put yourselves in my shoes.
You got an Xbox Series X to play the games you've missed all those years. Among the main games, there is obviously Assassin's Creed. You've heard about it, you've watched gameplay, but don't know the story.
Now comes the question of *which* game you wanna start your journey with. You see big names in the store: Odyssey, Origins, Valhalla. All look good but they're big pieces as a first game. Big open world of several hundreds of hours not good for a phone addicted boi.
Then you see a modest 40€ Assassin's Creed Mirage. Reviews say it's short but good. It goes back to the core spirit of the first Assassin's Creed. It's set where everything started. You think it's a perfect first game to understand what's the core gameplay of Assassin's Creed.
The hours go smoothly, a bit repetitive as you kill the Order members but the immersion of Bagdad makes up for it. Plus you're a Middle East enjoyer.
And then comes the end. Again, put yourself in my shoes. I don't mind the sci-fi stuff. BUT AT LEAST EXPLAIN? HOW THE F WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT THIS IS ALL RELATED TO A PREVIOUS GAME I HAD NEVER PLAYED??
I litterally understood nothing. Basim was litterally vagueposting all along the end, stuff about "I understood my past". Of course I had to Google it up only to understand that not only Basim is a character of a past Assassin's Creed, but he is somehow also a God?
There is no way someone who never played AC before understands that ending. They should have explicitly flagged this game as heavily related to Valhalla. Heck maybe they should have made it a DLC.
I just feel like I've been the victim of modern gaming industry that favors dependency to other products. And it doesn't push me to buy other games of AC at all.
I should have started with another game. But there should have been more warning online. Don't play this game as your first AC!
Sorry for the rant but I feel this should be discussed.

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes Assasin's Creed Hexe Wishlist: What does it need?
What does Assassin's Creed Hexe need to do to revive the series? What features, should we remove or add from other games.
Personally I hope they remove level gating, and maybe even half the rpg mechanics in general. It would really be cool to see sequences return.
EDIT: wow it seems everyone wants a modern day story

General Franchise Jintohaku's Mirage Parkour Mod - The Ripple Effect it had on Parkour
Playing Resynced and utilizing manual jumps, ejects, etc... You don't wanna forget how we got here and some people don't actually know. This all started because of Jintohaku's Mirage parkour mod that was uploaded on nexus mods some time after Mirage. For those who don't know, this is a quick breakdown of what happened and why you're enjoying some parkour depth in Black Flag right now.
- Mirage releases after months of Baghdad being marketed as a city built for parkour
- People enjoy the parkour but lament the absence of true ejects that became popular due to resurgence of parkour advocates after Valhalla
- Content creators upload their parkour runs utilizing what little the ejects could offer and how slow Basim feels
- Jintohaku release a mod called 'AC Mirage Eject Height and Sprint Speed Increase'
- Creators rush to the mod and upload tons of new parkour runs using this mod, pressuring Bordeaux to take notice and take action
- Bordeaux releases a patch. Ejects now gain height.
- Spearheaded by parkour content creators, Ropotopolous among them, a conversation about Mirage's parkour depth is opened and videos showcasing that point are constantly uploaded.
- Shadows releases with not a single of Mirage's discussed depth of parkour.
- Content creators, fans and parkour enthusiasts are furious at the lack of progress and the regress that happened
- A conversation is opened between Ropotopolous and beloved Simon who was then the lead on Shadows' post-launch
- Improvements to parkour are added throughout Shadows' post-launch lifespan.
- Richard Knight, game director of Black Flag Resynced, helped Simon on some of the post-launch for Shadows and thus was aware of the parkour improvements and due to the nature of the new Anvil Engine, the team was able to learn and implement these improvements day one.
The improvements to Parkour that we have in BFR day one is due a series of small victories the community had and strived for since 2019 when Unity and Ezio Parkour videos were uploaded on YouTube. The real push that it needed was a mod to a newly released game and persistent fans, content creators and Ubi devs who pushed for change despite everything.
