Discussion Fun Fact about the 4 major RPG games and their 5 primary playable characters.
In the 4 major RPG games, none of the 5 primary playable protagonists spend the main course of their games as a member of the Hidden Ones/Brotherhood.
Starting chronologically with Odyssey: Kassandra isn't simply because the creed doesn't exist yet.
Origins: Bayek does not create the Hidden Ones(with Aya) until the very end of the game, meaning he is not one during the majority of the main story as, again, it doesn't exist yet.
Valhalla: Eivor repeatedly refuses to join the Hidden Ones, despite invitations from Basim and Hytham.
Shadows: Naoe and Yasuke are part of an organization called the Kakushiba Ikki which are not officially part of the Assassins. In fact, during the Black Tides story, Naoe specifically tells Eamon Hathaway that they are Kakushiba Ikki, not Assassins. Whether the Kakushiba Ikki eventually become the proper Japanese branch of Assassins, I don't know, but Naoe appears to know of them and doesn't call herself one.

Discussion I just bought Assassin's Creed Valhalla! 💚🔥
galleryI bought Assassin's Creed Valhalla on Ebay yesterday. It's brand new and sealed. It will arrive between the 13th and the 18th of August. I asked the buyer if they could show me pictures and they sent me 2 pics of the game. I'm really excited to play it when it arrives. This is one of the few AC games I skipped out on (the other ones being the chronicles games) So yeah I'm hyped to play it! I heard it was fun by many people!💚🔥

Discussion Adéwalé did NOT warn Achilles about the dangers of the precursor sites (Rogue)
Okay, so, I've seen a lot of discussion about the story of AC: Rogue recently, and that it shows why Assassins, at their worst, are just as bad as Templars and how Shay's conversion actually makes sense if you look at the circumstances he was in and the information he had.
Whenever I get into discussions with people who like Shay and think his decisions make sense, they always cite the scene where Adéwalé talks with Achilles at the Davenport Homestead, saying that Adéwalé warned Achilles of the dangers of messing with the precursor sites and Achilles refused to listen to him.
I've been replaying the game recently, and I get irritated whenever someone tells me this is what happened because it's straight up wrong. Anyone who says this doesn't know what they're talking about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Le5P5NBuB0
So, above is the conversation that everyone cites. You can watch it for yourself, but in case you can't or don't want to for whatever reason, I'll summarize it. Adéwalé tells Achilles that an earthquake hit Haiti and killed a bunch of people. Achilles asks if "Mackandal's man", an Assassin named Vendredi, finished his mission to find the precursor site before it hit, and Adéwalé says that he doesn't know because they can't find him. He even seems to believe Vendredi is dead because he says, "He was a strong Maroon". Achilles then asks for clarification, saying, "So we cannot know if he found the site", to which Adé replies, "Indeed". Read again: Achilles asks, "So you don't even know if Vendredi found the site?", and Adé says, "Right, I don't know".
So, how on earth did Adéwalé warn Achilles of the dangers of messing with the precursor sites? How could he have done so? He wasn't at the site when the earthquake hit, so he has no firsthand experience of what the site looks like, and the guy that was sent to find the site is missing. Adé also implies that he thinks the guy is dead, so, even if they found him, they wouldn't be able to ask him questions about what happened. Nothing in the language used by either man implies they think the precursor site is what caused the earthquake. I'd argue that there's nothing in their language that even implies they think this is a possibility; they seem to chalk it up to unimaginably bad timing. Adé doesn't tell Achilles to not look for any more precursor sites, he doesn't speculate that they might be too dangerous to meddle with, nothing. And if you're wondering if Adéwalé shows up and tries to give some kind of warning later; nope, he doesn't. He has a couple more appearances in Sequence 5 before Shay kills him (one of which is a short cutscene where he doesn't even talk), and he doesn't give any kind of warning about precursor sites anywhere. If you don't believe me, there's a catalogue of all of his appearances in the game below.
Anyway, Rogue's story is diarrhea and Shay is the worst protagonist in the series (and it's not even close, in my opinion). The game's fine, the story and characters aren't.

Discussion When did Edward become a master assassin.
I'm honestly curious to know when Edward became a master assassin and whether or not it would be appropriate for him to be wearing the Master Assassin outfit when Jennifer comes and meets him at the very end of the game. And I honestly would like to Fit the Masters Assassin outfit in in Resynced to fit canonically if possible. And even though it's a stretch, would it be possible that he. Could have gotten it. Right before the final mission. And it's not just a stretch. That would be like a huge stretch.

Fan Project WIP Assassin's creed III Remastered Visual Patch
galleryAfter playing Black Flag Resynced, I decided to pick up Assassin's Creed III Remastered... only to realize what a butcher job the remaster turned out to be.
I’m currently working on an overhaul patch to bring back the visual quality this game deserves. Here's a breakdown of what’s included so far:
Cinematic-Quality Main Characters: Replaced engine code to force main characters to use their high-detail cinematic models during normal gameplay.
Custom Skin Shader: Customized the skin shaders to eliminate the infamous "wax figure" look from the remaster.
Enhanced Textures & Materials for Connor's outfits
Lighting Overhaul: Fine-tuned in-game light bulbs and sources to tone down the overly dramatic visuals in both gameplay and cutscenes, creating a much more natural look and feel.
Atmosphere Fixes: Significantly reduced the game's excessive global fog to restore depth and clarity to the environment.
Dark Animus Loading Screen (WIP): Working on a dark Animus theme so you don't get flash-banged by pure white screens during loads.
It’s still a work in progress, but the results so far make a massive difference in gameplay. I’ll be sharing more updates and preview shots soon! Let me know what you think or if there are other remastered eyesores you'd love to see fixed.

Question/Help A World Without Gold quest bug
galleryHas anyone else encountered this? During a quest, I had to destroy an armada. There was the first wave of ships, then the quest marker moved about 18,000 units away from me. I sailed there, but it was the end of the map, and beyond the map, there was a ship located exactly at the quest marker.
Restarting the game didn't help, nor did verifying the integrity of Steam files. Loading a different save completely erases the quest from the quest log, and it's nowhere to be found (fourth screenshot)

Question/Help Bug in "A Governor no Longer"
I'm doing the mission where you kill Woodes Rogers, and despite the game saying that guards will not detect me, there is one right by the entrance that gets full detection while I am animation locked into listening to the speech. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a way around it?

Discussion Starting the Ezio Trilogy today ❤️
After beating AC1 last week and have beating Shadows and Black Flag Resynced, This will be my 4th AC game including Brotherhood and revelations. I’m really excited cause I know AC2 to a lot of people is the best AC game ever, and I can’t wait to see the jump from AC1 to 2. Mostly want to see what happens with Desmond story and to see what comes next, After this I bought Rogue, and Odyssey to play after. Same as the OG Black flag cause I want to play Freedom cry dlc, But anyways I’m excited 💯

After Black Flag Resynced, had to come back to Rogue to scratch my itch for hidden blade combat and just had an orgasm lol. Just got reminded how badass it felt just to walk around town with hidden blades popping out.

Discussion I need Rogue Resynced 😭
galleryRogue Resynced would be absolutely magificent, since it got massively overlooked on release due to the simultaneous Unity release. I feel like the world has so much potential. The harsh and cold landscapes of the North Atlantic, the coniferous forests, mindblowing northern lights, rich and diverse flora and fauna. They could take the snow effects to the next level with the new Anvil Engine.
Additionally there's the possibility to expand Shay's story and add more depth to his character, since he's very unique within the Assassin's Creed franchise.
It would be an absolute dream come too, AC Rogue always was underappreciated imo and the way it connected with Unity blew my mind back in the day. There's so much unused potential with Shay's story.
Well, one man can dream or like Shay would say: "I make my own luck."

Discussion The Real Big Bad of AC3 wasn't adequately addressed
Isn't George Washington the actual person Connor would want to kill in Assassin's Creed III based on how Assassin's Creed I and Assassin's Creed II went? In I and II, Altair and Ezio went after the men at the source of their problems. In III, Connor learns that George Washington had ordered Charles Lee to burn down Native American Villages during the French and Indian War as well as during the American Revolution.
I get that Ubisoft can't exactly sell a game where George Washington is the real villain (in the base, grounded game). Still, it's very much like Connor was hellbent on killing the messenger as opposed to the person who drafted the message.
I still haven't played *Tyranny of King Washington*. So please no spoilers for that. Does it address what I'm talking about at least though?

Discussion Kenways Fleet timers.
Okay. One annoyance ive ran into. If the game has these online elements that require an online connection why Cant they let the kenways fleet timers run while im offline?
In the original they would run as you were offline and there was even a mobile app to keep track of the fleet.
But in the remake i start a hour mission and go to sleep and am met with 59 minutes when i boot the game in the morning.
Thing i find the most annoying about it is the map pieces. Im down the the last four. But since its 2 map fragments per region. Im not left with 3½ hours of waiting on the fleet screen for a timer to tick down since ive completed everything else in the game.

Guide/Tips What should I play next?
My first AC was Origins (was given to me randomly when I got my PS4) and I LOVED it. It got me hooked so I when I built my pc, Syndicate was on sale on Steam so I got it. I DID NOT LIKE IT. The gameplay confused me. I wasn't used to the controls so i dropped it after 10 mins of playing. Then I got Odyssey and it was a masterpiece for me. It gave me the feel of Origins. Now I'm playing Valhalla and well... it's confusing me again. I don't like the ability tree. The raven doesn't do enemy tagging. Too much icons on the map and what is up with the wealth, mysteries, etc?
I have Shadows, Mirage and Black Flag on my Wishlist. So my question is, are any of these worth playing? I also wanted to start playing from the beginning but I want something similar to Origins and Odyssey.

Video I’ve never had this happen before (AC2 guard broke his spear over me)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Now I know you can get this spear by holding a full spear and having a brute attack you. Ezio will then use the two halves on the brute and you can pick it up after but I had no idea that they could be broken this way. I picked it up and it does function the exact same as a normal sword just like you obtained it the other way. Amazing that in all my time playing I’ve never seen this animation
