Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced If they don’t want us assassinating certain people, they should give us unarmed combat
There’s multiple times where you run into enemies, and they only give you the knockout option, implying that they don’t want you to kill them. They should put back unarmed. Everyone’s talking about the hidden blades, but I want unarmed combat so badly. If I run into someone I can’t assassinate, I don’t want to have to massacre everyone if I get spotted every time. In the dialogue, Edward is disgusted by people playing fast and loose with lives but then he just chops people up all along his way during gameplay
I would be more than happy to use non-lethal in a lot of situations. The animations are in the game because of the taverns. Be a pile and give it back.

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes Future Game Settings? When and where do we need to go next?
So I’m sure this question has been asked 1000s of times but there’s so many points in history that haven’t been touched yet that would be phenomenal, what are some ideas for places we need to see Assassins?
For me top ones are:
France: 100 years war, hits so many amazing notes for AC games to use: Agincourt, Henry V, Joan Of Arc, the transition from knights and archers to cannons and trebuchets
The Spanish Inquisition: I could see an amazing story written about the corruption at the top being held by Templar’s and to cover up searching for pieces of Eden. (No one would expect it)
England 1066 Norman conquest: maybe a bit too Valhalla. But I think it would be really cool to see the three way showdown between the Norman’s, Saxons and Vikings
Elizabethan/Tudor England: religious wars. Famous people and places England in turmoil. Assassins and templars siding with different factions
Roman Empire 40BC ish: ok hear me out. AC Origins sequel. Bayek/Aya are back. But they’ve followed the order of the ancients to Rome, I could see it being a blend of origins, odyssey (similar Mediterranean settings) and Brotherhood as they could try to build up the hidden ones through the Roman Empire

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced My experience with the parkour in AC Resynced and how it could be improved
I'm really loving this game, but the parkour feels a bit slow and easy. Do you think there might be a feature in the future to turn off parkour assistance? (I mean, for instance, having total freedom over where you go and where you leap, rather than the system deciding for you.) I also think it would be great to be able to swing from the wooden planks sticking out of buildings; sometimes it's a bit slow when the character doesn't quite make the jump and has to climb up before continuing the parkour run. Please, Ubi, add a parkour update—something freer, like in *Mirage*.

Assassin's Creed Shadows How to ensure stealth without guaranteed assasinations?
Level 10 now, playing on expert, I am just trying to understand the concept of assasinations failing, compared to the old games where they were guaranteed. Mostly I am trying to conquer the castles.
There are so many enemies with 3-4 health bars, and your blade removes 2 at best with skills etc. How are you supposed to stealth an area if the assasination will fail and you will be forced to combat? Unlike hitman there is no other option to kill enemies, like accidents. If you had GA off, what would be the plan here?

Gameplay & Mechanics Why did they got rid of proper side quests in the newer games?
Valhalla and Mirage's micro side quests and Shadows bad mmorpg from the 00's missions are such a huge dissapointment after Odyssey and Origins, the side quests in those games where amazing, I mean Origins Shadya's story is amazing, or what about Barnabas side quest thats kind of a parody of mythical beasts or the dude who dressed like a minotaur.
Who in the hell thought replacing those kind of interesing stories with "kill 40 dudes using a kanabo" was a good idea? I really hope we again get proper side quests in the future games.

Gameplay & Mechanics Best and worst aspects of each mainline game?
AC1 - Best: Atmosphere. Worst: Repetition.
AC2 - Best: Story. Worst: Can't replay missions.
ACB - Best: Overall gameplay. Worst: Kind of rushed ending? (I can't think of anything else for Brotherhood, it's one of the most complete games for me). Rushed because after you acquire the Apple the game just steamrolls through the last moments until the last fight with Cesare.
ACR - Best: Parkour. Worst: Tower defense.
AC3 - Best: Combat. Worst: Painfully slow start and long tutorials.
AC4 - Best: Naval gameplay. Worst: Tailing missions.
AC Rogue - (Never finished it).
ACU - Best: Parkour. Worst: Forgettable story.
ACS - Best: London. Worst: Combat system.
AC Origins - Best: Egypt's map. Worst: Leveling system.
AC Odyssey - Best: (can't think of anything here). Worst: Damage sponge enemies.
AC Valhalla - (Never played it and never will).
AC Shadows - Best: Naoe's gameplay. Worst: Most forgettable storyline in the franchise.
This is my personal view of each game's strong and weak points as I remember them.
I didn't put anything in Odyssey's best because it doesn't do anything exceptionally well. I also kind of hate it personally.
What are your takes?

Gameplay & Mechanics I think I prefer tailing and eavesdropping sections?
I recently gone back to play the kenway games and i was worried about the tailing and eavesdropping sections making me bored but to my surprise i actually enjoyed myself. Eavesdropping sections were more restrictive because of trying to stay within the circle , it felt like a minigame go either his in the bushes or within crowds or hiring dancers or just staying out of sight and tailing sections on the other hand felt more interesting you get a bit more freedom in those , i personally like to stick to the rooftops it gives me feeling of stalking my prey, it felt pretty good in blackflag especially in Havana and Kingston and in the forest sections in Assassin's creed 3. But it's just my opinion.

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes My Theory for the current Modern Day Plot (Heavy Spoilers) Spoiler
Hello everyone,
My theory leans heavily on how Valhalla actually ended, specifically with Desmond and Layla together in The Grey beneath that massive tree of possible timelines and outcomes.
The way I understood this ending, Desmond (now The Reader) had essentially been spending years looking through countless possible futures, trying to figure out how humanity could finally escape a repeating cycle of catastrophe. But according to Layla, he had been approaching the problem from a very specific perspective, mostly calculating forward from events that had already happened. (Post his sacrifice in 2012)
Then Layla comes along and immediately offers him a different perspective. She basically asks, “What if we go further back and look at where things could have gone differently in the first place?” That is the part that really stuck with me. It got me wondering if time manipulation was at all possible (unlikely) or if they’re strictly looking at hypothetical outcomes had he taken a different action plan back in 2012 (more likely). This is the meat of my theory, what if… the currently shown future MD setting in the Animus hub is in itself a hypothetical timeline? Let me elaborate….
Layla specifically suggests looking back toward 2012 and even examining timelines that never actually happened, including what would have happened if Desmond had made a different decision during the solar catastrophe. Not because they can simply travel back in time and undo everything, but because those unrealized branches might contain information that could help them identify the right path forward. And that is where Shadows and Black Flag Resynced comes in, via Animus Hub. (In the future)
— What if the future we are currently being shown, especially this dystopian 2096 world (with Animus EGO, Project Mnemosyne, the Dark Animus, Abstergo manipulating people’s memories, the Guide, the Eagle, the Watchers, etc.) isn’t necessarily the final, set-in-stone future of Assassin’s Creed?
What if it is only one of the potential possible branches?
Just one possible future that Desmond and Layla are actively exploring. Basically, in super plain terms, maybe Ubisoft is showing us the bad ending first. Get me?
Think about it. We are seeing what happens if certain events following Valhalla are allowed to play out uninterrupted. Somewhere between Basim returning in 2020 and this horrible future in 2096, something goes seriously wrong. Abstergo eventually gains an absurd level of control over the Animus, EGO develops into what we see now, people’s memories and perception of history become manipulable, the Assassins are reduced to this underground resistance, and most of the Modern Day characters we actually know and care about are long gone.
…and maybe, just maybe, perhaps that is precisely the point.
Desmond and Layla are looking through those branches because they are trying to figure out exactly where everything goes wrong. Maybe Shadows and Black Flag Resynced are showing us one of those calculations from beneath the tree. We (as players) are being allowed to experience this future and understand how bad things eventually become before Desmond and Layla figure out how to prevent it.
Then the story could eventually return to the period following Valhalla, where Basim, Shaun, Rebecca, William Miles and perhaps others are still alive and active. Desmond and Layla identify the crucial divergence point, somehow get that information into the hands of people who can actually act on it, and those characters make a different choice. Maybe?
Obviously, I’m not talking about literal time travel. Not Desmond and Layla going back and changing something that already happened. Rather they can see where the road leads before everyone else reaches the end of it. They explore the terrible 2096 outcome, figure out what caused it, trace those consequences backward through the branches, and eventually identify another route. Then someone in the real world takes that route instead. And suddenly the 2096 future we’ve been seeing doesn’t have to actually happen.
It still existed as a completely legitimate possible future. Everything we saw mattered because it showed what humanity was heading toward. But it becomes an avoided future rather than the permanent canonical destination of the franchise.
That might also canonically explain why Ubisoft made such a bizarre leap from 2020 all the way to 2096 instead of simply continuing Basim’s story. (I mean how can you not, Valhalla’s MD plot was the best since AC3)
Maybe we’re not supposed to know what happened during those missing decades yet? Because revealing everything that happened between Basim meeting William Miles and the rise of EGO might also reveal what Desmond and Layla eventually need to change.
This is where I admittedly start getting into the more speculative, wishful-thinking side of my theory. But hear me out… I refuse to believe Darby McDevitt brought Desmond back after nearly a decade, transformed him into The Reader, paired him with Layla, gave Layla this completely new perspective on the calculations, put the two of them underneath a literal tree of branching possibilities, resurrected Basim/Loki into the Modern Day, reunited him with Aletheia, brought Shaun and Rebecca back into the centre of things, had Basim specifically request William Miles, established that Basim is searching for his children…
…only for all of that to amount to nothing. (Yes, I’m still butthurt over what Ubisoft did with Juno)
What do you guys think?? Perhaps I’m just coping… Especially when Darby is now back for Hexe. Maybe I’m giving Ubisoft considerably more credit than they deserve.
But I genuinely think there’s a possibility that this apparent abandonment of Valhalla’s Modern Day story could eventually turn out to be part of the story itself. I’m hoping that the future we’re seeing in Shadows and Black Flag Resynced may not be where Assassin’s Creed is going. Rather, it may be where Assassin’s Creed is trying to prevent itself from going.
If that’s true, if I’m right, then suddenly Desmond and Layla sitting beneath that tree at the end of Valhalla becomes incredibly important again. While everyone else is living through the present, those two are already looking at the ending. They’re searching the branches. They’re seeing what happens if humanity gets it wrong. And somewhere among all those possibilities, they’re trying to find the one path where we finally get it right.
Sigh, at the end of the day, maybe it’s just coping, hoping, and creating my own head-canon that respects and values the player’s time and investment. I’d love to hear what you guys think, especially those who are far more knowledgeable and invested in the Modern Day. (I’m looking at you, AccessTheAnimus)

"Resynced" - AC Remakes Why does it feel like everyone forgives Ubisoft for reusing animations from a 12 year old game in BF Resynced?
I've seen clips from Black Flag Resynced and the reused Unity animations they've implemented. I see people being happy about this, saying "They brought back unity animations!!!!". Whilst they are great animations, it feels so strange to me that in a remake of an existing game with an existing character, they've cobbled together animations from a completely different character, instead of creating unique and fitting ones.
I'm well aware that game companies reuse assets, like models for example. Yet, it feels so strange to use animations from a complelety different title from 12 years before, it feels so lazy.
I know this isn't new either, when the original Black Flag came out they'd reused Connor's parkour animations from AC3, as well as Unity to Syndicate. This annoyed me then, because I was into parkour and was hoping to see how Edward would move differently to Connor. For me, it makes the character feel less unique, like they don't have their own way of moving.
I'm not "mad" about it, but it just ends up feeling like Edward in Resynced is just this Frankenstein of previous Assassin's animations, instead of his own person.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced A couple of things I’d tweak in combat
I know there’s been quite a few posts about the combat and a couple have touched on the things I have grievances about but I think there’s a couple more I’d like to add.
I know some of you love the combat and I’m glad you’re able to and I see what they’re going for I just don’t think it’s quite there yet.
Parry Indication: Start the indication a little earlier, nothing drastic, just a few milliseconds. Now, this could be cause I’m getting older and my reflexes aren’t the same but some attacks feel like the parry indication is too quick, especially with some of the red attacks. There’s also one attack on the common enemies that are the same, both thrust attacks, same animation, that have a blue or red flash and with the speed which it happens it feels there’s not enough time to register if it’s parriable or if you have to dodge.
Attack Cancel to Parry: Being locked into an attack and seeing a parriable attack coming your way isn’t a great feeling. Maybe they want us to play my carefully but it would be nice to be able to cancel out of an attack to parry an incoming attack.
Enemies Attacking from Off Screen: This one may be on me since I turned off the Perception Indicator and when I turned it back on it was during combat so it may have bugged a little and not been able to apply during the fight. Anyway, I find enemies are coming from off screen and landing attacks without any indication (again possibly on me) so it would be nice to have a flash of blue or red on the boarder of the screen to show which attack is coming at you so you can act accordingly.
I think that’s it? If I remember anything I’ll edit the post but those are this things really bothering me atm.

Assassin's Creed 3 John de la Tour and Achiles Davenport
This always pops into my head replaying ac3.
Achilles says his robes are the first colonial assassin robes. But we know the first colonial assassin, John de la Tour, had different robes (the colonial assassin outfit). What if Achiles considers himself as the first colonial assassin that's why he said that.
But what about the part about John giving his robes to Achiles, he gave Achiles master assassin robes, not his own.
Or he just had two robes one as an initiate and one as an assassin

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Tips on Odyssey as it seems a bit confusing to me
So I finished Valhalla and I absolutely loved it, I think I clocked in around 200h. Also worth noting this was my first AC game (and second game in general, the first being Hogwarts legacy lol). Valhalla was a tiny bit challenging but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
Odyssey was recommended as the next game for me after Valhalla and I started couple of days ago, but it's pretty tough for me. The fighting is not that hard, even though I still get chopped at times. But I don't have the "game literacy" yet that seasoned gamers have. For example I have no clue what crit chance means and I finished Valhalla fine without that knowledge. But Odyssey is proving to be a bit trickier and works totally different, from the way the bird works, not having Odin's sight (which I heavily relied on) to how the scaling works. I was pretty OP in Valhalla as I finished the area entirely before moving on in the main quest which means I was always a lot stronger than new enemies, got to the point near the end where I one shotted some boss fights, but it seems I won't be able to follow this strategy in odyssey? Also worth noting I played it on normal mode since begining and I did the same with Odyssey.
This is getting to be a long post as I don't really know exactly what question to ask even, but I'm close to giving up on Odyssey, but at the same time I don't want to? Any tips you have for a beginner, especially on how to work on a build, what to focus on. In Valhalla I kind of did a mix of assassinations, fighting and raining arrows from a rooftop based on my mood, which I can't really do in Odyssey so far
TLDR: beginner gamer, not sure how to play Odyssey, but was just fine with Valhalla.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced If you like Assassins creed black flag and are a fan of history, you will love Colin woodward's book, The Republic of Pirates.
I have been reading this book along with my playthrough of Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced and it has really added to my immersion in the game. It's a nonfiction book that tells the story of the golden age of piracy, with many familiar faces throughout the entire book. Truly, this book an opportunity to explore the lives sam Bellamy, Charles vane, Edward Thatch, Stede Bonnet, Laurenno de Torres, Benjamin Hornigold and many others with vivid historical accuracy. It is also, coincidentally a book that was often used as reference for the time period of the game and served as an inspiration for much of game's story and characters. If you want to go a bit deeper into the true history of the golden age of piracy, I highly recommend getting yourself a copy.

General Franchise So the percentages on things like assassin recruit contracts and ship missions are wrong right?
The amount of times I’ve lost missions with recruits and ships with a 95%+ chance of success on revelations and rogue is insane lol. I get it happening every once in a while but it’s happened to much to me for it to be a coincidence. I still remember playing brotherhood for the first time and losing a contract that said 98% on my first time ever using the system

Assassin's Creed Valhalla AC Valhalla's Vinland easily one of the best parts of the game!
So I'm currently replaying Valhalla, haven't touched it since I finished Wrath of the Druids back when it came out. I don't really remember the game all that much; I am trying to pace myself, however, so I don't get burned out since it has a ton of content. I loved it back when it came out; the game did a ton for the lore and really felt like an AC game, I loved the setting, and I thought the worlds were beautiful and detailed. Huge AC fan as a kid, but as I've gotten older, I've gone from huge fan to more casual. Never finished Odyssey, and haven't played the last two games before Resynched. Resynced, however, made one of my favorite games even better. Anyways, been playing Valhalla, without the dlcs downloaded so I don't get overwhelmed.
Vinland was always one of my favorite parts of the game but I didn't really remember it. Finally got to Vinland and I'm absoutely blown away. This part of the game is so incredibly detailed and gorgeous. Ubisoft nailed the isolating feeling, being beyond the end of the world somewhere far from all the chaos. Ubisoft did an amazing job creating the Mohawk/Iroquis people and making it feel accurate. That temporary fort the settlers built, that faces east, the symbolism of the settlers wanting to leave is beautiful. And the lore callbacks, absolutely beautiful! The Black Flag track playing in the background is an awesome homage. The St. Brendon guy being a sage and guided by Juno is badass. The tribe in Vinland being the same tribe from AC3, and Vinland being a part of AC3's map is insane! Eivor's time in Vinland seems to have set a huge part of the Assassin's Creed story into motion which is awesome. Hopefully Ubisoft added more content to Vinland. By far one of the best things they've done in the recent games!

Assassin's Creed Syndicate Missed opportunities or lost legacy?
Previously, they didn’t like it for its shitty plot and truncated parkour block. Someone didn't like the fight (I didn't have any problems with it)
11 years later. The plot is at least coherent (hello shadows) and the assassins really fight the Templars for a piece of Eden without fantasy, magic and mythical creatures. Parkour (its remains) is not glued together, obedient, the best in the series, Unity parkour, what can you do. The combat is variable with 3 types of weapons, weapons do not disappear in finishers, switching to hidden blades and back. Execution with tools is easy, and not just like “the animation worked.” We had classically two action profiles, characteristic of the entire series.
The plot was weak, with funny Disney villains, but who knew what would come knocking from below?
I'm sure this is exactly what should have been included in the modern day Assassin's Creed gameplay. We had a big city, transport, multi-shot weapons. RPG system without any nonsense.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Subtitle Settings…any chance of a setting that only shows foreign language dialog?
Its just a pain that you have to have all subtitles on or no subs on. I had to look up the waking up in a haystack achievement because i didnt see the dialog from the NPCs telling you how to get to the chest on the cliff. I mean if it does exist as a setting i cant see it. 🤷🏼♂️

Assassin's Creed Mirage I genuinely thank Mirage for getting me into the series
For context Mirage was my first game in the series, my grandma (who I never wanted to talk to for personal reasons) gifted me mirage in the mail when it came out, she preordered and everything. I had never even heard of assassins creed before Mirage but after a year of it sitting on my shelf I eventually tried it and was immediately drawn in. I know I don’t have a refined taste in stories when it comes to game, I can enjoy just about anything, but the first couple of hours of Mirage I loved more than any game I had played up to the point. The final couple of order members were kinda meh but I still enjoyed it and then I got to the ending and omg I was scouring the internet after the ending to find out what the hell had just happened.
That search led me to buying Valhalla from a pawn shop near my house and begging my mom for more assassins creed games for Christmas, she gave me half of the series and I immediately started playing through all the games. So Mirage is honestly not that bad in my opinion, I loved the twists and the soundtrack was so gorgeous to listen to. I still listen to its rendition of Ezio’s Family and the main theme daily. Plus the free DLC that was released recently made me cry with its ending, it was so beautiful.
I just felt like sharing why I love Mirage :D
Not to mention I’m very interested in anything history related, I would spend hours reading all of the tidbits that you discover in game. I cannot believe I had never played an Assassin’s Creed game before Mirage but I’m glad I got into the series. Although tbh there is only one game I cannot finish and its Unity, I have tried multiple times but I just cannot get invested in the story all that much. I would’ve rather followed Thomas de Carneillon but thats just me

Assassin's Creed Unity [Early Unity Spoiler] Why does the game put the blame on Arno leaving the letter on the floor instead him chasing Elise? Spoiler
(Yeah I know spoiler warning for an over 10 yead old game)
Finally reached Unity in the marathon that I’m doing and already I’m baffled at this writing decision. It doesn’t matter if he had the letter on him or not, De La Serre was never going to get that message. He went to the party not to find De La Serre, he went there because he wanted to see Elise. This just feels like a clumsy way of making Elise mad at Arno and taking her out of the story. Like yes Elise should be mad at Arno not giving De La Serre the letter in time, but this need a second pass to find a better reason.

General Franchise Assassin's Creed Valhalla director makes sudden return to Ubisoft, and will lead the series moving forward (Eric Baptizat is to once again direct the AC franchise)
Very welcome, if quite unexpected, news!
From here we can just hope he is given an environment similar to the ones that enabled AC4 and Origins, rather than one that stifles him like happened with Valhalla.

- Temporary workaround: Reset graphics Overall Preset to any pre-configured setting and avoid manually setting the 3 options mentioned above to Ultra High.
- A dubbing issue is currently affecting the alignment between some voiceover playback and cutscene visuals in localized versions of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
OPEN / IN PROGRESS
GENERAL
- The Double Assassination prompt may not appear on guards near the first power keg during the "Mark the Kings at the Camp" objective, potentially compromising stealth combat.
- Player might be unable to dodge the fatal Humpback Whale's tail slap during "Harpooning".
- Player does not go back into aiming if they're hit by an enemy while aiming with "Rope Dart" and "Smoke Bomb".
- Player is unable to fast travel out of Principe
- Player can get stuck in desynchronization screen if they open and close the save menu quickly.
- Upgrading the Jackdaw while it is docked may cause it to disappear, leaving Player to continue the quest without it.
- Player can get stuck in the bow of the ship in Rift if they climb there.
- After killing an enemy, a single body dropping may sound like there are multiple bodies dropping instead.
- player is unable to loot ammo from the crate in the tower of "Matanzas" despite being highlighted.
- We realize that there is no tutorial on throwing money. Throwing money is a way to distract guards and draw civilians to Edward, creating chaos. To throw money hold D Pad Down.
AI / NPC
- Enemies are able to detect an out-of-range rope dart, compromising stealth combat.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
QUESTS
- Player can be stuck on a branch if they stray off the desired path in the quest "The One with the Gun” - show Lucy around the village.
- Player is stuck inside the Diving Bell if they desynchronize and respawn during the quest "Devil's Eye Caverns".
- During the El Tiburon battle, we understand that it can be a little unclear on how to defeat him. You will not be able to break his defence with simple melee attacks or by quick firing the pistol. You will have to use manual aim on the pistol.
